A Brilliant Day on Maria Island with an Amazing Guide!
I had an amazing time on the Maria Island tour, and I highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area! Our guide, Carl, was fantastic and truly made the experience unforgettable. The route itself offered brilliant views, and we even had the chance to identify several species of animals, which was such a rewarding part of the tour. Carl’s knowledge about the island’s history was impressive. He shared so many fascinating facts about the island, and I especially loved learning fun tidbits about specific plants and animals. His expertise added so much depth to the tour, and it really enhanced our experience. The whole trip was perfectly organized. It was a full-day tour, but it never felt too long. The two routes were a comfortable length, and we got to experience a lot without feeling rushed. The well-planned itinerary allowed us to enjoy both the stunning landscapes and the wildlife, making the day feel both relaxing and enriching. Overall, this tour was an absolute highlight of my trip, and I can’t imagine having the same experience if we had explored the island on our own. Carl’s guidance made everything so much more informative and enjoyable. If you’re planning a trip to Maria Island, I definitely recommend this tour!

This tour is so gorgeous! Our tour guide -Heather, is so professional and knowledgeable! This tour is worth to visit!! You can see the waterfall bay, which is spectacular. When you visit Tasmania Devil unzoo, you can also feed kangaroos on your own. Port Arthur is historical building that you can’t miss to visit. Richmond is a lovely village.

      Great place for some nature
We had a great time at the Tahune Airwalk. Be prepared for a long winding drive. You need to be aware and take care as there are logging trucks using the road. There also isn’t any wifi service. The area had a significant bushfire in 2019 so be prepared for fire damage which has impacted the vegetation. The entrance fee is about $30 per person for unlimited access to the walks and small info centre. The staff were very helpful and we were able to access the buggy for a person with less mobility. The airwalk was very good and we enjoyed the cantilever. Food was good with some reasonable choices and prices were ok. Well worth the visit.

      Tahune Airwalk and Hastings Cave
A most enjoyable day out from Hobart, with a visit to the Tahune Airwalk with it's impressive views and lovely walk through the forest and over the suspension bridges. Then on to Hastings Cave with it's amazing formations and informative guided tour. (There was an option to swim in the thermal pool which I didn't bother with... full of wriggling children on school holiday!... although the short walk near the pool was very pleasant). Guide Nick was great company, knowledgeable, full of entertaining stories and interesting information. We stopped at a farm-gate stall on the way home and I got some of the most delicious cherries I have ever tasted! Recommended!

Great day out exploring the stunning national parks.
Fantastic day visiting 2 amazing places of natural beauty. Not for the faint hearted if you don’t like steps, as there are 400 of them, but well worth the effort. Lucas was a brilliant guide, very friendly, enthusiastic and full of knowledge about the areas, the wildlife, the plants and trees. The wildlife sanctuary was good too, and we got to see the Tasmanian devils. If I had the time I would do the whole trip again. Thoroughly recommend

      Amazing walks and views!
Nathan was an amazing guide! He made everyone feel welcome and knew so much about Tasmania. The Tahune Airwalk is easy for most people to do. I enjoyed doing the Franklin River walk (50min)but wish I walked faster to fit in the Huon Pine 20minute walk. I heard that was amazing! Hastings cave was breathtakingly beautiful. Totally worth going!

Heather is a great guide with Tours Tasmania.
We did three tours with Heather from Tours Tasmania while staying in Hobart. Maria Island, Mount Field/Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary and the Freycinet Peninsula. An excellent guide, very well spoken, knowledgeable and courteous. Each day was most enjoyable.

      Sorry I'm English?
Bruny Island was amazing, the tour guide not so much. To premise this review, I am English with an Aussie partner. I am the only one of my family living in Australia so I am accustomed to the rivalries between our nations and usually enjoy the banter with my in-laws who can be brutal (whilst remaining funny) at times. The tour guide (Ben) was aware I was English. Unfortunately for much of this trip I felt uncomfortable with the tour guide due to his frequent negative comments about England. The comments were not about the rivalries between our nations and felt personal and sincere. The comments were inaccurate and at times offensive. Within an hour of the trip I had listened to a 10 minute rant about how sh*t my nation was - happy holidays! The comments continued throughout the tour. There was no negative comments made about any other nation or state, adding to the isolation I experienced on this tour. However, do not discredit Tours Tasmania. We had Peter for our Port Arthur trip earlier in the week who was one of the best guides we've had across multiple tours in various countries. Unfortunately a guide can really make or break the trip, and with this company we experienced both.

Tour guide Ben was just fantastic. He is an asset to the company and really played an important role into making the day as me
Fantastic guide and scenery was just beautiful along with the informative discussions whilst driving and experiencing the beauty of the caves and whilst on the air walk. Made sure everyone was safe and felt included.

      Very nice tour and unzoo
The highlight was the unzoo. Seeing T. Devils in person was amazing. The unzoo and explanations were a real highlight. The tour driver, Ian, provided more insights into Tasmania, the devils and local information. He explained goals of the island and much more. Great tour.

      A Great Tour Experience
Here’s a polished review based on your experience: **Exceptional Tour Experience with Nathan** I had the pleasure of joining a tour guided by Nathan at the Tahune Airwalk and Hastings Caves, and it was nothing short of amazing! Nathan was incredibly nice, accommodating, and made a genuine effort to remember everyone’s names, which added such a personal touch. The Tahune Airwalk was breathtaking, the swinging bridge was thrilling, and the Hastings Caves were absolutely magnificent. To top it all off, I enjoyed the best-tasting apple crumble of my life—it was a real treat! This experience made my birthday truly memorable, and I can’t recommend this tour enough. Thank you!

      Well worth the trip.
What a great thing to do in southern Tassie. It’s a drive, but a beautiful one. The road is sealed all the way and it’s in good condition. The staff were friendly and the air walk was amazing. We also did the eagle hang life/zip line. Well worth it. The long loop traversed 2 swing bridges and was an easy 1 hour walk.

      Great experience
Great tour. The Mt Field hike is about 3 hours long and has a lot of stairs in two locations. You can leave after the first couple of falls and go back to the visitor center, but at that point, we were 1/3 way through the loop and majority of the group wanted to continue. Tour guide went on full loop with us so whole group went. Great seeing it all but was too much walking for a couple of people in our group. The tour guide was fabulous and pointed out many interesting things on our hike. Fun time at the wildlife center and beautiful views from Mt. Wellington.

First of all, there are a few things to keep in mind when considering this tour. The policy does not allow any cancels after the booking, so make sure you have made your mind before the final click. Also, be prepared for chances of strong winds and rain, which will affect the choice of gear and sometimes of the trekking route. Both of these points are made clear on the site and we did not experience any problems, but should be kept in mind when planning for your trip.
With that said, the tour is a great option if you are up for a interesting and rewarding hike. Luckily, the weather on the day of our tour was good enough for us to visit Marion's Lookout, which allows a great view of Cradle Mountain and Dove Lake. From there we took a flatter route back, passing small ponds, rivers, and forests on the way. This route choice let us appreciate the diverse and changing scenery in the area without too much exhaustion, even though we were inexperienced as hikers. A lucky encounter with wombats and wallabies at a place the guide took us after the hike was the perfect cherry on top, ending the day of Tasmanian nature experience.

Simon was our tour guide/ driver. He was excellent at delivering local knowledge at places we visited, knew the best bakeries to shop at for lunch. Was very good with time management, he got out and opened the van door at each stop. Very friendly and gave us a great experience. Thank you Simon. I felt very safe with you driving, well done.

A freezing morning turned into a stunning day in the Cradle Mountain National Park. Our driver/guide Graeme was amazing - full of knowledge and expertise not only on the Mountain but also pointing out sites and places of interest along the way. Small group of six, able to spend ample time in the Park and choose walks to our ability. Highly recommend Tours Tasmaina for hiking in this special place

This was a fantastic tour. I spent the day with Simon who had many interesting facts about all of the areas we visited and was very flexible with the day. Beautiful views and all of the stops were lovely! We also saw quite a few wombats, kangaroos, and wallabies! I would recommend bringing proper rain gear as it apparently rains in the Cradle Mountain area 300 days a year and it was certainly wet and rainy when we went. Proper hiking shoes are recommended as well! Will definitely recommend this tour :)

I did this tour as part of the 'Big Three' three-day tour from Hobart to Launceston. The day started early picking everyone up from their hotels and heading to the first stop, a place offering coffee and all sort of breakfast/lunch options for eat-in or takeaway. After purchasing our breakfast/lunch for the day, we headed towards Cradle Mountain. The first walk was a short but peaceful walk inside the national park. We then hopped back into the van to drive deeper into the national park and closer to Cradle Mountain. We parked by Dove Lake where the guide explained the various options for trails before we all parted ways. A girl I had met on the bus and myself opted for the hike up to Marion's Lookout together. It was a difficult upward climb, especially since we were moving at a fairly quick pace. It took us approximately an hour to reach the top, but once we got up there the views were spectacular. Because we had made such good time, we were able to relax and have lunch without being rushed. Once finished, we headed down towards Dove Lake. The climb down was steeper than expected, but they have a chain rope most of the way you can hold onto. I was grateful for this when my foot slipped a couple of times on the loose stone. We were good on time so we were also able to do the walk around Dove Lake (counter-clockwise from the parking lot). There were a couple of spots with an uphill climb, but this was much easier than the hike up to Marion's lookout. Once we all met back at the van, we drove to another area of the park for a brief chance to roam around and try to spot wombats. Last stop on the tour was to the Ashgrove Cheese Factory to sample cheeses and purchase goodies or ice cream. Overall, it was a long and tiring day, but it was so exhilarating and worth the effort. The guide was also extremely informed and experienced, making the day more enjoyable and run smoothly.

Fantastic tour. Graeme was an excellent guide, full of knowledge and provided clear instructions for our hike up the mountain. Certainly recommend this tour, in fact it would be among the top couple of day tours we have ever taken, if not the best.
We took the option for the hike up to Marion’s lookout with our 10 year old. Whilst challenging in parts it was done fairly comfortably. Our son led the party down to the bottom. Going down using the link path looked challenging and steep but with the chains provided for much of the trip down it was relatively straightforward. Anyone who is reasonably fit can do the hike up to Marion’s.

The hike is clearly identifiable, has some boardwalks, good steps and markers to tell you where to go. There is a steep bit towards the top which has chains you use to pull you up. But really not too difficult (imo).

Again highly recommend this day trip. You will certainly get a good nights sleep after the day.

Our guide was extremely knowledgeable of the indigenous and modern history of the region. He kept us on a tight schedule which was great so we could maximize the day. He provided additional clothing if we needed it and recommend the trails best suited for our individual needs.

Wet and cold. Can't control weather. But it was a hike. Tour guide man said it takes 40min to an hour for the dove circuit... unless your as fit as an Olympic athlete, you can complete in 2hours if you keep going fast and not stop. Sad I couldn't enjoy it.

The best part of this tour is the fact that you have the option of which trails at Cradle Mountain to hike. You don't walk in a group so no need to wait for slow walkers. It's a bit hectic but you can do both the Marions lookout hike and the walk around the lake.

Our affable, considerate, knowledgble, passionate, respectful, generous Guide was brilliant! He had every base covered with location maps, ability to have guests on side to adhere to meeting times, variety which he thoroughly enjoyed too, quality destinations, good advice on how to tackle each destination, keenness for us all to have good photographic memories, love of the nature, history, food, wine and Launceston and near destinations. It was our absolute pleasure to be on board with Damian, on both days. The first day we travelled to Cradle Mountain, the second to Wine Glass Bay. Both days, we had the same consistency and quality offered. We were so pleased to have booked with Tours Tasmania and understand from our experience why the ratings are so high! We are extremely grateful.
