About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Wolverine1540 contributionsDid Zipline only-well run & fun activity just outside the cityAdventure park that’s a lot more pleasant & much less dangerous than the adventure park in Jackass’s Johnny Knoxville’s documentary “Class Action Park”.:) Tried ziplining once about 15 years ago at a national park in the deepest canyon in Colombia & it was quite “meh”-almost w/o any thrill at all so this was never on my radar again. But it was my last full day in NZ/Christchurch & it was already a cloudy day after the prior day which was pure sunny bliss walking around CC so I said, what the heck. Still didn’t blow me away (been skydiving & hang glider so much more of an adrenaline rush) but it was a good clean fun couple of hrs. w/our “zippy” masters-Howie, a local, & Sam, a refugee from Antifa-d Portlandia, where I also escaped from but only about 2 decades earlier before the war was fully on. These mateys kept things peachy w/their dry Pythonesque humour in between 4 full rides w/2 of them on the longest line as well as the highest line in Kiwilandia.Written February 4, 2025

- victoriagF2226UZ0 contributionsWell worth the ride and repeat experience! My husband, 2 kids and I, went on the chair lift for the first time on January 8th 2025. It was a fantastic experience and one we will definitely repeat. Staff were all pleasant and directed us well. Explained how things worked and everything went smoothly. We all loved the thrill of being up high and it was a fun family experience my husband could enjoy with us even with his back problems. We will definitely come again and we will save up for a zip line experience as well because that looked AMAZING! Thanks team. The Gamage family 😁Written January 10, 2025
- MummaandCo0 contributionsMountain bikingWe came as a pre booked group with some doing zip lining & some doing biking. They faffed around so so much trying to find our booking & sending us back between guest services & bike hire three times, very frustrating!! The lift operators were all very helpful & friendly. It was fun but even the green tracks are somewhat challenging for newbies. Hard on your body. Service at the bar afterwards so slow and only one in front of us. An amazing place though, very impressive!Written September 30, 2024

- Escape101168722650 contributionsPro tips, cool tracks & fine tuning skillsExcellent - you can't beat form and technique. Despite us having bikes throughout our childhood, learning the pro tips was a game changer for us - it made All the difference. Highly recommend, so much fun, we were worried it was going to be too basic but we were riding tracks and up in the hills during this class and happily tired after 8ks of tracks. Tutor was excellent, she kept it fast moving and upscaled the training in parts to keep us challenged.Written August 31, 2024
- rumblegunn0070 contributionsZiplineHad a great time doing this zipline in Christchurch's Port Hills Adventure Park. Our guides were super (Jarred and Jake). They were very safety conscious making sure we knew exactly what to do but at the same time gave us confidence and lightened the mood for those like me who were a bit scared at the first zipline start off. By the third one I was hooked. I would definitely recommend this activity if you enjoy doing something a bit different. Great views and adrenaline rush! Thanks to the wonderful guides again.Written June 18, 2024

- StuartT13640 contributionsZip lines a unique and must do activity in ChristchurchA wonderful afternoon trying the 4 line experience. Great staff who provided clear instructions and equipment was top notch. The gondola ride to the top was smooth with great views. The zip lines were amazing. The views are outstanding and it’s brilliant flying down the different lines. A truely uniques experience that I would highly recommend. Our guides Carlos and Sam were so personable, knowledgeable, and friendly. There was 8 of us in our group so quick transitions between the lines and from start to finish it took just over 2 hours.Written December 31, 2023

This was SO much fun and such a great way to see the top of the town. Our guides, Sam and Kate, were so young and fun. They entertained us the whole time and made those of us a little weary feel safe and excited. What a fun couple of hours. Totally worth it and then head to town for lunch and a beer :)

We’ve zip lined in Costa Rica, Roatan, Paradise near Queenstown, Alaska, and a 4,000 foot zip line on Kauai. Next to the zip line on Kauai, this one tops them all.
The two guides emphasized safety procedures before starting and gearing up at the base office. Once geared up, we walked to the chair lift which would take four of us at a time to the top of the mountain where we walked down a trail to the first line. On the way up on the chair lift we saw zip liners riding far above us on the first of four lines. It was a little scary.
Once everyone reached the first launching platform, the guides reviewed safety procedures again and rigged the first two riders. Each person carries a trolly which will carry them on the zip lines. The first two lines are the shortest, but very high. Riding the first two lines prepares riders for the longer third line and the longest fourth line. What a blast. If you like zip lining, don’t miss this one.

We did the 'Long Ride ' which is a single ride on NZ's longest zipline - 1.1 km! The staff were really fun and friendly. They got us ready with a few jokes amongst all the safety requirements. After a 15 min drive to the top, it was an easy walk down to the start. Amazing views over the valley made for good photos. There's only 6 people so you're on the zip line before you know it. You ride next to someone so I raced my 16 year old son. I ended up racing past him! It's then an easy walk back to the village to return your gear. I definitely recommend the experience. If you want a video rent a go pro as it's hard to hold on and film once you get going.

We did the night ziplining at the start of the night zipping (winter) great night views over the city while zipping down the lines.
Make sure you wear plenty of warm clothes, there is a bit of waiting around while everyone in the group has their turn but group sizes are limited so you aren't waiting for ever.
You get fitted into a modern sitting harness so no uncomfortable straps around your legs.
Lots of fun & looking forward to going again during the day time.

Enjoy the nature as swaddle around the nature paths and tracks! The moment you went on the zip line, you push yourself along the breeze and swiftly line down as you scream to the top of your lungs. This experience is surely one to desire and one to never forget!4 different lines with with each having their differences as you end in a relief and a large smile on your face. This is an extreme recommendation from me.

I did the 2.5 hour Zipline Tour and absolutely loved it! You start the tour off with an epic chairlift up the mountain (just when you think you've reached the top, there's more!) Once you reach the top you can see beautiful views of the city, lake, beaches, snow capped mountains (even in the summer). At the moment, this chairlift is the longest in NZ.
The first zipline is a good taster, it's the second shortest zipline out of the four, but a good one to start off with. The others either went super fast, super high or super long! So much fun! And by the end you just want more!
The team were awesome, guides were hilarious and even just the buildings at the bottom in "the village" (cafe, check in office, bike maintenance shop) were beautiful.
A nice and calm place surrounded by tall majestic trees.
You don't have to do a 2.5 hour tour to visit the area, they have bike and walking tracks and cafe on site with a delicious menu. They also have a shorter tour if you just want to do the longest zipline in NZ. They also just have chairlift passes which is still amazing on it's own.
The only thing I will say though, is that you do need to have your own vehicle to get there as buses do not go there. The best way to travel is most likely via Uber. I travelled from the City to the Adventure Park and paid approximately $21.00. The entrance way is gravel road, most of the way up and I would recommend if you do go on Uber, say you're travelling to Christchurch Adventure Park, don't just put in address otherwise you will be dropped off a good 10-15 minutes walk from the park?

Because some in our group were afraid of heights, we opted to do just the single, longest zip. Wish we had gone for all four! Sam and Paul were great at setting anxious minds at rest with their confident and thorough approach to safety and explaining how everything worked. Recommend this activity to anyone keen to try something a slightly bit scary. Well worth the money.

Great fun on the full Zip line tour. Yes, it’s a bit expensive but it is a fairly unique experience to ride on the highest and longest zip wires in NZ. The two staff, Callum and Anna, were great and talked us through the safety and experience for each of the 4 zip lines.

Wow totally recommend the Zipline Tour !!
Much better than I expected this tour is excellent value at $130 pp. Very well organised tour, a fun time with friendly guides who really know what they are doing. We felt completely confident that we were safe on each of the 4 runs. Freezing at the top but so much fun, it was really good.
Only negative ! the queue inside waiting to sign the Waiver Ts&Cs is messy and slow .. apparently you can do it online before arriving which would be better

Christchurch Zipline tour was absolutely breathtaking
Our guides, Chris and George were friendly, professional and made sure we were safe and comfortable throughout the tour.
Chris and George were able to answer all our questions and put our nerves at ease (at one point Chris starting singing!)
Everything was explained to us so we knew exactly what was expected and what was happening the whole time.
Could not recommend enough!
Will be back.

Can we get a video of our zip line after we've done it or have people used their own go pros to record it??
Many thanks
Written August 14, 2019
We used a hand held GoPro, which worked well for us. I do not think that they video it.
Written August 15, 2019
I like to lay back.
It's a zip line, you can hold on if you choose, throw your arms out, go limp like a rag doll, the experience is up to you, on the last line you go from mountain to mountain so it is quite amazing. There was a storm when I went so it was like being hit by 20 billion tiny agonizing daggers ..... incredibly painful but exhilarating but that is part of the rush! Will I get hit by lightning or not!?

hi, looking at bringing a family of 4 in december, chair lift and zip line. does that work together?
Written January 13, 2019
Sure does, the chair lift comes with the zip line price. You catch the chair lift to the top of the mountain and then zip line back down!
