Christchurch and Waipara valley worth the visit
This tour was wonderful, our tour guide Joseph picked us up at the port of Lyttleton and drove us over the pass to Christchurch then to the Waipara valley. We visited small family owned vineyards for our tastings and lunch. The lunch was creative and delicious.

          Brilliant
This tour was a standout for us. Dennis is a great tour guide and we promised we would write a review to thank him for the day. Kerry, Donna, Mary and Lou from Adelaide. Dennis is very passionate and knowledgeable and gave our group an insight into Wellington. Thanks P.S. Go Aussies

A nice day out and nice photo ops.
A terrific day and a nice boat ride to see the sea animals. Nice drive to Akaroa with Graham at the helm giving local information. A quick stop at the cheese factory, no work was being done but we bought nice cheese. After a nice lunch and walk about we took a nice boat ride to see the dolphins a few penguins and fur seals. The staff on the boat was great and nice commentary was given.

          Beautiful Landscapes
We had a wonderful tour with Graeme as our driver/guide. Yes, it is a long drive but the scenery is well worth it. We chose the pre-ordered lunch and both my husband and I enjoyed the selection. An added bonus was that we were able to see 2 keas outside the cafe. I must give kudos to Graeme for his patience with 2 of our fellow cruisers on the bus. They wanted to go to sites that apparently their third party vendor said was included but as Graeme pointed out it would possibly make us late for the last shuttle back to the ship. One of them constantly yelled out to finish Graeme's sentences. He handle all like a pro & managed to squeeze in one of their requests. I would certainly recommend this shore excursion by Leisure Tours.

A Great day trip from Christchurch, Trains, Boats, Wildlife and automobiles
This tour was booked by a travel agent so was initially unaware that they had chosen Christchurch Leisure Tours as the full day tour operator as the transfer from the hotel was with super shuttle. Super Shuttle failed to pick us up from the hotel at 6:00am and had to Uber to train station. The 2-1/2 hour ride on the Costal Pafic passes through some beautiful countryside including 30 minutes along the coast during which we saw dusky dolphin near shore. We were met by Carmen from Christchurch Leisure Tours who explained how the remained of the day would go. The 10:00 whale watching went off at 10:30 with growing winds. The high-speed catamaran was a smooth ride out to the canyons to the spot when a whale was last spotted. Spent around half an hour watching a sperm whale resting on the surface before a tail flip and diving for food. Boat then started a slow return to harbour. The remaining whale watching tours were cancel because of high seas. Carmen met us at our return and drove us to the town of Kaikoura for lunch at the Why Not Cafe. Try Whitebait for first time not bad, but the fish and chips were great. After lunch Carmen stopped just south of town to see a seal colony with baby seals that lives road-side. Soo Cute!! Left Kaikoura at 15:00 for the 2-1/2 hour drive back to Christchurch. The road follows close to the rail tracks for much of the way giving a different view and a chance to catch up on some lost sleep. We did not stop at a winery as it was after 17:00 and all wineries close by then. Carmen did an excellent job of guiding and driving us.

Awesome day with Tania showing us Akaroa
We had an AWESOME day with Tania! Pick-up from hotel was on time she entertained us with local knowledge, stories and her version of jokes as we picked up additional people in Christchurch and the cruise ship at Littleton Harbour. It is a long and winding road to Akaroa. There was a rest break at Little River to stretch your legs before reaching Akaroa an hour later. Boarded the dolphin watching tour at 10:30. We did see dolphins, seals and one penguin, had the included lunch at BullyHayes", both the salmon and fish and chips were delish. At 2:30 boarded the van for the trip back to Christchurch with brief stops at the Barry Bay Cheese Factory. No demonstration as it was Saturday, but shop was open. Cheeses are nice. Second stop was at hilltop to photo stop with view of Akoroa and the bay. Last stop was to drop cruise ship passengers off, then a return trip via New Brighton before being dropped off at hotel. Drop cellphone in van on way out, Tania was back at the hotel returning it before I even missed it. A very big THANK YOU to Tania as it would have been a trip spoiler.

          Didn’t get picked up
I don’t know how this trip went as I wasn’t picked up for it. I wanted to go on the 2nd feb but company changed date to 1st feb (fine) and in a later message changed the pick-up time to slightly earlier (also fine). Both messages confirmed they would pick me up from hotel. 5 minutes before pickup time I went to wait for them. I thought right outside hotel doors would be an obvious place. It was 7am so the street was virtually empty. They didn’t come at the given time. I continued to wait, messaged them via trip advisor many times and rang their office number. No one answered. I waited some more and then gave up after still not hearing back from company. Overall I waited right outside my hotel doors for around 50 minutes. I didn’t hear from them again. They didn’t even apologise. I requested a refund through trip advisor and received it. For sake of transparency, this is my second posting of my review as I felt I could have been clearer in my first one.

          Solo cruiser review
Solid tour of the city and everything with the cruise ship went pretty smooth. Be a ware that the jet boating is only 30 min and that the rest of the day is touring.

Chistchurch Sightseeing and tour of Antarctic Center.
The Lyttelton Shore excursion to Christchurch was great! Our guide/driver did a good job explaining the history of Christchurch and how the city has been rebuilding since the earthquake. Our tour of the Antarctic Center very informative. Highly recommend!

          Great day trip to Akaroa
This trip was very nice. Great views and information from our driver, Pete. He was very knowledgeable and funny. The cruise was great, we saw Hectors dolphins, penguins, and seals even though it was windy and a little rainy. Definitely bring layers! Would definitely recommend this tour to Akaroa. Hopefully Pete is your driver!

Worth a visit, but, check numbers taking part
A fascinating tour round the area which was, unfortunately, spoiled by some appalling rain!! The driver did well keeping us entertained and we all felt sorry for him!! The trip included the Antarctic exhibition - however, Leisure tours refused to take us there as there weren't enough people on the trip - I was angry!!!

          Great Tour
Great tour of Christchurch. It was interesting to see the impact of the earthquake and the reconstruction that is taking place. The Antarctic Center was also very interesting; the ride in the Hagglund should not be missed!

          A busy day of driving!
A very full day tour to get to Arthur’s Pass from the port. Our driver, June, was very friendly and did a lot of driving. You need to expect that over the 7.5 hrs of the tour, about 6 is spent on the road. The scenery is nice, and a welcome change from port views from the cruise ship, but the riding is a bit much. The sheep farm was interesting and Trevor gave a good talk/demo (along with sheep dog Ned). There’s a couple quick stops along the way (including castle rocks). We only spent a short time at the pass as we had to get back to port. As long as you’re fine with this much time in the van, you’ll enjoy the visit
