With another couple, we were picked up at our hotel by our guide, John. John had us introduce ourselves & played games along the way to pass the time. Stopped for breakfast & later lunch. The Hobbiton on foot tour was amazing. A 90 minute narrated tour, we ended in the village for ale. Whether you are into the Hobbit trilogy or Lord of the Rings trilogy or not, it was a visual feast. Beautiful day and colors were vibrant. Future expansion includes a hotel in the village along with some of the Hobbit Holes excavated for tours inside. Wautoma Glow Worm Caves - The caves were like most with stalactites & stalagmites. With separate guides talking in the caves made it hard to hear what either was saying but the glow worms came next. No photography was allowed inside but it was amazing to see. 12 hours made for a long tour. After the tour, we found that tour groups of other caves are allowed to take pictures. This would have been a 5 except for John's (guide) short monlogue those who don't have liberal political views.

The ExperienceKart tour company run by personal owner Karthik provides an amazing and fully encompassed experience for whatever your personal interest may be. Our tour began with being picked up at our hotel by a well-identified small shuttle bus driven by Karthik. There was ample room within the shuttle as our travel party this day was only my family of three and one other traveler. A yummy snack pack was given individually to each of us to munch on. The particular tour we signed up for was the Hobbiton and Waitomo Glowworm Cave Adventure. The comfortable travel out to these two destinations was quite pleasant and well informed by Karthik sharing unique details and stories of the neighboring cities en route to our destinations. Upon arrival at each destination, Karthik handles the ticketing and provides an easy-to-find meet-up point at the end of each tour. Plentiful time is given to each setting to enjoy your visit and patiently take in the unique experiences. My family was thoroughly pleased with the overall experience and look forward to our next excursion through New Zealand with ExperienceKart.
