      Disappointed
Discovery 2 we was told by TUI let us pick your cabin worst thing we ever done we was put at the back of the ship only one cabin was further away not only that all the cabins were family ones with children we are both 70 plus the cabin was not up to scratch the sheets was soiled and not fresh had to complain to the cabin staff to have them replaced the balcony was rust everywhere the shower had mould on the shower curtain and the whole suite was very tired and outdated we was also told that our balcony will be cleaned what they did not inform us was that when washed the balcony all the stuff from the balcony next to us will be left on our balcony not very pleased hair a dirt left on our balcony when we come back to our cabin this so-called deluxe cabin but there was no deluxe in the cabin so my cabin was missed represented I have the pictures and the state of my cabin this is our fourth Cruise with TUI and we are very disappointment and could be our last

      Don't do it.
Waste of money, didn't see anything much, nothing that couldn't been seen from side of river walkway. Don't waste your time and money.

Great River Cruise experience. Best way to see Catarat Gorge
Absolutely amazing. Relaxing, fun and such great views. The 2 gentlemen Tim & James were such a hoot, providing great information, commentary and such good hands on experiences for the kids. Absolutely worth the time and dollars

      Not worthwhile
To be honest you didn't see much more than you can see from the dock. I think this cruise should be cancerlled. The pilot was very good.

      Not much to see
The cruise pilot was great but in reality as far as the short cruise goes, you don’t really see much more than what you can see from the dock, sadly could not recommend

      Nice tour
Interesting tour to see the gorge and learn a bit about the area, the river, the city. Nice thing to do as alternative to walking the gorge.

      A Cruise without Any Commentary
Date of Cruise: 31 March 2024 We thoroughly enjoyed the river cruise, taking in the breathtaking views along the river and the Cataract Gorge. However, we were disappointed that our skipper did not give any commentary at all after he welcomed all of us on board. It would have been very informative to know the different places that we cruised by along the way as well as any other interesting information about the Gorge. ☹️😞😔

      Good, inexpensive, interesting cruise.
Nice cruise. Good value and the cruise captain was knowledgeable about the area. Informative. We were appreciative of the company as they held the cruise for a few minutes because we were a little late due to traffic. On the down side, the cruise was full when we arrived so people had to sit outside. No big deal though.

      Cruising Cataract Gorge Currents
The river cruise offered an overall average experience. I opted for this trip to give my partner a break from driving, and while the river cruise wasn't exceptional, it was decent. However, the true standout moments were found at the remarkable Cataract Gorge and the historic old bridge. They were the clear highlights of our trip.

      Dissapointed
Beautiful view of the Launceston area but unfortunately our tour guide didn't have much to say & we didn't learn anything about the Cataract Gorge. He was too busy chatting with some other guest on board & there was no goodbye or thankyou as he was still chatting to the same guests. We come on these type of river cruises to learn a bit about the area we are visiting & we learnt nothing on this one so very disappointing. Also heard some other guests saying the same thing as we came off.

We did the 4 hour luncheon cruise which takes you all the way up to the Batman Bridge, and then into Cataract Gorge toward the end. We enjoyed this cruise and the scenery along the way. The Captain was very informative and provided us with the history of Launceston. He had plenty of interesting stories to tell, including one about Matthew Brady, a bush ranger who spent time hiding along the Tamar river. Lunch was good, and the boat itself is very comfortable. Overall we enjoyed our cruise along the Tamar river.

Wonderful way to experience the Tamar River n Cataract Gorge, the slow cruise up the gorge was fabulous with plenty of opportunities to take photos and listen to the commentary. Unfortunately we had to sit out on the back deck (no room inside) on plastic garden chairs for 4 hours and the noise of the engine made the commentary completely inaudible for the entire trip up to the Batman Bridge and back. The plastic windows were very hard to see through so the trip was spent looking out a gap in the back. Moving up to the front deck for photos was a great opportunity. When in full throttle the boat created quite a wake and as it came to a quick stop to see the wildlife the wake washed into the back of the boat making it wet n sloppy. Any bags on the floor would have got very wet. Lovely morning tea n lunch served on the boat, with self serve tea n coffee. Plenty of muffins n cake. Rolls n focaccia with plenty of filling, fruit n cheese platter …certainly enjoyed by those seated inside. This is a fantastic cruise opportunity but just make sure you get a seat inside or upstairs.

The commentary was just right. Informative, interesting and delivered in segments along the way. We really appreciated the captain asking people to refrain from talking loud at the relevant time so others could hear the commentary. There was plenty of food for morning tea and lunch.

We did the 4 hour river cruise with lunch. This included a trip up the Cataract Gorge. The captain gave a description of everything of interest as we passed, including any wildlife that he spotted from the bridge. Lunch was excellent with plenty of sandwiches etc. The trip up the gorge was interesting and again the captain gave a full explanation of the history of the gorge.

It's a good way to see the area if you've four hours to kill. The skipper's talk is interesting and less corny than most. Lunch is sandwiches, and it's really a fine weather trip.

Enjoyed a lovely 4 hr boat trip with this company including a lovely lunch, limitless coffee, and some wine and cheese tasting. Only a small number of passengers on the boat in the current Pandemic climate, but lovely friendly group. The 2 staff were lovely and friendly. The skipper knew SO much of the history of the area and was so informative. Thanks for a lovely few hours

A lovely enjoyable, relaxing and informative cruise, together with a lovely luncheon. Extremely well organised with great commentary. We had a lovely group of people on board. So enjoyed cruising on the Tamar. We highly recommend this cruise to visitors to Launceston. The 4 hour cruise goes further and you see a whole different perspective from the river than when driving.

We just had to do this trip as we see the boat on the Tamar every day from our home. It was fantastic. Beautiful scenery from the water and we learnt a lot about the rivers history from Callum who gave a wonderful commentary and thankyou Gemma for taking care of the passengers with wine tastings and a a yummy lunch. Thoroughly recommend this cruise.

A nice cruise if you wish to hear 3+ hrs of commentary up the river and back.
Not ideal for groups catching up and talking while enjoying the cruise, unless you are prepared to stay in the lower deck with limited views and airflow.
Ideally the skipper should have noise cancelling air plugs or a closed off area so the top deck is available to enjoy the view as well as socialise without feeling uncomfortable.
Morning tea and lunch was very good.
