- L2215HHannal0 contributionsPrivate Family Kayak and Wine TourOur kayaking and wine tour in Margaret River was an absolute dream! From start to finish, the day was impeccably organized and brimming with unforgettable moments. We started with a kayaking adventure through the region’s stunning waterways, surrounded by breathtaking natural beauty. Our two teenagers couldn’t resist turning it into a playful splashing competition, which added laughter and energy to the serene setting. Lunch at Berry Hill Farms was another standout moment. The picturesque grounds and beautifully prepared meal made it an experience to remember. The food, crafted from fresh, locally sourced ingredients, was simply divine—a true farm-to-table feast that perfectly complemented the day. The wine tasting at boutique wineries was a highlight as well. Each winery had its own charm, offering not only exquisite blends but also fascinating stories behind their creations. The passion and craftsmanship of the winemakers shone through in every glass. Our host, Paul, was the cornerstone of this incredible experience. His deep knowledge of the area, warm hospitality, and flawless attention to detail elevated the day to something truly special. He made our family feel completely welcome and ensured everything flowed effortlessly. If you’re looking for the perfect blend of adventure, relaxation, and indulgence in Margaret River, this tour is an absolute must. Thank you, Paul, for creating such a memorable day for our family!Written December 30, 2024

After contacting the company directly we managed to secure a place on this unique multi adventure trip. So pleased we didn’t miss out! Our host was Paul; he was considerate throughout the day and afforded us his great knowledge of the area, history, flora & fauna! The bikes & kayak equipment were all in good order and we felt safely guided throughout the day. The lunch at Berry Farm was wholesome but we loved the visit to Brownhill Estate winery….Chiara taught us how to skillfully taste & select wine! Obe the dog is also worthy of a mention! We thoroughly enjoyed every part of this adventure day trip and would highly recommend contacting Surf’n’dirt tours to plan your adventure.

What a fantastic adventure filled day. Paul is an incredible tour guide who is very friendly, relaxed and knowledgeable about the area. We loved the 8 km adventurous trail bike ride in Wooditjup National park, with options to try some log jumps! No better way to finish with a Tim Tam. The Kayak on the Blackwood river was another highlight, so peaceful and serene with a cool swim ready for our delicious lunch at the delightful Berry Farm. The wine tasting at Brown Hill was a relaxed and intimate. As locals taking our family out we discovered new spots, learnt more about loving where we live and showcasing our Southwest to family. Thank you Paul for a wonderful day.

WOW, WOW, WOW
What an amazing day we've had. From the moment Paul picked us up this morning until dropping us off at our door it's been AMAZING.
Paul is so knowledgeable and enthusiastic about his surroundings and country. He puts you at ease from the first smile and hand shake.
The day has been absolutely perfect. We did mountain biking first, the ride is pitched at your ability and I oved it. I'm not a mountain biker bit felt safe, comfortable and under no pressure.
The kayaking was the same. I've never been in one before but after instructions from Paul I felt comfortable.
Berry's Farm makes THE most delicious food, I had the vegetable tart and my hubby had the beef pie, both delicious.
Afterwards we went to Brown Hill winery. Nic who did our wine tasting was lovely. We told her our wine tastes and she chose the wines we tasted perfectly.
Can't recommend enough, today has been the highlight of our holiday here.
Thank you Paul for an amazing day, we loved it.

My husband and I booked on to a tour with Paul during our honeymoon, it was honestly fantastic and I could not recommend it highly enough. Paul is so knowledgable and down to earth, he really made the tour for us!
We went mountain biking, kayaking on the most peaceful river, lunch at a farm and to top it off wine tasting!
Paul even bought along comfy chairs so we could relax whilst having a snack and he put the bikes away.
We would definitely recommend and if we are ever back in the area I would most definitely book again.
Thank you Paul 😊

My brother and I booked this tour because of the variety of activities in one day. We cycled through the Wooditjup National Park after which we had a short break. Then we kayaked down the expansive Blackwood river. All the time we were informed about the local flora and fauna. We then cooled off with a short swim in the river.
Afterwards it was lunch at the Berry farm followed by wine tasting at the Brown Hill estate.
We had great conversations with Paul, who single handedly ran the tour. I would recommend this tour to anyone looking for a one day adventure with variety of activity.

Just had the most amazing day yesterday on Surf N' Dirt Adventure Tours Margaret River. We started with a mountain bike through the forrest, the scenery changed 3 times it was so stunning. Then we stopped in to pick up the goodest boy we've ever met (Mojo the boarder collie) on our way to the river. We then launched kayaks and had an easy paddle around Blackwood river, only passing 1 other kayak on the way it felt so secluded and special. Mojo loves the water and actually jumped on our kayak and let us paddle him around! After kayaking we had a swim in the river while our guide Paul prepared us lunch. Then, we were off to do a (very generous) wine tasting. I texted a few days before as we are both vegan and Paul was very accommodating to dietaries and went out of his way to make sure we had lots to eat and that the wine tasting would be with vegan wines. It was only $170pp and included hotel pick-up/drop off, snacks, water, lunch, activities and the wine tasting. Such good value for what we saw! If anyone is coming to Margaret River I would highly recommend contacting Paul (0458191469)

Paul planned the perfect day for us as a family of 4, the activities were appropriate for our children (5&7) and they loved experiencing kayaking for the first time and cycling along the Margaret river. They loved the sense of adventure.
Paul took us to the Berry Farm for lunch which was delicious and had a great park for the girls.
Paul gave us lots of interesting information about the forest and local area. We loved going into the national parks for a wander.
Highly recommended day out!!

Hi, is it possible to do this tour with kids? We have a 10 and a 12 year old. Both good at cycling.
Regards,
George
Written April 12, 2019
I would check with the guy who runs the tour as I think he has only adult mountain bikes. But then I suppose it depends how tall your kids are...! Apart from that, I am sure they would be OK with the cycling as the organiser can adjust how difficult the routes are. If they can paddle a kayak (presumably with an adult in each kayak) then that should not be a problem. Paul, who runs this tour, is very friendly and approachable.
