Meet your guide at a predetermined location at the rainforest entrance and receive a safety briefing before embarking on a Northland wilderness walk. Your full-day outdoor adventure starts with a hike down uneven stairs carved into the trail.
Listen to the sounds of the subtropical forest teeming with native flora and fauna identified by your guide. The first portion of your walk covers just .6 miles (1 km) to an established camp where you can relax while morning tea and lunch are served.
Let your guide know which activities you’d prefer to participate in during the afternoon. Hike under 1,000-year-old kauri trees, go birdwatching, hunt for colorful orchids, search for threatened eels in the stream or catch (and release) crayfish — it’s entirely up to you!
