    What to Expect
Experience part of the Te Araroa Trail and Wellington’s newest walking track - the vertigo-inducing Paekakariki Escarpment. We begin in Wellington with a harbourside stroll, before taking a pleasant train ride out to the Kāpiti Coast.  We then escape into a world of spectacular views over glimmering seas. Discover the conquests of Te Rauparaha, learn about the unique ecology, and the challenges of constructing a rail line (and track) through such rugged terrain.  The walk ends at a peaceful seaside village, where lunch at a funky, laid-back cafe awaits.

Total walking distance = 12 km (approx), with some steep climbs (lot's of steps!). Starts at Wellington i-SITE at 8:45am. Returns to Wellington Train Station by 5:00pm.

Requires moderate fitness and comfortable walking shoes. Expect well-formed but steep and narrow track. This tour is not suitable for people with heart conditions or vertigo. Bring suitable clothing (avoid denim), sun hat, camera.

    Outstanding Service
We were taking advantage of a couple of days off midweek. We intended to hire a couple of bikes and hit the wineries. When we arrived at Green Jersey, it looked closed up. We went around the back and discovered Bronwyn who confirmed that they were indeed closed on Wednesdays through winter. However Bronwyn offered to hire us a couple of bikes, went through the winery list to tell us what ones would be open and even offered to go pick up any wine we might buy. This is outstanding service for what turned out to be the only two people on bikes that day! Highly recommended

Great bikes, great people, great service
John and all the people at Green Jersey were amazing!! The service is very personal, flexible and friendly. Nothing is too much trouble!!! The bikes were perfectly serviced and set up. The advice we got was spot on and they took the time to make sure everything was done for us. We did a group ride on our own (No. 8 Wired Trail -not for the faint hearted). On our return John was incredibly hospitable and good to us!! We will long remember the kindness shown to us! It was really quite a special time. Thank you so much Green Jersey. Could not recommend them more highly!

    Fantastic Company and Staff
Great company to deal with. We arranged for them to complete E-bike modifications on our bikes. Communication was top notch, they also provided information on local trails and places to visit in Martinbourgh for our stay here. They also provide hire bikes (all different types for all ages) and provide local tours.

    Awesome tour
Lovely tour guide Simon lots of local knowledge and personalised tour to us. Took us to olive grove between vineyards when we indicated interest and a great lunch recommendation. Was lovely to have some time in the beautiful autumn evening to bike through the vineyards on our own too before needing to return the bikes :-)

Wow, what can I say. Stu, Joe and Matiu "'knocked themselves out" giving our Cycle Group one of the most AMAZING Tours we have ever done. From the Rimutaka Trail to Castlepoint Station and beyond, their superb knowledge of the history/ their willingness to "go that extra mile". The different and stimulating terrain chosen to cycle over combined with the superb accommodation/cuisine and side tours made this "one of our best" tours yet. Well done Guys -cannot recommend you more highly to anyone considering a tour in this area of NZ (or beyond) Maryanne

Awesome service after we got a flat tire
We had a flat tire while riding to Featherston. Even though we were on our own bikes they were happy to bring us to Featherston for a small fee. Very prompt pick up. We were with small kids and we were a bit stressed due to the flat tire as we still had to travel quite a bit. They really made our day! Would recommend them for your bike tours.

Thanks to an ebike it was even easier to ride around and do cellar doors. Thanks to Green Jersey cycle hire we were able to have a drink and not worry about collecting our bottles. Highly recommend this company to take care of your cycle needs. Such fun!

    Fun, scenic activity
On a recent cruise to New Zealand we turned to Trip Advisor to research shore excursion options for each port on our itinerary. Best decision ever! They offer such a great variety. We booked the Rimatuka Rail Trail Bike Ride for our group of 4. Green Jersey Cycle picked us up from the port with correctly sized bikes which were very comfortable to ride. Our guide, Stuart, was fun and informative. He provided a delicious lunch and made sure each member of our group had an enjoyable day. We were returned to the ship in time for departure.

    Great Day Out.
Couldn't have asked for more! ... seals (up close and personal) on rocks, sea views, surf crashing on rocks and the the smart looking, candy striped lighthouse to climb (only 253 steps!) for 360 degree views. All the preparation, driving and provisioning taken care of. And our guide, Jo, with extensive knowledge of the local history and the geology of the region to open our eyes to a unique view of the landscape. Everything about the Tour was managed very professionally. We had a great day out! .

    Above and beyond!
After a late start out of Wellington, which was not our fault or the company’s, Green Jersey (Bronwyn and Simon especially) made sure we had a great day by comping our cycle rentals, providing excellent local recommendations, and seeing that we were specifically and promptly back in town as scheduled. Highly recommended! Thanks again.

Fun day on the Bike Trail
Great communication with Green Jersey ahead of time. Easy to meet up with our ride in Wellington to drive out to the trail start. Met by Stuart, the owner of company to provide really nice bikes, maps and all the details we would need. Fun day of riding then we took the train back to Wellington. Highly recommend Green Jersey

    An historic journey
Our three days on the Remutaka Cycle Trail were memorable and ultimately enjoyable. A gentle cycle on the Rotary trail beside the Hutt River on day one was a great start. We stopped at the Dowse Gallery and then had our picnic lunch by the river. A final climb up to Maymorn for a delicious meal and comfy bed. Our next day over the Incline was much easier than we expected with interesting history along the way. A highlight was our night in Martinborough - a spa bath to soak the weary body and a great meal at Union Square had us ready for the final challenge. Nature sent us a fierce gale for our battle along the southern coast to Orongorongo and there were "moments" when we just had to dig deep. Our host Stuart had mentioned that we would feel "exhilarated" when we completed the ride so we'll go with that! We thoroughly recommend Stuart at Green Jersey Cycle Tours as a knowledgeable and generous host and excellent tour organiser. Great food, fab accommodation and an interesting commentary and overview of the area.
