Transfer to a 10-seat zodiac boat that takes you around the Te Whanganui-A-Hei Marine Reserve, which includes massive sea caves, coral reef, and sandy bays such as the popular Cathedral Cove, which was featured on the film 'The Chronicles Of Narnia: Prince Caspian.' Fantastic Day with Lorraine and Tui Tours
Feb 2020
My husband and I recently spent the day with Lorraine in New Zealand, who owns and runs Tui tours with her husband (Tui is actually a bird and not the unpopular tour group Tui in the UK!). Lorraine picked us up at our hotel at 6:30 in a new and very comfortable Mercedes van. We traveled two hours to the coast over beautiful mountains and farm lands. Lorraine was very personable and shared lots of interesting history of the area. We arrived at the beach where Cathedral Cove is located and took a one hour boat tour (again the guides were very informative), followed by a brisk hike down to Cathedral Cove Beach with stunning scenery the entire way. Lorraine then took us to a lovely lunch at a local cafe followed by a trip to the Hot Thermal Beach which was something we had never experienced before. We then make the drive back across the country, where we stopped for a short hike up a volcano where the views were again stunning. We were rewarded with this last hike with a scoop of local ice cream and a relaxed drive back to our hotel in Auckland. We can not stay enough about the wonderful day we had with Lorraine and Tui tours and would highly recommend them for a fantastic day out! Joe and Chris

Great tour, zodiac boat ride was the highlight
Jan 2020
Although this was marketed on viator as a private tour, we had another couple join us which was fine as we were very compatible (Tui tours on their website markets their tours as “small group”). The tour itself was great, especially the zodiac boat ride around the bay, zipping in/out of the craggy inlets and around Cathedral Cove. Second best was Mt Paku, riding up most of the way, walking up the rest to the tippy-top for a fantastic view. The thermals weren’t much at the time of the day we were there, but I wasn’t interested in them anyway (and made that known beforehand). We chose not to do the cathedral cove walk due to a back injury, and the alternative walk was pleasant, but not much additional scenery than from the top (so my preference would have been to do the cove walk if I were able). We saw quite a bit of one side of Cathedral cove from the zodiac boat ride (which we did before the walk option), and to do the walk all the way thru the cove/cave at the time we were there would have meant a swimsuit (i.e. no dry walk but probably not very deep). Lorraine and her husband /driver were very friendly, told us a lot of history throughout, especially during the drive. The chosen lunch place was fantastic, absolutely the best food I had in NZ during the entire trip. Snacks provided throughout the day were plenty. Yes, I would definitely recommend this tour.

A fantastic and pleasant day!!
Feb 2020
It was a fantastic day, not only because of Coromandel, the Cathedral Cove and the boat trip, but also because of Ron and Lorraine wonderful support and attention!
As it is a long way from Auckland to Coromandel, Ron and Lorraine dedicated this time to explain to us all the history involving the places we would visit and about New Zeland culture.
We had a wonderful lunch time and a picturesque TIP-TOP New Zeland ice cream before returning to Auckland.
Thanks a lot Ron and Lorraine for this pleasant experience!

Thank you Alexandre and Frabiana for taking the time to review your tour with Tui, I hope you ejoy the rest of your time in New Zealand before heading back to Brazil. It was wonderful spending the day with you, and pleased you enjoyed your time at Cathedral Cove, Hot Water Beach and on the Hahei explorer boat trip out to the Marine Reserve and coves. Plus the view from Mt Paku. It is always a lovely day at the beach. We hope to see you back in New Zealand all the best on your travels.

Overall the trip was good .

We felt rushed during the first part of the trip however later we understood that we were rushed to catch the boat ride during high tide.

Overall a good one

Thank you GJ for taking the time to review your Coromandel Coast Tour with Lorraine. On the Coromandel tour we need to work with our tides for the Hot Water Beach, as we need to time this at low tide. Some times we need to pick you up earlier, so we can also get you on the boat ride to ensure you get into the sea caves at high tide, which is one of the highlights of the tour. Other tours we have made it a little later. The tide changes every day so we are flexible and work at getting you at these locations at the best possible time for our guests on the day. We wish you a safe trip home and many more adventures.

We felt like part of the family!
Mar 2019 • Friends
Lorraine and Ron are some of the friendliest folks! They picked up our group bright and early in a spotless passenger van. We started our drive towards the peninsula and Lorraine had some great history lessons about New Zealand, the geology of the area, and some economics of NZ. She told great stories in a way that was entertaining and educational. They took us under their wing and had a great day planned for us. They didn't just drop us off at Cathedral Cove. They had several stops along the way planned including a hike up a volcano for some great views, hot springs beaches, and.... ICE CREAM! They were prepared with waters, snacks, SPF, and even towels. Lorraine and Ron were also flexible. At one point we split our group in two because some folks didn't want to do the hike to Cathedral Cove so Lorraine and Ron drove them to the beach, showed them around, and came back to pick up those who did the hike. I have to say I really enjoyed my time spent with those two! They are the kind of couple who you feel like you can just sit down and have coffee... (or tea) with! HIGHLY RECCOMEND Tui Tours!

Thank you for taking the time to review your Cormandel Cathedral Cove Boat and land tour for Tui Tours. It was wonderful to have a great group with us for the day. We do custom make your day especially at low tide for Hot water beach and we do give options for hiking down to Cathedral Cove or a walk on the beach - to the beautiful Cooks beach and look outs along the way. The boat tour into the Marine Reserve also gives you a different view of our volcanic history and Marine life. We would love to welcome you back if you ever get down to New Zealand again, all the best and happy travels.

Amazing Day
Feb 2019 • Couples
We had a lovely day with Lorraine, and by the end of the day it felt like you were out with a friend. It was a small group which was nice as you had plenty of time to enjoy the amazing sights on this trip. The scenery is just amazing, lunch was lovely and we were even treated to an ice-cream on the way home. If you are in Auckland don't miss the chance to do this trip with TUI you will not be disappointed and will come home with lovely memories. Thank you Lorraine.

Highlight of our time “Down Under”! A must-do!
Mar 2019 • Couples
We had a wonderful day trip with Lorraine and Ron, the owners and operators of Tui Tours! The Coromandel peninsula area is beautiful and we got the BEST photos of our 3 week trip to Australia and New Zealand here! Lorraine and Ron took excellent care of all of our needs throughout the day; from beach towels, to cool waters, to perfect lunch and ice cream stops, to answering all of our questions about the history and customs of NZ. We enjoyed every moment of our tour; beginning to end. We appreciated seeing much more of this amazing country and we recommend this tour to all of our family and friends heading Down Under! Enjoy the sunshine and kiwi love, and take the time to see this special part of the country!

Thank you KWW33 for taking the time to review your tour to the Coromandel with Tui Tours. We love the Coromandel and beautiful Hahei Beach and enjoy sharing this piece of paradise. We make sure you see Cathedral Cove by water but you always have the option to walk down and back to give you that magnificent vista. It is pleasurable to soak your toes in the hot water at Hot water Beach. We drive half way up Mt Paku and you have the option to hike (15 minutes) to the summit for the views over the Pacific Ocean. We really enjoyed our time with your small group and we wish you all the best with your travels and we loved to welcome you back to New Zealand soon.

Amazing views!
Dec 2018 • Couples
Loved the trip. We were picked up in a brand new vehicle, which was air conditioned and spotless. The trip included a nice drive through the scenic Coromandel mountains, stops for photos, stop at the beach where you can dig a whole to experience hot water gushing out, nice lunch in a beautiful setting; but the main attraction for me, was the Cathedral Coves, which were absolutely gorgeous. To top it off, there was a boat ride included to admire the shore line and other caves by a boat. This was absolutely stunning, the boat was little and crowded but because of the size, we were able to get very close to the shore and inside a cave.

The entire trip was amazing and I would highly recommend it.
