Such an amazing experience! Lucky enough to have a clear day with a snow landing on the glacier. Booked last minute but it because the highlight of our trip!

The weather gods were kind after failed attempts at a flight at Franz Joseph and Fox Glacier and we finally got to enjoy a mind blowing flight. We were very grateful for Ann’s coordination and persistence in getting us in the air on our second day of trying for this flight, especially working around a pre booked cruise. We were expecting a scenic flight over Milford Sound, but this was SO much MORE. The view of the spectacular ranges seemed endless, and a vastly different perspective than from ground level. After flying over Sutherland falls and Lake Quill (and other tarns) we dropped down to land on a ridge for more photo opportunities. We alighted from the helicopter and looked back at the falls and lake, across a massive void. There was ample opportunity to take photos of the falls and surrounding mountain tops, while marvelling at the skill level of our pilot Dion. Our second landing was on Tutoko glacier and again allowed time for stunning photo opportunities and a quick walk around the soft snow. There were 4 passengers on our flight and 3 of us were able to rotate through the front seat. The pilot excelled at banking and turning the helicopter to enable all passengers to get the best possible views. The commentary and information provided by the pilot was educational and interesting. This really was a once in a life time experience which far exceeded our expectations and has provided memories that will last a lifetime. You can’t put a price on that. Thank you everyone at Milford Sound Helicopters who made this possible. You have an awesome job. 😊

Once in a lifetime experience with great crew! Our pilot was knowledgeable, cool and helpful and the guy running the office even gave us a ride to our cruise due to tight timing - great service, amazing experience, highly recommend!

The staff were great at accommodating a solo traveller with others and Chris the pilot was fab at taking photos for us. Views and feeling of being on a glacier are incredible and definitely worth it

We were driving from Te Anau to Milford specially to fly on top of the Glazer. Because of the weather, we couldn’t land on the Glazier, but I expected to get some kind of compensation, which I didn’t. That was quite disappointing.

We absolutely loved this tour and it was a definite highlight of our week away. Very glad that we went with the Grand Tour option as the additional flight time was 100% worth it. The views were spectacular and the commentary and banter was great. Always reassuring to be flown by safe, experienced operators. Massive thanks to the pilot for the tidbit of local knowledge about the swimming hole just off the Milford Road too - great spot for a dip on our way home! Looking forward to flying with Milford Helicopters or Te Anau Helicopter Services again in the future. Date of experience: February 2022

We decided on our bus tour to Milford Sound to take one of the Milford helicopters back to Queenstown. Not only were the views stunning, but we stopped on top of a mountain and got out for photographs. The pilot was superb and really seemed to enjoy his job. This was worth the money- stunning views!!!

We flew with a awesome pilot (Mike?) for a scenic flight at Sutherland Falls, the above lying mounting lake, over the sound to a nearby glacier. We had landings at both the waterfall and on the glacier. Very skilled pilot, who took us (very!!) close to both the water in the waterfalls and ice-boulders on the edge of the glacier. Worth every penny - our kids age 2 and 4 also found it amazing.

The other day fly out of Milford on Milford helicopters and was awesome had a alpine landing which was pretty cool and would definitely recommend

This heli ride was so perfect. We were met by the charming pilot as we came off the Cruise boat and we walked over to the helicopter, waiting. We took off and rose up over Milford Sound, what a spectacular sight. Up to the Glazier where we landed and walk out over the ice and snow. Then we set off again, through those vast mountains, past small turquoise lakes and finally down into the river delta into Lake Wakatipu where parts of Lord of the Rings was filmed. We were met by a taxi who brought is back to Queenstown. Do this trip if you can.

We were lucky to arrive at Milford Sound on a sunny day, and had the option for a 25 minute helicoptor ride over some of the Southern Alps. We had come so far, we decided to spend the extra $, and are so happy we did. We got a very careful safety briefing before our flight, and the pilot was also very careful and responsible. The flight was outstanding! worth every penny. Awesome views, and landing high up on a (sort of) level place between two mountains was so exciting. There were 6 people on our flight, and he pilot was very thoughtful: rotated who got to sit in the front seat, on the way up and on the way back. I would strongly recommend doing this, if you possibly can find the money to.

Utterly breathtaking. Bernie the pilot was awesome. Landing on the glacier made me cry! It was simply breathtaking. We were the first to land that day, the snow was fresh, the sun was shining and the sky was so blue - we couldn't have ordered better conditions. Such an amazing experience.

It was a wonderful experience to fly over the mountains and waterfalls and see this beautiful scenery from above. Hamish our pilot was a competent pilot and very informative; he knew the area well. The trip was organized like clockwork, we were well briefed by a very enthusiastic Anne in the office. The weather was perfect and we would like to thank the team at Milford Helicopters very much and wish them well for their future.
