      Hobbiton and more!
Hobbiton was wonderful but there was so much more to this tour! We were picked up from the cruise ship pier and had a city tour of Tauranga with a photo stop at the beach. We had a short, beautiful hike to McLaren Falls. Very picturesque. We had a lunch stop at a fun local pub where we had toasties and beer -- not a tourist spot. We stopped at a kiwi farm where the plants were loaded with fruit just days before the harvest. The scenery all along the way including Hobbiton was spectacular. Our guide Toby was excellent. An excellent day!

A Wonderful Day With Kerry and Arrow Tours
Guides like Kerry are why we opt for private tours rather than the ship’s tour.”s. We had an absolutely wonderful time and would urge everyone to give Arrow Tours and Kerry the opportunity to show you Rotorua. You won’t regret it.

      Special, Unique Experiences All Day
Kerry was a great guide, personable, informative and met all of our needs. He said and made us feel that this was "our day". After a drive through lovely Tauranga, we headed inland to a kiwi farm where we met the owner. This was a very unique experience. We then drove to Rotorua where we stopped to see several sites before reaching the Maori Thermal Village. We enjoyed a 30-minute Maori show and the thermal springs and gobbled meat pies for lunch in the Village. For us, the highlight of the trip was seeing the Green and Blue Lakes in the afternoon and nearby redwood forest. All in all, it was a great day. We couldn't have asked for more.

      Amazing Sights
This was an excellent tour! Great help from Toby in coordinating our cruise dock pickup. Our guide, Kerry, was punctual, provided great insight into the various stops on our tour and made sure we hit all of the stops before the cruise ship buses. There were so many interesting sights it's hard to pick a highlight of the tour. The thermal activity in Rotorua, the geysers and bubbling mud, the Maori dance performance, the redwood forest, the blue and green lakes. Amazing!

      Fabulous tour!
Our group of four adults spent the day touring a variety of places, including Maungauni Beach, a kiwifruit farm, Rotorua, a Maori meeting house, several beautiful lakes, Government Gardens, a redwood forest and more. Our guide, Kerry, was very knowledgeable and friendly. I highly recommend this tour group when your ship docks in Tauranga.

      Suitable for all ages.
Gondola ride was enjoyable. Nice cafe/view at top. The luge was very well run and designed. Safe and fun. Kids love it. I am in my 50’s tall and built like a lumberjack but the systems worked just as well for me. My wife and I both liked it.

      Spectacular
So much fun for families with young and old children. Spectacular views to go with your rides along with food and other activities for small children. Price was very reasonable giving us Gondola rides to the top with 5 rides on the Luge.

      Poor liaison with passenger cancellation
Booked eight people on this tour, but due to transport not being suitable for wheelchair participant and Covid six had to cancel, advised operator Arrow Tours, before due date and was told a refund would be forthcoming. It has now been over three months and still no refund from TripAdvisor. The two other passengers enjoyed their trip

      So much fun!
I was really nervous about doing this excursion. I'm so thankful I tried it. I had so much fun I didn't want to stop. It's super easy to control the sleds, no one was being reckless and it moves along, so you are never waiting in line. The gondola and ski lift was super easy to get on and off. I never felt scared or insecure. There were people of all ages having a great time. Please go and enjoy!

Informative, fun and relaxed - no time restraints!
Tony was wonderfully passionate about his home and extremely informative. We booked for just 3 of us, although for the same cost we could have had 8 people and it still worked out cheaper than the cruise ship excursion. But the main bonus was not the price, it was the flexibility and relaxed time we had - my mum is disabled so we could spend as little or as much time at each highlight. We had great laughs with Tony along the way - we were 2 poms and an Aussie so the banter was fab. The Māori living village and performance were amazing but the views and stop offs Tony showed us were spectacular. Would thoroughly recommend - you won’t be disappointed. Ask for Tony to be your guide!!

      Awesome place, will be back
Awesome place to go with family or friends! Definitely worth the money and would do it 100 times again, the night luge was awesome and the lights work beautiful. The staff were so helpful and bright and seemed to love their job and it showed. Will definitely be back:)

Toby Lerew - the best tour guide!
Toby Lerew was a wonderful, honest, and knowledgeable tour guide when we toured Tauranga in December 2022. He was upfront with his fees, and unlike other drivers we’ve had while traveling abroad, he did not attempt to defraud us. He took us to all the sites for the best photograph opportunities, and he provided thorough explanations. He also purchased fresh fruit for us to eat. Thank you, Tony!

      Private day tour
We had Kerry and Tony as our private car tour guides, and they provided a very memorable experience. They have a lot of knowledge and experience and welcome any questions we had. We had 2 children on noard and they were extremely kind and caring. Thankyou Kerry and Tony

      Day trip from Cruise ship
We had an amazing day with Arrow tours. We were large getting off the cruise but the new owner Toby drove us to the first stop off point. Kerry was an excellent guide and made sure that we all enjoyed the day. I hope that the recent happenings in the world will clear soon and wish you every success.

Terry was our guide and he was great! He has a wealth of knowledge as well as anecdotes to make it interesting and fun! The vehicle was an 7 passenger van with plenty of room as we only had 5 people on our tour. Great communication with the owner, Toby, throughout the whole booking process and easy to find just outside the cruise dock we were on.

Kerry did a great tour of Rotorua and the Māori cultural center, which included the boiling mud flats, geysers, Green and Blue Lakes and the giant redwood forest! He maximized our time to fit in lunch, see a lot and get us back to cruise ship in plenty of time! We also appreciated the Mercedes van with large viewing windows. We had to wait an extra 30 minutes for another couple from our same cruise ship, so my only suggestion is for Arrow to communicate better so all parties plan on same start time. As an aside, this was at the end of our cruise and if I had known how beautiful the beach is at Tauranga and that you can easily walk to Mt Maunganui from where the cruise ship docks, I would have preferred to spend the day there vs doing another excursion.

I am not sure why Trip Advisor says they are 'permanently closed' - they are very much open for business. We had a full day shore excursion with Toby. It was a comfortable van, not a crowded bus. The schedule was full, but never rushed.

Toby is a local who showed us things that you probably would not see otherwise. For example, we pulled over at one point and walked into a lush ancient forest full of bird song. We also had a short stop at a kiwi farm so we could see how that was done. The cultural village show/site was also good.

    Highly recommended!

Oct 15th, we just returned from a really great day with Kerry & Terry who gave us a really fun day filled with lots of information and great conversation. Seamless “meet-up” with this super friendly team. We had little side trips to spots most larger tours would have missed. The Māori cultural part was unique and very well done. All together well worth it….G&P from Vancouver

We purchased tickets for this tour 2 months ago. When we arrived at the designated meeting place, there were 2 guides from Arrow tours and neither had any record of our reservation. Luckily I had my tickets and confirmation email. One of the guides Kerry took us on his tour as he had room. He was a terrific guide and we loved the tour, but Shane on. Katie for dropping the ball

We apologise for not being ready for you when you first disembarked from the ship. Fortunately everything panned out well for you after this initial hiccup. Kerry is a wonderful chap with a dry wit and great knowledge and stories about the local area. I was only just 2 weeks into owning this business and this would've been the reason for our non preparedness on this day, plus we had an unusually large number of customers for our small business (50 spread over 4 vehicles) on the day you came with us. We have been in Covid-19 lockdown since March13, but hope to be up and running and showing guests our magnificent part of New Zealand as soon as it is safe for everyone, although this doesn't look likely for at least 9 months. We really enjoyed this small group tour. Toby was our guide and he was excellent! He’s been in the area for a long time and knew everything and everyone! We saw the highlights and avoided the crowds. Toby knows a lot about the flora, fauna, and history - which we really appreciated!! Highly recommended tour - much better than the usual script reading guides

There was a lot to see and do in the time we had. Whakarewarewa village was a site to see with the show and steam coming out of the ground. The country side we saw was amazing.

You pass the kiwi-growing farm and the nature reserve with beautiful waterfalls. The excursion we took was not good scheduled, we spent very little time in the valley.
