We really enjoyed the tour and it was a good relaxing break from skiing!!
We had a wonderful time on the tour! John was a fantastic tour guide and host! The lunch was amazing with five meats paired with five wines which was thoroughly devoured by us and our table. The wine cave was also really interesting and we have never been anywhere like it. We were also able to explore around Arrowtown which broke up the trip nicely.

Terrific tour of the Central Otago wineries
A terrific option to overview the Central Otago region. Our host John was excellent, passionate with a good level of knowledge of the region. We visited 4 lovely wineries - Nockies, then Carrick for lunch (filling but modest charcuterie platter), Misha’s Vineyard and Mt Rosa. These wineries were of excellent quality and the latter two wineries spending time to explain the wines one by one. A very enjoyable day - roughly 5 hours.

Donna was absolutely amazing! We had so much fun visiting four stunning wineries and learning the history of not only the wineries, but the town of Otago. Left with a buzz so can’t complain!

    Pleasant experience
Highly suggest getting Paul as your tour guide and driver. He's super knowledgeable on wine, loves wine himself, and loves to help with suggestions on your tasting. Paul was so fun and friendly throughout, that it made for an enjoyable experience. The 4 vineyards we visited were amazing and each with relaxing, beautiful scenery! And of course, amazing wine!

We had a fantastic day with Carla our guide and 6 other great people who we soon got to know well. We were picked up from our hotel on time at 11am in a comfortable van and we visited 4 smaller wineries, each with a host to describe the wines that we were to taste and we also had a filling platter lunch at Carrick winnery with fantastic views across the valley. Carla was an excellent and knowledgeable guide, filling in the ride with her local knowledge. We arrived back at our hotel around 4.30 having made great new friends on the trip.

    A very enjoyable tour
A good value tour covering the main attractions around Queenstown. We had a great guide & saw Queenstown lookout, the bungy jumping, visited a local winery for tasting and had some free time in Arrowtown. As we didn't have a car this was a great way to get around.

A fantastic day trip if you have some time to spare in QT.
We did this wine tour with our 8 yo girl bc Cardrona was closed due to inclement weather. From adults perspective: 10/10. Martin our driver was amazingly informative and punctual. The wineries chosen were fantastic, a great mix. The drive through from QT to Cromwell and back through magnificent valleys was incredible, Martin being an outstanding tour guide. Even took us off the beaten track to show some historical sights. This tour is not for kids. Our daughter was quite bored even though we were so delighted. Value for money: 9/10. You get a fantastic lunch along the way.

The highlight of my Queenstown visit
This tour was my favorite part of my three days in Queenstown, while visiting NZ from the U.S. There were eight of us (couples and solos) from around the world. From the terrific wine tastings at different vineyards, to the amazing family style lunch (lamb, beef, pork, shrimp and salmon plates, all with wine pairings), to making new friends over the course of a day, it was wonderful. Thank you!

A fantastic wine tasting trip and a great way to spend an afternoon.
Picked up from our Airbnb and taken to 3 very different wineries with no pressure to purchase (but of course we did because the wines were delicious!). Kinross was our favourite, but the cave at Gibbston Valley was a cool experience.
Gary our tour guide was fabulous with loads of knowledge about the history of the area and the wines!
Highly recommend this tour.

Didn't come to this with any expectations as we are not very much into wine but this was a fun and informative afternoon tasting and learning about the wine in this region. Our tour guide, Gary, made it all the more special with his sense of humour, passion and knowledge of the wine and the wineries. We were impressed that he went out of his way to make the tour special even when things happened out of his control. The wineries chosen (Mt Rosa, Gibbston Valley and Kinross) were not only all spectacular but each had their own individual take, making for a very interesting afternoon.

The whole experience was fantastic. Our tour guide for the afternoon was Gary, he was extremely knowledgeable on the area, the wine and the history. We visited three amazing wineries in the area, including a Cave Tour at Gibbston Valley. Thoroughly enjoyed all of the wines throughout the day and the cheeseboard at Kinross. Perfect activity for a rainy afternoon.

We were lucky enough to have Gary as our tour guide, He was entertaining and humorous and displayed a very good knowledge of the local wines as well as a good general knowledge of wine making,

Our final stop was Kincross, my personal fave. We got a beautiful cheese platter to share and an excellent tasting. We were impressed that due to the previous tasting running over schedule, Gary took us out to the vines and gave a short but very informative overview of the harvest, vines and how the grapes are grown.

A must do for anyone who likes a wine or two

Wow what a fabulous wine tour. Had Gary the lovely London lad take us for a tour. Super informative and relaxed. Joined a super lovely family from Tauranga who were down for a holiday in Queenstown. We went to Mt Rosa Die wine and cheese, which was a really awesome personable tasting With good wine and cheese, followed by a wine cave tour with paddy at gibbston valley, and finishing with beer wine and chips at Waitiri Creek. Had a blast and can’t recommend Gary and the appellation wine tour crew highly enough.

After tossing up whether to do the hop on hop off bus I am so pleased we chose Appellation Tours instead. Door to door service and Gary our guide was knowledgeable, fun and professional. We were guaranteed seating at all wineries and there was no queuing or waiting around for tastings and cellar tours. Something you need to think about when it’s cold outside! Just so seamless and easy. Beautiful wines and a great afternoon with lots of information and laughs. Thanks Gary!

This was a good way to taste wines from a few vineyards and not have to worry about driving. Some very nice wines, but the trip was made extra good due to our driver Paul. He shared his great knowledge of the vineyards and wineries of the region and it's history. Ask him about panning for gold.

We had a wonderful half-day wine tour. John, our expert guide is thoroughly knowledgeable about Central Otago wines and the history of the region.

We visited 3 wineries and sampled at least 4 of their wines. Lunch was at an additional winery and they offered us a flight of 4 of their wines.

This was a great introduction to the wines of Central Otago.

This tour was great value and a terrific way to spend a beautiful afternoon in Queenstown. Our tour guide Gary was an excellent source of knowledge and a genuine wine enthusiast too.
We visited three wineries and enjoyed a lovely cheese plate and glass of Pinot noir at the final stop. Highly recommended.
