About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- melindan3630 contributionsHaving a ‘ball’ of a timeWhat an amazing ride. A huge thank you to Mel & her team for making this adventure so enjoyable. I was a bit apprehensive as I have a sore knee and my friend had a sore neck / shoulder but Mel was so understanding and explained how it worked so we were confident to make the decision to do it. Boy were we glad we did. We had an absolutely ball, excuse the pun. Thank you Mel and team for looking after us. It was absolutely wonderful and so much fun. 11/10 ❤️Written August 23, 2024
- brew_sarah0 contributionsSo much fun!So much more fun than I imagined. I did 2 tracks, but I wish I could have done more. The staff was friendly, the hot tubs were nice to use in between, and the changing rooms were clean and spacious.Written May 3, 2024
- Mouzouris0 contributionsLots of funThis was the first thing we did in Rotorua. A lot of fun. Very flexible on scheduling as the line if any moves along pretty fast. You can store your stuff on an open locker so I wouldn’t keep any valuables with you other than clothes/ towels that we brought with us. Parking is a few feet away so easy to get to if needed. Then a van drives you up the hill about a minute if that and then in you go !!! Highly recommended specially with kids. You get a small discount if you book it thru Rotorua canopy tours if you’re planing doing the zip lines also.Written April 9, 2024
- jordanmolly0 contributionsFun but expensiveWe arrived an hour early as an earlier activity ended sooner than expected, the team fit us in straight away, and we got straight up and into the Mega Track Zorb. It was 2 minutes of chaos, slipping around in the ball, being pelted with water and not knowing which way is up. However we also couldn't stop laughing, it felt like we were travelling so fast and it was a lot of fun. However I probably wouldn't do it again now, as it's very expensive for a very short experience.Written January 21, 2024
- Curious332745384120 contributionsFun but hectic!2 adults and 2 tweens. We laughed so hard lot and had fun. The hot tubs were SO GOOD for us frozen aussies although we didn’t realise you have to sit cold on the benches to line up for the car that drives you up the hill. It would have been great to have a bit of guidance on the different tracks and what is good to do in your ride. 3 of us went in one and my husband’s legs pinned mine down so I did the whole sidewinder flat on my back, laughing and taking in water - I can see how you can drown in 30cm of water! and the water knocking my contacts around! One smart son went by himself - although, we did have fun! We all enjoyed racing the straight track more so and wished we’d known - we would have done that one again instead of the sidewinder. It’s pricey but a good thing to tick off your bucket list!Written January 13, 2024
- leofK2050GK0 contributionsGreat fun!Located on Mount Ngongotaha you arrive and show the workers at the front desks your tickets. Very quickly you are shown to a changing room (if you haven't changed into your togs yet. I think people outside NZ would call togs a 'Bathing Suit'). If, however, you are already changed prior to arrival you will be shown straight to a queue where you wait for a mini-van to bring you up to the hill. There are many different tracks that you can ZORB on. I personally like the Sidewinder track the best and would very much recommend it.Written January 8, 2024
- tatianab9810 contributionsGreat for kids and adultsDefinitely recommend for both adults and kids. My 6 year old tried all 3 rides (in a zrob with an adult, not by himself) and keeps asking to come back for more. The basic ride is actually one of the better ones.Written December 30, 2023
- ericnJ7083NB0 contributionsPricey, but awesome fun!Definitely a pricey experience, but a whole lotta fun! 28F & 28M couple and went in hesitant but thoroughly enjoyed the experience! It was actually way more fun than we expected! If you can afford it, definitely recommend!Written November 16, 2023
- Jami b0 contributionsDon’t be scared. It’s fun! Really fun!!If you like water slides, you will love Zorbing. It’s a bit pricey, so extend your time by soaking in the hot tubs and watching other people come down. And if there’s a line at the top, let other people go first and enjoy the view. There is a little terrace with a tub ( the tub wasn’t open. Maybe it’s only open when it’s busier) up there , and you can look out over Rotorua and watch the other riders start their roll. We did the straight track with two inside first. Wheeeeee! Then we did the Sidewinder separately. I laid on my back and held my knees so I was spinning around inside. Whoo hoooo! I got some water up my nose. But I didn’t care! So don’t be scared. Just go do it already!Written October 6, 2023
- Aeacho130 contributionsZORBing is the Best MedicineI haven't laughed this hard in a long time! ZORBing was one of our favorite experiences in NZ. Buy the 4 pack, it's worth it! After your first ride, you're going to want to try them all. The hot tubs before and after were perfect. The staff were so happy and friendly. If you bring a GoPro (recommended), use your selfie stick rather than any other attachments. Otherwise, bring a waterproof case for your phone. You're going to want videos of your insane rides. Ride with one other friend--it's way more fun! We spent more time here than expected--just over 2 hours for 4 tracks (no lines, we just enjoyed relaxing in between rides in the hot tubs).Written August 8, 2023
- Diane R0 contributionsWasn't for meI found the prices way too expensive, even for the cheapest package. Maybe it is ok if you book online in advance rather than be a walk-in. Coupled with the fact that you get very wet (I hadn't realised there was a ton of water in these things), I decided to give it a miss and just watch the others. They do offer shorts and t-shirts to use to keep your own clothes dry but best to bring swimming gear with you. There is also a sauna booth to dry off after. It is certainly unique and everyone seemed to have great fun. Just not for me.Written June 9, 2023
- JPY0 contributionsAmazing fun and a must do activity in NZThis is a must do activity whilst in NZ it is such good fun. We booked in advance, buying two rides and we thought the side winder was the best of the two. Also buying in advance gets you discounted rates. There are hot tubs for you to wait in, or watch others zorbing, so even if the weather is not gloriously sunny and warm you'll be fine. The staff are so friendly here and really help you have the best experience. There are rustic changing cubicles but no lockers just pigeonholes for towels etc, so don't take your valuable with you. The staff kindly put my bag behind the counter for me so it was secure. Highly recommend.Written May 1, 2023
- Jordan C0 contributionsAWESOME!!!!!!Awesome! Awesome!! AWESOME!!! We were here on 24/03, did the 09:00 downhill ball rolling, did all four and they were epic!!! Really not as scary as it may look, not at all, completely safe, comfortable and fun!! Loved it! Thanks to the team for looking after us, Charlotte, Leane, Taruia and Koan! Definitely recommend!!!Written March 27, 2023

This expensive thrill is over in 2 minutes its only fractionally cheaper if 2 people go in the zorb . They had 10 staff and no one told us there is a spa to use after .We recieved an email about logging on to get our photos which doesnt work .When contacted they said they would email a drop box link but still nothing .Over staffed over priced and poorly run .

The MOST fun we had on our entire holiday! Everyone was really helpful & eventhough the weather was cold the staff advised us that it would be super hot inside the zorb & it was! But we didn't have time to think about anything once we started rolling....& screaming at the same time. FUN! FUN! FUN! Definitely a MUST-DO! & we recommend buying the photos & videos.

We had never been Zorbing before so didn’t know what to expect—but were highly impressed! The location is beautiful and overlooks the Rotorua water, and is on a beautiful hill. The staff is great and so efficient! The location even provides hot tubs down the hill and above so that you stay warm after getting in the zorb ball with cold water.
Tips:
-Bring a swimsuit and towel. They provide towels but at a price
-Buy at least 2 Zorb rides —one lasts a total of 1 minute and you’ll be disappointed if you don’t do at least a few rides
-They take photos for you, but they charge you for it. $30 for just pics and $50 for pics + video. But I think you can just bring your waterproof camera if you want pics for free.

The zorbing is way too expensive. At $144 for 3 trips down the mountain for a maximum total time of 3 minutes max is not worth the price. I do not care if this is the only zorbing spot in the world, the cost is too high. The statement that it's slightly expensive but still ok is false. I would not recommend this for anyone. $40 or $50 would have been reasonable for the 3 trip plan!!!

So the Zorbing itself is super fun…we laughed all the way down the hill. My less than stellar review is due to how staff handled a (hopefully) unique situation. It was a very windy day and as we drove out of the parking lot, the metal parking lot gate suddenly whipped in the wind into our rental car…crumpling the hood. It was one of those split second moments that was nearly impossible to believe. A staff member came to check on us and then latched the gate, which she remarked should have been latched (of course). Fortunately, we had purchased full coverage on our rental car...but we had also never been involved in an accident in a rental, so we were still a bit nervous. The staff were kind enough but were unwilling to provide any sort of documentation of what had happened. Thankfully, all went well with the rental car company. But the gate attack had still left us with some extra expenses - for Ubers for the rest of that day and we were unable to go on the scheduled Māori village tour we had already paid for because we were still dealing with the accident aftermath. I emailed the manager, Steph to ask for a refund of the amount we had paid them, which would almost cover these new expenses, but she refused. I feel this was not the professional way to handle this situation that was caused by their gate that slammed into us and derailed our day.

The ride itself is really fun (we did Sidewinder and Pipeline) but is over and done with very quickly. The price is outrageous considering how short the ride is. Also, choosing to ride together in one Zorb doesn’t save you any money, even though there is far less work involved for staff… So 3 people could each take their own Zorb (6 rides in total) for the same price as sharing (2 rides in total).
We are a family of 5 with children aged 8, 5 and 1. Since a parent needed to stay with our youngest, we had hoped to purchase a 3 ride combo with each parent having one turn with the kids. On arrival we were informed that you couldn’t share as prices were “per rider”. Riders are then given a coloured wrist band to indicate which ride they are going on. This is purely a money making exercise - all that was required to allow both parents to have a turn was to complete an extra form at check in (basically just to cover Zorb in the case of any health events).
So we ended up paying the same amount for the kids to do 2 rides and each parent to do one as it would have cost for 3x 3 ride combos ($375 later!!!). This was the most expensive activity we did in Rotorua and it was over and done with in about 15 minutes. I think a little more flexibility is required to make this more family friendly, like a family pass where parents can ride interchangeably... Or a discount if you ride together in the Zorb… Or at least include more, like complementary photos or coffee!
The next day we received an email from Zorb inviting us to complete a review and return with cheaper prices for our second visit. Why not just offer these prices in the first place?!!! We won’t be returning.

We did this on a whim as recommended by some locals and it was awesome. We opted for the VIP so we could get our photos and videos. It was the silliest time and we could not stop laughing and screaming in delight. Truly a great experience!!! Not scary at all, only pure joy!

Jump inside a huge inflatable ball, pop some water in it and get pushed off a hilltop. What could be more fun!!! Everyone had a blast and commented it was just like a personal waterslide inside a big ball. A little expensive, but if you like doing stuff a little different, then this is for you.

We booked the 4 ride package so we could experience all the tracks and were not disappointed, they are all different! It’s a great set up, you get driven up to the launch site and wait in the hot tub for your turn. The water in the Zorb is warm and the ride is relatively soft and definitely bouncy all the way down. We felt safe and had a unique experience. Thanks to the whole team, shout out to Emily D who checked us in!

Undoubtedly amazing fun, awesone staff, but no kids prices making it real tough on families. My kids watched happy tourists pay $150 and gleefully narrate to us their progress through all four tracks while we had to settle for the most basic two, which was already $90 x 4 = $360. For us to do all four would be $600 - which is eye watering when compared with other attractions (rafting or even Rainbows End is a fraction of that). Just seemed a bit unfair (I'm sure the owner enjoys using the proceeds to pay kids prices on everything else..)
