I went on a group trip to Costa Rica in August with my nursing friends, and it was one of the best trips ever! We did so much in Guanacaste horseback riding, zip-lining, a rainforest water slide, a tractor ride to a stunning waterfall, a hot sauna, mud bath, ATV rides, jet skiing, and a catamaran boat ride. We also took a boat taxi to Coco Beach and had an amazing, surprisingly affordable lunch by the shore. What made this trip unforgettable were the tour guides. They treated us like family and made sure we felt safe and comfortable the entire time. When one of my friends got very drunk, they helped us take care of her while ensuring the rest of us had fun without worry. Their support made it easy to relax and fully enjoy the experience. Huge thanks to our guides—Allen, Magdani, Jason, and Jose—for making this trip so memorable! Also, special thanks to Magdani and Allen for quickly getting vinegar when my BFF and I got stung by a jellyfish. You guys were amazing!

These guys didn't even show up. Don't waste your time booking. Thankfully we didn't hand over any money up front. We were asked to meet up at 7:30am. Eventually a guy on a motorbike turned up, made a phone call and then tried to charge us more for the tour to go ahead.

Met Marco at the RIU, seems legit but he was not! We booked a catamaran for 13 guests paid a 300.00 deposit as requested on cash. He gave me a receipt that clearly said catamaran. We were so excited about the catamaran as we were celebrating birthdays. The day of tour Marco shows up with a small sailboat that could not safely accommodate us all. He said that the catamaran had issues which he should have told us prior. We requested refund of 300.00 to which he said he would bring to the resort in the morning. Needless to say Marco went Missing and now not answering calls nor did he return the money. I don’t recommend.

Stayed at the RIU Plalace we found Marco Polo tours on the public beach. Jonathon & Jason were great! Because of the weather some activities were canceled. Jonathon & Jason went out of their way to make this a memorable trip. We highly recommend Marco Polo Costa Rica. Tell them Jojo sent you…

Truly loved the experience with Magdani!! Highly recommend him for all the activities and tours. Visited Costa Rica RIU Guanacaste resort with my husband, mother in law and two daughters for 8 days and had the best experience in my life! Magdani helped us with booking Jet-skis, horse riding on the beach, zip lining (canopy) suggested a near by beach called Conchal which was stoning, bought us chips to give to the monkeys which my family enjoyed so much and even bought local mangoes for my husband to try, which they are called mangas over there. If you’re looking to have fun, learn about Costa Rica, for the best prices search go ask for MAGDANI, he is the person you MUST book all the tours you need! We’ll definitely return to Costa Rica and he’s the person we trust!

We stayed at RIU Palace Guanacaste! Johnathan and Macdoni were so good to us. We loved every excursion we went on. We did not want to leave! Waterfalls, volcano mud bath and hot springs tour, rain forest tour to see the sloths and red eye tree frog not to mention the fabulous food they provided to us! I highly recommend using them instead of the resorts. Better prices/better service! Support the locals!

Marco hooked it up even at the last minute. After reaching out on WhatsApp and setting up a fishing trip, both he and the boat were waiting when we arrived. The quick afternoon trip with our friendly and knowledgeable captain from Coco Fish On was worth every penny. A few mahi, a skipjack, even a few triggerfish when we stopped to bottom fish provided plenty of action. Would highly recommend Marco 👍🏻

Very bad service they was smoking drugs on the beach before the tour all they wanted was my money would recommend them at all

They scammed us. It was very dangerous! They had us make a deposit then we paid the money. They took us to the catamaran and drove off the catamaran crew made us pay a 30% commission fee or else. I called him multiple times and I watched him ignore my call from the beach. It felt dangerous our entire ride was ruined. We didn't feel safe with these people and the fact that I couldn't find Marco anywhere after that. I hated that they did this to us why? We were so nice and did everything we said as promised why did they cheat us like this. It's terrible and the hotel should know that these people are ruining their guests experience's.

Marco is a scammer. Do not pay in advance for anything, he will take your money and vanish. No genuine tour or service requires payment or deposit before. If staying at the RIU property, purchase your tours from the group on the property not on the beach.

This business owner is a scammer. He will take your money and not show up for the tours. He will not answer the phone or text messages, also do NOT send money in any way that you can’t get it back. Do not send zelle or PayPal friends and family.

Sadly didn't want to beleive that these locals would rip people off. Stayed at the RIU palace, Frank told us that the hotel would tell lies about him and bad reviews on here are most probably from hotel staff which I found strange. Believe the people that have been ripped off, check my reviews and posts not just a one timer. Paid through pay pay urged to use family and friends as another review states only saw that after I agreed. Wanted to back out but my friend thought they seemed genuine and allowed to operate on the beach so shouldn't be scamming people. Paid deposit in cash. Did miravelles and Bijagua agreed a price to include monteverde. After pick up stopped after 20 minutes for an hour no explanation, forced to pay in full via pay pay. Driver did not or could not take us was told 2 different reasons why, now do no know who to believe. Waited for a new driver in the sun thrown out of the other vehicle. Only taken to two stops which we enjoyed. They took my money and said it was too late to go to monteverde and I would have to speak to Frank. Was offered £10 refund when we paid £180 for monteverde. Refused to budge, I said we could reschedule another day they had the money so did not care. Lost my money, disputing with PayPal and my bank now. Big shame people are allowed to operate on the beach that are crooks. The rest of the people in Costa Rica are lovely. If you do go with them pay for half your trip and the rest at the end or be wise and look at the bad reviews. Never been ripped of like this before, lucky we were not left on the side of the road. Criminals should be ashamed of yourself

We met Crazy Frank on the beach outside of our resort (riu palace) and he was very friendly. We ended up booking a private tour with him to go to the rain forest (saw animals, got very close to a sloth, a lot of monkeys) , hanging bridge to a waterfall, eat a local lunch (yum) and go to the natural mud baths. Our tour guide Magdany was so awesome! We drove with him about 3.5 hours round trip and the whole ride he was telling us all about Costa Rica and the area we were in. He even stopped at a fruit stand on the side of the road and let us try different fruits we have never had before. 10000% recommend booking with them! We also booked a zipline through frank. Very good prices, much cheaper than the resort was offering!

Our group of 14 renting a private Boat from Marco and paid on Paypal 30 minutes before he was to show up at the beach and he never showed, We contacted Marco multiple time to get our money back he never showed up ever time he said he would meet us to give our money back. He uses PayPal family and friend because it is almost impossible to get your money back from PayPal when you do it that way. This guy took our money and ran do not use him.
