    Outstanding experience
Manuel shares a beautiful story which really opens your eyes to the Indigenous culture and how people lived in the bush. Our whole family loved every moment of the experience from the storytelling, to the painting, fire starting and spear throwing. Each aspect was wonderful. The other staff members were also incredibly friendly and helpful. A definite must do if you are visiting Katherine.

An experience not to be missed!
This experience was spectacular from start to end. Manuel made us all in the group feel like part of his tribe. The experience was interactive all the way through. We learned how to say some sayings in his language, paint traditionally (Manuel and Gavin were super helpful as it is quite intricate!), fire start and hunt traditionally using spears. Manuel gave a very personal insight into aboriginal life and was very inclusive and funny. All the staff in Top Didj were super nice and the experience was just great fun. Definitely a must do. Thank you!

    Excellent !!!
What a great experience ! Manuel gives you two and a half hours of fun and learning. He begins by telling you some lovely stories of his past….really interesting…and playing the didgeridoo and sticks. Then the fantastic experience of getting to paint with a water reed. Marnee helps you……wonderful lady !!…..and you are taken through each step until there in front of you sits a great little painting, done by you ! Manuel shows you how to start a fire and throw a spear from a woomera, with complete hands on steps by all his guests. Everyone there gets to try it all and Manuel is SO good with the children…..as is Marnee. This is a must-do experience in Katherine.

Fabulous artwork. Great story telling by Manuel which helped us understand cultural aspects of Australia's original inhabitants. A must-see when visiting Katherine.

    Who knew we were artists?
We had a great experience listening to Manuel's stories of his childhood and growing up. The didj welcome and song were fantastic The art lesson was great and we had so much fun and help from Manuel and the team. Not as easy as it looks and gave us a new appreciation for indigenous art. The fire making and spear throwing was a great way to top off the day. We thoroughly recommend a visit

    Well worth the stop.
On the road to Nitmiluk , we’ll worth the stop. Beautiful artwork and lots of other items for sale in shop. Reasonable prices here - some places are extremely overpriced. Would love to have had more time as they appear to do lots of classes there.

    A valuable cultural experience
A lovely gallery of Indigenous arts in a variety of prices to fit most budgets. My sister and attended the cultural experience workshop with Dalabon artist Manuel Pamkal, who shared stories of his life and then helped us create beautiful little artworks in the Dalabon style. It was an inspiring and fascinating afternoon and I would highly recommend it to anyone, including families with older children.

    Well worth the stop
I bought my first piece of art here after being recommended the place by a Katherine local. A great stop if you want to check out or purchase some art and be sure the proceeds are fairly distributed to the artist.

Tour group visit for Aboriginal culture
Our tour group had an interesting and informative visit. Manuel played the didgeridoo, clap sticks and sang. Manuel then shared his life story and tales of bush life and customs and gave a display of lighting a fire with 2 sticks with audience participation. Manuel answered our questions and we were all delighted by his stories.

As full time travellers we don’t do a lot of paid activities generally, I am ever so great full that this one caught our eye and at a bargain family price too.
We had such a good morning, Manuel is awesome, we loved hearing his stories and listening to his teaching. Painting our own art under his direction was fab. Marnee and Chilli were great too.
Fabulous energy all around. The fire and spear throwing also great experiences. Seeing Manuel giggle with the kids while hunting Roos made my day.
Thank you so much for the smoking too, more than I expected.
Thank you Thank you

We did the Top Didj Cultural Experience tour on 10 June and loved it! It was so amazing to hear Manuel’s stories about his early life and we had the best time trying our hands at some Aboriginal art, spear throwing and fire making. Best of all was Manuel himself - a lovely, funny and joyous man. One of the best things we did in our recent NT holiday - thank you Manuel and Alex

Manuel is a national treasure! His life story is inspiring. I loved being able to paint and learn the stories behind how the paintings look too. We then were marveled with the fire building! And when we thought it couldn’t get any better we got to throw spears! Fantastic in every way! And the cutest wallabies to hold which delighted the children.

What a great morning we had. Manuel was entertaining in his storytelling, and his team alongside him made our painting lesson so fun. Marnee was very patient with a 5 year old non- artist and we all completed our paintings.
The fire starting and spear throwing were added bonuses to a fun time!

Our family enjoyed a relaxed afternoon with Manuel and Marnee. From the moment we arrived Marnee made us feel welcome and the kids really loved her. She also went above and beyond helping them and keeping them happy throughout the session. When we asked, what was your favourite part, the kids answered the baby joeys and "that nice lady!" We loved Manuel's story telling and how he also helped us with our paintings. It was good for the kids to spend time learning from him. Would highly recommend to other families.
