- travelwquinn0 contributionsAbsolutely recommendLoz took me out to Fern Hill and we had a great day. It’s obvious that he’s passionate about the outdoors, climbing, and showing people the ropes. Even when you’re resting it’s still great because you can ask to pick his brain on anything related to climbing like safety, gear, technique etc. Thanks for a great first time outdoor climbing!Written September 18, 2022
- 761taylors0 contributionsBest outdoor climbing courseTHE most amazing three-day climbing instruction course. I said I wanted to learn how to lead-climb on my local crag, so Loz came all the way out from Wanaka to do just that. Three days jam-packed with learning, climbing, and a whole lot of fun! Loz was incredibly knowledgeable and a terrific teacher--relaxed and patient but meticulous about making sure I had understood and was capable of performing all the steps necessary to climb safely and confidently outdoors. I really appreciated the thought he put into finding a different way of explaining things he could see I wasn't getting. We even ended up doing a couple of multi-pitch climbs, which was fantastic! Just a great experience with Climbing Queenstown from the first e-mail on--I can't recommend them highly enough. And what a beautiful place to go climbing ...Written January 18, 2022
- bhayden220 contributionsFun activity! Our family had a great day with Andrew. It is hard to find good activities for a 6 year old girl to 12 year old boy and also that the parents enjoy. This did that and was about perfect, all kids were begging for more climbing time by the end and it was so cool to see the confidence they gained throughout the day. Special day for our family and highly recommended.Written February 25, 2020
- brotherjohn880 contributionsBest views in QueenstownGreat day climbing walls. We headed up to Hero Wall with Andrew, who picked us up from our accomodation and set us up to climb. We're both climbing novices, great knowledge of climbing and the local area, stellar day on the rock, with some stunning views over Queenstown. Would definitely hit up again!Written February 10, 2020
- ConnieD290 contributionsAmazing! Highly recommend itMy husband and I booked the half day guided alpine snowshoe and it was amazing. Chris our guide was incredible. He had so much knowledge and understanding of every aspect of mountaineering and the snow itself. In terms of experience- we had none whatsoever for snowshoeing and this was a wonderful way to be introduced to it as the views were incredible. I never felt rushed or worried. Thank you again Chris for your time and expertise. We will be back!Written August 8, 2019
- h0llyPop0 contributionsQueenstown Climbing- solid half day and more!!I wasn’t sure what to expect booking on climbing in the wintery month of June( & knowing that I was the only one booked on the day)- I had such a good day with Jamie!! The best of the guided activities I’ve done in Queenstown honestly - from pick up Jamie is personable ,good chat- I felt very safe under his expert guidance. Jamie made it so comfortable ,it really felt like climbing with a friend. As a gym climber I learnt a lot- after a stunning 40 min approach including a waterfall and climbing a three fun routes in Wye Creek ,Jamie asked me if I wanted to practice anchor building - I learned a lot! Jamie is patient and answered everything in good spirits and is a vast bucket of knowledge! Weather wise -It was brisk out but not uncomfortable at all (if you’re thinking of going climbing in June and get a sunny day I’d say def do it!-I’m really glad I did. Thanks a million Jamie for fab day and making my first climbing experience in NZ an amazing one! Climb on!Written June 26, 2019
- Wander010933550080 contributionsGreat guide, great fun!My wife and I hired a guide (Jamie) from this company while we were there in December. Jamie was awesome - super friendly and very passionate about climbing. Was helpful to rent all of the gear too (ropes, shoes, chalk, helmets, belay devices etc). He put together a good variety of routes for my wife and I - my wife doesn't climb much/at all, whereas I climb pretty regularly. We both had a good time. And you can't beat the views while you're up there! An awesome day! My only comment to the company is that I would love it if the crag (Arawata Terrace) was added to Mountain Project. I'd love to be able to look back in years to come and remember where we climbed.Written May 1, 2019
- Quest513587872790 contributionsStunning views of QueenstownQuite Good. Idea of climbing a rock face with just someone on belay isn't everyone's cup of tea, but the guide was good at getting you out of comfort zone and encouraging you. Stunning views of Queenstown and Lake Wakatipu (whether you wanted them or not!). You do get a sense of achievement afterwards, so its something to tick off the list of things to do in QT, so overall would recommend this. And as it doesn't take that long, you can still fit in a lot on the rest of the day.Written April 29, 2019

I had a wonderful time, a great company to deal with and very professional. I also got some great photos sent to me, which was a nice surprise. Excellent trip, easy walk to ridgeline to be met with amazing views. Makes you feel on top of the world. Not too difficult, so suitable for most people. Great friendly guides who also gave us a lot of information about the snow conditions, and what to be aware off for avalanche risk. Highly recommend.

Other snowshoeing walks on flat ground pale in comparison with this one! Our guide Jamie made the entire walk up and down really fun and interesting, and there were amazing uninterrupted views every step of the way. The awesome 360 degree panorama that hits you when you reach the top of the Remarkables Range (enjoyed with piping hot tea carried up by our guide!) was absolutely rewarding and unforgettable. One of the more unique activities to do in Queenstown!

It sounds like you took advantage of a stellar day after some fresh snow! When the sun is shining and the weather is clear there is nothing better than a good day spent up in the mountains so soak in some views. You are very welcome for the thanks, we're happy that you had such a great time.
