The Hobbiton was definitely worth visiting, the van seats about 10 people, it was very clean and well-maintained. Once you get there, Hobbiton's own dedicated guides will take you around in groups. We had to go to the CBD area to pick up 1 group and then a quite remote location near the airport to pick up another group so although it might have been on the way it felt like we were in the van longer. The driver tried to keep us entertained and was cordial. We would have preferred a quiet car for our safety and for a more relaxing environment to sleep/rest in. Would recommend pairing this with another activity so you make the most of the 5 -6 hour drive from/back to auckland.

I did a three day tour with Flexitour and I was so impressed with how they handled all the logistics and transfers for me. It made the experience such a delight. They were very accommodating allowing me to end my tour in Rotorua instead of Auckland as I was continuing further south for the remainder of my trip. I would highly recommend this Company, especially if you don't plan to rent a car.

An interesting part of the country outside Auckland- enjoyed the ride seeing the countryside. The TePuia cultural center was so educational and the geysers and tgermal landscape were too.

The tour was wonderful and our driver Chris was amazing. Would of given 5 stars but the fact that we couldn’t eat on the bus on such a long day (13hrs) was a very disappointing. Long day with only lunch for food, especially with a lot of walking involved.

What an amazing experience! My specific tour was two days long so it was an overnight and many, many details. The owner, Phillipa, was completely on point with making sure I got to the many points I needed to get to. The gentleman who drove us there was phenomenal individual. Conversation, conviviality, humor, manners, and most of all safety. In a country thousands of miles from home with no one, I knew, I have to say I felt completely taken care of from point a to point Z l, as if I were around my family!

Great experience tour guide was knowledgeable and entertaining. All details of this excursion were good Even the all included lunch was 5 star. Would highly recommend.

I was not initially overenthusiastic about my visit, but very pleasantly surprised. It is extremely well done, your guides are enthusiastic and engaging. You don't have to be a Hobbit fan to enjoy and appreciate this attraction.

This tour was an easy way to get from Auckland to Rotorua without renting a car. Having Louise as our tour guide made it an exceptional ride! She was so friendly and knowledgeable. I wholeheartedly recommend this tour for anyone who wants to visit Waitomo Caves and Hobbiton without fussing over the details.

The actual tour of Rotorua and cultural centre itself was very enjoyable . The guides at Rotorua were very informative and happy to answer any questions . We also enjoyed the lunch that was included and were very fortunate to have a great group of people on our group who all enjoyed each others company . The day could have definately been improved had our driver been more engaging and passed on some of her knowledge of the local area but unfortunately that wasn't the case . we also seemed to spend a good deal of time standing around waiting to pick up other Flexitours travellers from another tour who had been to Hobbiton earlier in the day

Our tour guide, Rebecca, was more of a driver than a tour guide. The audio on the van was too low and she only shared some facts about Rotorua and then silent, not a single word was spoken by her the rest of the day. The tour is full of death time since the first stop, where our tour guide gave us a 45 minute break, way too long. Then after we arrived to the Maori Centre we had to wait 35 minutes for our tour guide to give us our Maori concert’s bracelet. In the meantime we got to know the souvenir shop on detail and the toilets twice, so fun!! When the concert finished, the buffet started, an 1 hour and a half buffet with not to many options tbh. After the buffet, we waited 15-20 minutes to get our geyser’s bracelet and the tour started. The tour needs a restructure as we started at the kiwi conservation centre, then went to the geysers and then back to where the buffet is to se the Maori arts and crafts institute. Because of the tour structure we didn’t manage to see the fourth biggest geyser of the world in action. It should be, Maori arts and crafts which is right next to where we were, then the kiwi and then the geysers until you see all the geysers in action. The tour is too expensive for the content, easily getting rid of all the death time, another activity could be included, even going to Huka Falls or something or another activity in Rotorua. The experience was nice and the people that booked the tour the same day I did were great and that’s what I take from it but talking about the tour company, it needs to make a change.

I'm so glad I decided to book this tour. We had such an amazing day. It was so nice not having to drive. Our driver guide, Rebecca, was wonderful. The mini bus was very comfortable. We even got a few naps in. Hobbiton was awesome. While you won't get time to tour Rotorua, you get a nice little sightseeing drive around and a quick stop at a geyser in a public park. The buffet lunch was delicious. Plenty of food options. Waitomo glow worm caves was a nice little experience to end the tour.

I booked this tour thinking it would be a little long. In reality, the early morning 6:25 am start is well worth it to get the most of the day in Rotorua. Our guide Chris was friendly, entertaining and ensured we were informed and in the right place at all times. Chris really made the experience one to remember! The Maori Cultural Centre is worth the visit alone. The guides grew up locally and are both kind and knowledgable. The centre's workshop and arts centre is fascinating and the resulting art works breath-taking. The concert was not a tourist trap, but a lovely cultural sharing with brilliant voices. We were not rushed at all and you felt like a valued visitor. The buffet lunch was super. We also got a chance to see a live Kiwi bird which was so cute. Great to see this important conservation work. The main event - the geysers were out of this world. The colours, the spectacular heights they reach and the strange sulphurous patterns made by the waterfalls. Sit on the hot rocks (carefully to avoid any escaping steam!) and enjoy the view. We chatted with our fellow day trippers and were dropped off at our hotel with a dinner recommendation. I couldn't recommend it more highly.

Perfect full day tour in the North Island! Chris, our driver and guide, communicated with us early to confirm our pickup, is extremely friendly and knew tons of history and facts about New Zealand he shared throughout the trip. The drive was long but Chris knew how to keep the group engaged with colorful commentary. We lucked out and had beautiful weather so we had a gorgeous view of the New Zealand country side as we trekked to our destinations. Each stop had wonderful guides and hosts due to the bonds which Chris had cultivated as a host. Overall, an excellent day!

This tour was fantastic. Everything was run in a timely and professional manner. Edson drove us on the way to Rotorua. He had the right combination of informing us without talking continuously. Louise who drove us on the way back the following day was terrific—good-naturedly entertained 2 small children on the return. All sites chosen were greatly enjoyed by us. We were happy to let Flexitours handle the logistics and driving to experience such wonderful sites.

The views were amazing. Hobbiton was amazing. We also visited Rotorua, that could've been a day on its own, with so much to do. The Waitomo Glow worm caves were interesting, though I wish the boat ride would have been a bit longer. Overall it was a fun trip and our driver was great!
