    What to Expect
Explore the tranquil side of Christchurch with a classic boating, or punting, experience on the lovely Avon River. The narrow flat-bottomed boat, designed for small rivers and shallow water, is operated by a punter in period dress who shares information about the sights and history of Christchurch.
Traditionally, riders sit on low, cushioned seats, however higher seating can be provided as needed. Blankets, umbrellas and hot water bottles are available so you can snuggle up with loved ones in all seasons.
If you wish, book additional Christchurch activities with your 30-minute boat ride (see below).
Punting and Botanic GardensTour the 52-acre (21-hectare) Christchurch Botanic Gardens by electric-powered caterpillar bus that allows you to hop on and off at the Rose Garden, Blind Garden, greenhouse and more. Learn from the onboard guide about the extensive collection of native and exotic plants.
Punting and GondolaRide the Christchurch Gondola to the Crater Rim of the Port Hills, peering at the views through the cabin’s large windows. At the top, check out an exhibit about the dormant volcano and enjoy the vista over Christchurch, including Lyttelton Harbour and the Southern Alps.
Punting, Tram, Gardens and GondolaIncludes all of the above plus a tour through Christchurch's city center aboard the beautifully restored Christchurch Tram. Learn about historic landmarks from the driver, and use your all-day ticket to hop on and off at any of the seven stops including the Art Gallery and Canterbury Museum.

We had a lovely time doing this activity. The punter was friendly and full of information. The boat has comfortable seats and since the weather was cold, we were given blankets and hand warmer. Very interesting experience as well as relaxing.

Hi, I am not aware of that. There was no mention of any weight limit when I booked, nor on the day of the activity either.
