- Begin your tour with pickup from your central Auckland hotel. Traveling by air-conditioned minibus, set out to explore Viaduct Harbour and Waitemata Harbour, then cross over the Auckland Harbour Bridge to take in the views from Northcote Point. Continue into downtown Auckland to soak up the atmosphere along Ponsonby Road and Karangahape Road—aka K Road—where your guide points out the best places to eat, drink, and shop later during your stay. Next up is a visit to the sacred peak of Mount Eden, which affords incredible views over the city. Pass through Parnell Village, home to the Auckland Domain and Auckland Museum, before looping back to the coast and driving along the beautiful beaches of Mission Bay and St. Heliers. Make a final stop at Achilles Point, with views across the Hauraki Gulf, before being dropped back at your hotel.

My wife and I are commencing our next chapter of our life together with a trip to New Zealand and Australia and started our journey with this wonderful guided tour with Michael after arriving in Auckland. Michael’s tour van is spacious but only accommodates 12 which is perfect and makes the experience much more personable. The other advantage is that the size enables him to get into iconic neighbourhoods, downtown streets, and waterfront areas that are impossible for large vehicles to get into and afford unbelievable views of the city, the waterfront and surrounding areas. We hit all the famous sites, and Michael is very generous with his time, and his sense of humour, passion and knowledge for the city, country and its history, and anecdotes made it an unforgettable experience. Two tips. Do this tour early in your stay as you will want to revisit some of the spots and neighbourhoods that michael takes you through on your own. And ask Michael to take you for Hokey Pokey Ice Cream!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our time on this wonderful tour hosted by the very engaging Michael. He was genuinely interested in where everyone was from & what there plans were whilst in NZ. In free flowing conversation he provided lots of hints and tips which will definitely be useful as we travel on further through NZ.
Being short on time, this tour gave us an excellent view of the wider Auckland city area with stop offs and drive throughs in areas and districts which we would have otherwise missed.
Michael was incredibly generous with his time, using his depth of knowledge as a local resident to provide interesting commentary, interspersed with humour along the way.
Thank you so much for a very enjoyable day, it was great to meet you and we hope to meet many more ‘Michael’s’ as we travel through your beautiful country.

From pick up this morning to our drop off at our appartment, Mike continued to entertain all on the bus with fun filled facts and knowledgable insite on everything regarding the city of Auckland. We covered a lot of ground in the 5 hour bus tour but Michael kept the pace going in a relaxed and happy manner. His knowledge of the area is excellent and being a smaller van enabled us access to areas we would not have been able to go in a bigger bus.
Thank you Michael for our delightful fist day experience in New Zealand and we will certainly be recomending your services to our friends and family who will be visiting in the future. Robyn and Vince Bryant. Perth WA.

While the day was very poor for sightseeing, Michael, our driver/tour guide did a great job of making our experience unique & enjoyable. He was a pro at dodging the rain and changing the itinerary to make the best of a bad situation. I highly recommend this tour.

Excellent trip! Michael is the best! He took us on a fun ride around the city showing us all the sites—harbors, beaches, volcanic peaks, bridge, museums, shopping—all with incredible views! Michael also shared what it’s like to live in Auckland—housing, restaurants, sports, family life. Such a kind man and so funny! We loved it—book now!

We had a wonderful Auckland City tour with Michael. He picked us up from our cruise ship dock in his very comfortable and spotless minivan. Even though it is meant to be a 3 ½ tour, Michael generously gave us almost 5 hours and we absolutely loved every minute of it! Michael took us to see all the must-see sights in Auckland and well as some secret sites. He packed in so much information and entertained us all with stories and anecdotes. It was one of the best tours we’ve taken. At the end, he even dropped us off at the doorstep of our next destination, Weta Workshop. If you’re a first-time visitor to Auckland, we highly recommend doing this fantastic tour with Michael!

Michael’s half day city tour was a perfect way to get a great overview of New ZealNd’s biggest city. We saw the wharf area, neighborhoods, beautiful city parks, and downtown.
Michael’s tour leaves near the cruise ship dock and he was very accommodating and responsive to our needs. He brings an interesting perspective to Auckland after living in the States for a few years.

Arrived Auckland Princes Wharf early morning on the Majestic Princess, the Hilton Auckland was right next to the wharf. Michael met us right on time with his spotless van. For the next 4+ hours, he took us through all the meaningful sites of the city. He was knowledgeable, friendly, courteous, as well as a very safe driver. He was also generous with his time. Excellent tour. Thank you, Michael.

My partner and I did this tour last week and it was fantastic! If you are new to Auckland I highly recommend you do this. From start to finish everything was perfect and this includes the booking process which is simple and straightforward. Michael our driver was amazing, he is very funny and knowledgeable and shows you all the amazing sights in Auckland that you may not get to see if you tried to do it on your own. Michael is a local and he gives an excellent insight into what it is like to live in Auckland and his knowledge of the area and it’s history is impressive. He is happy to answer any questions you have and gives helpful information and advice on any places that you may visit during your stay. Such an enjoyable activity I really cannot recommend this highly enough. Thank you so much Michael.

This was a very pleasant afternoon. Only in Auckland for 2 days and this tour provided a great overview of the city from different views within and around the city. Michael gives the insider's perspective and insights you won't likely get on other tours. I especially liked that, although there was a plan and a schedule, Michael was flexible and asked if anybody needed a coffee or bathroom break as we went along the tour. He also did not rush us, which I appreciated, as I like to take pictures and hate being rushed. Michael referred to each of us by name--nice! Highly recommend.

Yes, lots of photo opportunities. Our favourite was the one under the bridge looking across the water at the city. Because Mike knows the area really well and has done the tour many times, he knows exactly where to go and he gives you plenty of time to take your pics.

Our Caribbean ship will be in Auckland port for one day . Can we get picked up at the port ?? If not can anyone suggest how to get to city central to join a tour ??

He picked up his people at the dock and then made a special trip to pick us up at the Luggage Hotel nearby. He dropped us off at the Maritime Museum which is close by and well worth your time. We did the morning tour and the Maritime Museum and still had time to make our late afternoon flight back to Kansas City.
This sounds like what I'm looking for on my first day. Is a lot of walking required to enjoy the tour? I had knee surgery earlier this year so no longer can walk long distances, or for long periods of time, and stairs can be prohibitive sometimes, too. Not how I wanted to make the visit :( but I still want to make the most of my trip! Any suggestions?
