About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- BelindaJT0 contributionsA lot to see in one day for a taste of the countryside of the South IslandFantastic day from start to finish. Loved the bakery stop to buy breakfast, there were two walks or one hike on offer at Mt Cook. Even though the weather was ordinary I loved driving through the changing landscapes of New Zealand and can’t wait to go back to Mt Cook when the weather is clear!Written August 20, 2024
- 453tabithat0 contributionsCouldn’t have asked for a better guide!100/10! Brent was an amazing guide and a wealth of knowledge. This was our first time in NZ and couldn’t have asked for a better guide. We did private transport from Christchurch to Kaikoura and learned so much from him. On time, professional and super fun guide!Written August 7, 2024

- J4160OIjuliam0 contributionsGreat variety in a dayVan was comfortable, and drinks with snacks were appreciated. Lunch was ok but not great. Guide was engaging and personal. Selection of stops was nice. They could have been shorter but I know timing was important. A good day in general. Food on train was pretty sad though.Written April 20, 2024
- Nicole S0 contributionsHighlight of My Trip to the South IslandWOW just wow, without a doubt the best experience of my trip to New Zealand. My group just happened to be all girls my age, and the tour operator matched our energy to the max. He gave us plenty of time in each destination and took so many pictures for us. This tour was so fun and provided SO much food. Every time we’d leave the van and come back there was a new snack bag. The bakery was so cute, eclectic, and yummy! You definitely get your bang for your buck. If you do one tour in the South Island, make it this one.Written March 24, 2024
- 642rajc0 contributionsMt CookA beautiful place to visit a must for trekking and view . Unfortunately we were passing through could not stay longer . We stopped at the cafe for lunch and watched beautiful view from the balconyWritten March 23, 2024
- H9027VXnikkih0 contributionsWell organised and a great day out seeing some amazing places. Our guide, Willem, was great, he was very informed and friendly. It was a lovely group too - it wasn't too big to be impersonal like some tours can be. The places we saw were fantastic, wonderful views and Willem had some great stories too. The train ride back was also awesome, even though it was running late and Willem met us at the other end to make sure we were dropped off safely at our stops, despite the lateness of the train. Well organised and well worth it.Written March 22, 2024
- Maps620532853550 contributionsfive stars !My first trip to NZ. This has been delightful experience. Beautiful views, just the right amount of hikes and rests (some of us also did a jet ski boating along the way -- super fun!). The guide Clive was experienced, knowledgable, friendly... Highly recommend !Written March 19, 2024

The tour was cancelled by Cheeky Kea Tours 2 months before the trip. I struggled to get a refund for the $5682.98 I had paid for my mother and myself. I had to resort to applying for a merchant refund through my bank to get the money back. It caused me a lot of stress, I only got the refund after 2 months. We were offered no decent alternative by Cheeky Kea Tours, as we wanted to do a 14 day South Island tour and go to some specific places. So we had to book a 14 day South Island tour with another company since the tour went to some of the places we wanted to go. As Cheeky Kea Tours just gave us 2 months notice that the tour would be cancelled, we lost the $299.23 we paid for flights to Christchurch. We had to pay for flights to Christchurch for the new tour we booked as it had different starting and ending dates from the Cheeky Kea Tour we originally booked.

Hi,
As per our Terms and Conditions we can cancel a multi day tour with as little as 1mnths notice.
To inconvenience our customers as minimally as possible we decided to cancel a few of these tours earlier than the 4 week notice period.
At this time a few of our competitors still had tours available, We also offered you single day tour options that could have been booked to get you around the country. However, you were not interested.
It is on the customer to get Travel Insurance for any travels to cover such issues.
