- Cedup170 contributionsA perfect day at Wellington! We had a wonderful day with Helen! Thank you so much! We had a private tour for the whole day. Helen is a passioniate guide, very generous and know everything about her city. I strongly recommand the tour.Written February 1, 2025

- sirwingk0 contributionsThe best private guided tour in Wellington. My wife and I are on a Celebrity Cruise and stopped in Wellington. Rather than pay the high cost of their tour we hired Silver Cloud and could not have been happier. They met us right beside the ship with a sign with our name on it. The car was immaculate and clean. and brand new. Mark and his wife run the company. Mark was our guide for the day. It was one of the most pleasurable and memorable days. He brought us everywhere we wanted to go to. He gave us a suggested tour with all the highlights and responded to our last minute requests. He was informative, interesting, friendly but not obtrusive, accompanied us on our shopping jaunts and was always present with more interesting bits of information on life in New Zealand. He is a constant fount of information and statistics. We can highly recommend him and his wife's services as a tour company. We left totally happy and satisfied with zero complaints. a Five out of Five. We have done many tours over the years and some have been disasters. We would hire them again in a second with no reservations. Worth it 100%.Written December 26, 2024
- jimzywill0 contributionsGreat private tour of Martinborough Wine regionA really wonderful day. Picked up a few minutes early from our Airbnb. Comfortable ride, superb guide who was passionate about the area and the wine. We experienced many nice little touches along the way. Very flexible and super friendly. We’ve done several similar tours and this is one of the best.Written February 6, 2024
- nickhyde900 contributionsPremium experienceI can’t thank Helen and Mark enough for their efforts in making our trip special. This was a ‘tandem Tesla’ tour for my mums 60th birthday. They without doubt excelled in making mum feel like “Queen for the day”. I am very grateful - thank you.Written January 30, 2024
- eulea0 contributionsSimply the best way to visit Wellington for a daySuch a wonderful day with Helen. She grew up in Wellington and knows the city’s history and present. Her commentary was full of her love for her city. Besides the information she shared there were cute, funny tales of happenings. We traveled all around the city which sprawls around the bay. Wellington truly lived up to its moniker “Windy Wellington.” The houses are built on the steep slopes of the hills. It’s very unusual but obviously the only way to expand the city since there are only steep hillsides. The residents must have very strong legs because they are always walking up or down. Anyway, this private tour is definitely worth it. We loved every minute of it.Written January 29, 2024
- davidkQ4024ZI0 contributionsGREAT BESPOKE WINE TOURFrom the moment Mark picked us up from the Cruise Terminal, we both felt we were in for a great day! Lovely chap who engaged in conversation about wine and local area too. We mentioned Poppies as a possible stop, and whilst not on the itinerary, Mark made a stop for us. All of the wineries were great, although the High Tea at Tirohana was average ( no fault of tour guide!). We arrived back in town a tad early, so Mark gave us an impromptu guide including a delightful stop at a local church. Highly recommended tour!Written January 23, 2024
- Navigator454216601900 contributionsAn amazing experience we will never forgetThis excursion has been the best my wife and I have ever experienced. Helen our host (who is a really lovely woman) sent a photo of our cruise ship heading towards the harbour before we met up and a photo as the ship left (what a brilliant touch) We found Helen to be so easy to talk too and she has amazing knowledge of the whole area. We were taken to 3 top wineries including Ata Rangi, Palliser Estate (where we were taken into the cellar and had the opportunity to taste their top 2 premium wines) We also did a tour through the city with amazing commentary from Helen. Helen also arranged a high tea which was plentiful and irresistible. The trip was totally memorable and I would book with Helen again in a flash Don't miss the opportunity to book this tour John and PamelaWritten January 7, 2024

Absolutely delightful! We had no idea what to expect and the tour far exceeded our expectations. Helen and Mark were so welcoming and knowledgeable; they shared many stories and the history of the region. Our day started with a stop at the Kaitoke Regional Park. Magical! A stop at Aston Norwood Cafe for coffee and scones was perfect after the chilly walk in the park region. We moved on to enjoy a trip over the mountain to Martinborough and enjoyed a wine tasting at Palliser. The Sauvignon Blanc was amazing! We then traveled to Tirohana Estate for a wine tasting and leisurely gourmet lunch. Our host Toby did not disappoint! We moved to Poppies for a wonderful tasting and loved the Late Harvest Riesling. We journeyed back to Wellington with a quick stop at Schoc Chocolates for a sweet ending to our tour. The day was amazing with a taste of wine, history, and the beautiful scenery; a truly wonderful experience filled with lovely memories and new friends. Thanks again, Helen and Mark!

We couldn't speak highly enough of Helen and her tour. We had a superb day out. First stop was Featherston for coffee and cheese scone, and purchase of delicious cheeses. On to Martinborough for the wineries and lunch. It was all extremely friendly and of course Helen had pre-arranged the visits and knew the staff at the wineries so our visits were more personalised. We would certainly recommend these tours. Kaye and Ian

Thank you so much for taking the time to post this very kind review. I'm delighted to know that you enjoyed your Martinborough wine tour and that is was also fun! Yes C'est Cheese makes outstanding cheeses and I owe you some Blue Cheese! I am also happy to hear you both felt welcome and enjoyed the hospitality at each of the vineyards included in the tour. We aim to provide a personalised experience so our guests enjoy a relaxed tasting of the beautiful wines and a chance to talk to the staff and wine makers about the viticulture and love, sweat and tears that goes into each bottle! À ta santé! Helen

Helen was such a good choice for our visit to the Martinborough Vineyards, her knowledge on the local wine and food is 5 ☆
You definitely get more than you pay for, as it was just my wife and myself Helen offered numerous stop offs at local attractions including sets from the Lord of the rings, a local cheese shop and a local chocolate shop with no extra costs, her knowledge on the areas, culture and history made it feel we were on a guided tour the hole trip.
Beautiful car and very comfortable and i can't recommend enough.

Helen. Helen was our favorite part of this experience! The car was lovely and comfortable, the wine was delicious, but Helen’s knowledge of the history, culture, and wine was most impressive. She was super thoughtful and communicated everything we needed in advance. I’d come back to New Zealand just to do another tour with Helen.
