Overview
Explore the aerial terrain around the Auckland region and its volcanic Island’s during a 40-minute seaplane tour. Fly over Auckland landmarks such as the Sky Tower and Harbour Bridge, and take in the bird's-eye views of Lake Pupuke, Rangitoto, Motutapu, Motuihe, and Brown’s islands from above before a landing next to the Harbour Bridge. Hear live commentary from the pilot on natural features such as white-sand beaches and volcanic craters dotting the Hauraki Gulf. Select a morning or afternoon flight.
What to Expect
Meet your pilot at Wynyard Quarter in central Auckland and board one of our 2 De Havilland Beaver 8 seater seaplanes for a memorable 20-minute flight over the Auckland Harbour and the Hauraki Gulf.

Expect the entire experience to last about 40 minutes in the aircraft including an exciting water take-off. Slip on the provided radio headset to hear your pilot’s narration, and peer down at the yachts dotting Auckland Harbour. Soar over the freshwater crater of Lake Pupuke en-route to the Hauraki Gulf. Gaze down at Rangitoto Island, Auckland’s youngest volcano, as your seaplane flies just 500 feet (150 meters) above the crater before continuing over Motutapu Island. Loop back towards the Auckland region by way of forested Motuihe Island, a recreational reserve that contains Maori archaeological artifacts, a historic cemetery and military installations from both world wars. Your pilot then passes close by Brown’s Island, one of the best-preserved volcanic craters in the Auckland Volcanic Field.

Your pilot points out city landmarks such as the Auckland Museum and the orbits the 1,076-foot (328-meter) Sky Tower before splashing down on the water next to the Harbour Bridge and taxiing back to shore, where your aerial tour ends.

Flying high to Kawau... the only way to go!

Simply amazing. Captain was awesome, and the commentary was very insightful - quite a funny chap too. Bought the whole experience together. Oh... the bubbles before hand went down a treat. Thanks for a truly memorable experience.

We had a brilliant flight - set out to fly over Rangitoto (which was great), and also dropped off other passengers on Waiheke Island, which was a lovely bonus. It was a unique experience, taking off and landing on the sea. Chatting with our pilot...More

We had such a brilliant day, this was the best way to start a friends surprise birthday morning; stunning views over the volcanoes and islands around Auckland. So different to see them from the sky! And fun to start from the harbor too, very cool...More
