Overview
Challenge yourself against the world’s highest commercially rafted waterfall and enjoy outdoor adventure in New Zealand on this 3.5-hour Kaituna white-water rafting adventure from Rotorua. Hop into your raft in the Kahikitea Forest and take to the waves with a guide. During your tour, navigate steep canyons through native forest, and test your nerve over 14 challenging rapids. Splash, paddle and roll through New Zealand’s spectacular scenery and make the most of this North Island outdoor adventure. A full briefing and all safety equipment are included.
What to Expect
After pickup from any hotel in central Rotorua at your selected departure time, set off for a wild ride on the Kaituna River. Hop into your transport vehicle to the picturesque rafting base in the Kahikitea Forest, where river guides provide a full safety briefing. Once you've slipped into special clothing to keep you warm, grab your paddle, helmet, and life vest for the exciting journey ahead.

You'll paddle over more than a dozen rapids, including the impressive Tutea Falls, a cascade that boasts a 22-foot drop with adrenaline overload. Pass through a steep canyon lined by subtropical native forest while you learn to navigate the thrilling white water.

When you're safely back on shore, you're delivered back to the base where you can 'chill out' for a bit and view souvenir photos snapped by a professional photographer (available to purchase). Change into dry clothes and relax while transferred to your starting point.

Highlight of Rotorua

We loved our experience with Kaitiaki. My girlfriend was scared beforehand, but afterwards was glad she took part. The whole staff were professional, efficient and hilarious. I fell out after going over the big fall, but at no time did I feel unsafe. Thanks guys.

river rafting

Had a great time. It wasn't as scary as I thought it would be. We had an excellent guide and I feel now I could try it again back home in Canada.

I’ve been rafting on rivers with many class 5 rapids before so for me the river wasn’t the most challenging but it’s a narrow river which makes it feel so remote and has beautiful forest all around. The guide, Raana, was great talking you through...More
