    What to Expect
In the afternoon, make your way to the Nitmiluk Boat Jetty, located about a 30-minute drive from the Northern Territory township of Katherine. Meet your indigenous river guide and climb aboard a boat for the journey along the Katherine River that winds through Nitmiluk National Park (entrance fees included).
See traces from thousands of years of history in the layers of sandstone cliffs, which the river has carved into 13 separate gorges over time. Stop at an ancient rock art site for a cultural interpretation that may also include interactive elements like basket weaving, spear throwing, and didjeridoo playing. Gain a new appreciation for the dramatic landscape as you hear the legends of Nitmiluk and its significance to the indigenous Jawoyn people.
Continue on your journey through the gorge, stopping for a refreshing swim at the base of the sandstone cliffs. At the end of the 2.5-hour cruise, say farewell to you guide back at the jetty in the early evening.
