We were very lucky to be the only ones on this trip that day, our guide was excellent new what he was talking about and answered any questions we had also the van was very clean. Started with a tour of the city then made our way to a kiwi fruit farm was very interesting and lots of different foods to sample bought quite a few things, the honey farm was good has a nice little cafe also very interesting. The just a quick visit to a avocado farm were we sampled some amazing avocado oils yummy. All up a great day would recommend this tour.

We had planned a shore excursion with Wicked Wanders. Our cruise ship was delayed getting into Tauranga, so Russell rearranged our tour. Then our visit to Tauranga was cancelled altogether. Russell was incredibly helpful and flexible. Should we ever visit Tauranga or any of my friends or family visit I would definitely recommend this company. Thank you for trying.

Hi Virginia, Thank you for your review. It was circumstances outside of both of our control that led to your ship firstly being delayed and then not being able to dock at Tauranga. It would have been remiss of me not to try and make the best of a bad situation for you and I'm glad you appreciated it. I look forward to meeting you in person at some stage in the future and showing you our beautiful city. All the best, Russell.

My son and I came off a cruise and was met by Russell at the Tauranga port. It was nice to get picked up in an air conditioned van with a bottled water on our seat. Russell knew of the great areas to stop and teach us about the history and culture of the land. We had time to view some amazing world known beaches! We drove out to Comvita where we learned about Manuka honey and sampled the different kinds. We had plenty of opportunities to use the restrooms and relax eating ice cream or having a hot beverage. Russell taught us about the kiwi fruits and we had a chance to taste some of the gold and green kiwis. The tour provided a kiwi ice cream that was so delicious! We sampled avocado oils with bread and had a wonderful time exploring Tauranga in a short amount of time. Thank you for your expertise about Tauranga and creating memorable experiences!

Did this tour yesterday with Russell who is informative and friendly, a great guy, who had a comfortable coach with seat belts ( not all did in NZ) which accommodates ten people comfortably. We enjoyed the tour of the kiwi factory with the free ice cream, looking at the honey products at another factory, seeing avocados growing abundantly on trees and tasting avocado oil. We had a drive around Taraunga first.

Russell ran an excellent well paced tour. He is friendly and helpful and very knowledgeable about Tauranga, its history and local farming.
We came off a cruise and were met by Russell at the Tauranga port. It was a hot day so it was nice to get picked up in an air conditioned van with a bottled water on our seat. Russell knew all the best places to stop and explained the history and culture of the area. We visited some beautiful beaches and drove out to Comvita where we sampled Manuka honey and learnt about bees. We had time to have refreshments and had lovely honey banana smoothies. Russell taught us about kiwi fruit and we had a chance to sample some of the gold and green kiwis. The tour provided a kiwi fruit ice cream which was delicious! We then went to an avacado farm and sampled avocado oils with bread. Thank you for a fabulous tour of Tauranga

Thank you Russell Christian! My husband and I could not forget the moment you returned the cameraI to us! You are so thoughtful. If you did not leave a business card to us, how could we contact you when we found I left my camera in your car! We called you and you brought my camera to us right away. We traveled with cruise ship and did not have time to wait! Thank you so much!
We picked this trip since we liked to see kiwifruit farm. It surprised us that you took us to see beautiful beaches, gardens and avocado trees too. We love all the activities. You are knowledgeable. We learned a lot about Tauranga and also New Zealand!

Hi Mixia, Thank you for your lovely review. I was upset at myself to have missed your camera when I checked the van at drop off. I had checked the back seats but because you ended up in the front seat, I missed it on the first pass. I was already making a plan to get it to the ships security when you called but was relieved to be able to give it to you in person. It would have been a disaster for you to lose your holiday snaps. I'm pleased you liked my tour and the variety of stops and history our beatiful area offers. All the best for the rest of your travels. Russell

Russell Picks you up from where the cruise ship docks. He is very knowledgeable and makes the whole experience very interesting. We were lucky enough to be the only two on the trip due to a glitch in the booking system (good for us!) two tour sellers joined us. We visited a kiwi farm and had tastings and ice cream, Manuka honey factory and avocado farm and some lovely beach spots it was all really interesting and enjoyable. I would definitely recommend.

When cruising it is easy to book excursions directly from the ship. We have found these can be very expensive and very impersonal. You have 50 on the coach and time taken to get on and off can be wasteful. On our recent trip to NZ and Oz we compared the ship's prices with independent operators. They were often almost half price and everyone worked out really well.
This was our first excursion from our cruise ship and we were not sure what to expect. It was an excellent tour and Carol was a great driver and guide. She was very informative throughout. We visited a small town and the countryside that really gave us a view of NZ life. We visited a Honey farm, Kiwi farm and Avocado farm. She was very knowledgeable about all the growing processes. We tasted honey but were advised not to buy any honey products as banned from Western Australia and we were disembarking in Perth. We were introduced to Golden and Green Kiwis and she bought us kiwi ice creams. Finally she provided bread to enable us to taste the oil at the avocado farm. It was a most enjoyable trip which gave us our first introduction to New Zealand.

Hello Barbara, how nice of you to put pen to paper and write a lovely review. The points you make are what makes my tour a little bit special as with a small group we have the opportunity to make things a little bit more personal and we all have a chance to get to know each other a little better. The timing of my tour also means that often we are the only group at attractions as the bigger buses have already been and gone again leaving us to enjoy the space. I am so glad you enjoyed the tour and learnt a little bit about how we do things down here. We do pride ourselves in hospitality and I do hope that you have taken some lovely memories home to share with your friends and family. Until we me met again safe travels and great health. Kindest regards Carol

On a recent New Zealand cruise we visited a number of ports. Tauranga is a stunning place and our memories will be all the more special because of this excellent shore excursion. Carol from Wicked Wanders was there to meet us when we disembarked with a very warm welcome. There were 8 of us on the tour and the van was very roomy and comfortable. The tour was diverse in that we saw the popular beaches of the area, visited a Manuka Honey farm, a kiwi orchard and an avocado farm but all in a very relaxed and informative way. Both my husband and I could not recommend this shore excursion highly enough.

Hello Suzieauzzie, Thank you so much for taking the time to write a fabulous review, your kind words are appreciated. I throughly enjoy showing visitors to our shores around the stunning place I get to call home. We do live in a pretty unique place which grows goodness with the abundance of Kiwifruit, Manuka Honey and Avocados to name just a few. I did warn you that I tqalk a lot but am always mindful that people join my tour to learn about the area and what we do, so am always keen to share as much information as possible without putting anyone to sleep. I am so glad you enjoyed yourselves and look forward tomeetign again next time you visit our beautiful shores. Until then safe travels. Kindest regards Carol
