      Relaxing cruise
We enjoyed a lovely cruise, with the only drawback being that there were limited seats on the first half of the cruise, although this was remedied when we berthed in Perth and many passengers disembarked. We were then able to choose a table for the return trip. The commentary was informative without being boring. It was very comfortable both inside and also sitting on the back deck. The views of the city and the river were lovely.

      Enjoyable calm cruise
After a stay on Rottnest I returned to Victory Quay Fremantle to connect with the Swan River cruise into Perth CBD. A leisurely time observing the surrounding area with excellent commentary. Much better than Uber and I took away a different view of Perth . So pleased I did the trip still had plenty of time for my flight back home .

A DAY OUT ON THE RIVER..
Always a treat and nice way to celebrate a birthday. It was a cool cloudy day but the ambiance and staff were warm and friendly... The buffet lunch was more than ample and the new lamb spareribs were a delicious surprise !! The sound system seems improved and clearer so good to hear more of the commentary. My husband and i thoroughly enjoyed the day out.

Great views; great commentary; a lovely hour or so
I think this cruise is excellent value. The Swan River is gorgeous and has a fascinating history; and the commentary gave the history in a succinct, informative and pleasant manner. The boat is comfortable, with fine views on both sides. I went at a quiet time; it might be less attractive at a busy one.

      Nice short cruise
A nice relaxing trip. Captain did a good job. Weather was fine. Freemantle was a disappointment - dirty, deserted and down at heel.

      Dinner river cruise
Plenty of variety of food to choose from. The entertainer had a beautiful voice and sang easy listening songs. The crew were friendly and the boat trip was pleasant.

      Fun and enjoyable day out!
We had a great day tasting wine, enjoying a tasty lunch and cheese platter and trying chocolates before cruising back to Perth. A couple of the staff sung on the cruise back which was a real highlight.

Being a tourist in my own city
My Melbourne visitor and I really enjoyed it. Plenty of sitting room, great view of the sights and Captain’s commentary was enough information. Will do it again.

Sad ending to what should have been a good day
The coach part of the tour was excellent and well run. Sadly we chose to return via boat. We waited 20 mins for a second coach to arrive which shortened the time of the cruise. Some of the people from the second coach had drank far too much and were and rude. My wife verbally threatened and swore at. The boat then had to return to the docks early. The crew did very little to calm things down other than to keep serving drinks

A fun outing even for a solo
WOW what a fantastic afternoon the driver of the bus was just a drive no commentary at all . But after two lovely winery you get on the boat and then the fun starts the staff really make it special I danced sang and had a wonderful time I met the most delightful people who I am sure we will be friends from Ireland to near Adelaide as a solo traveler I would highly recommend this trip , But the highlight was one of the staff who sang some great songs and made the boat rock thank you one and all for a wonderful trip Madeline

      Leisurely river cruise
Perth to Fremantle and return lunch river cruise. We booked the day prior at their office on the jetty (which is more expensive than booking online a lot earlier). Very friendly and helpful assistant. The MV James Stirling boat had 2 levels and was clean. The cruise ran on time. Our tickets included reserved seating and a buffet lunch on the lower level. Nice lunch with plenty of fresh food. Good commentary. Staff were organised and on top of their game. Based on our experience, we would recommend this cruise.

Natural beauty, great food, friendly staff
Blown away by; the beauty of the river, the generosity of food and drinks and the friendliness of the staff, this all created an amazing atmosphere amongst everyone on board. If you want to see Perths natural beauty I would recommend this day trip. Funny thing is that we are locals from Fremantle and totally loved the trip. 10 out of 10 from us.

Nice way to spend an evening
Excellent food and service. Nice music and very relaxed evening. Only negative is the dining area at the rear next to the bar is quite noisy from the engines and too far away from the entertainment to hear.

Fantastic experience, customer service and flexibility. The cruise from Perth to Swan Valley was the perfect start to a great day. Knowledgeable captain sharing information about the sights on the way and efficient and knowledgeable staff sharing wine tasting tips and techniques along with generous wine samples and a cheese board to get us started!
Long table lunch with adult beverage included was then provided after a very short drive from the jetty to the Homestead Brewery at Mandoon Estate.
After lunch we split into two groups. Those returning by bus and those returning on a later cruise. Despite having actually booked the cruise return we were graciously allowed to stay with the bus and visit additional wineries and a brewery. This made our day!
Highly recommended tour but ensure you start out hungry! You WILL be satiated...

Hi W3690RQpaulg, Thank you for taking the time to write such a nice and detailed review! We are glad you enjoyed the commentary together with the food and drinks on board. I absolutely agree to start the day hungry, because you will most certainly be full of nice food and great wine at the end of the day! Kind Regards, Rachel

Our original trip( gourmet wine cruise) was sadly cancelled by the cruise company and we were offered a refund or an alternative cruise. We opted for the alternative cruise which was running on the same day as our cancelled trip.
    Good points..
Crew were entertaining and very helpful.
Wine tasting on board was nice with cheese and biscuits
Wine tasting at winery well organised and good
    Chocolate stop was ok
Trip back on river was very pleasant with free flow wine
    Not so good points…
Drinking water on boat was vile -sorry to be brutal but chemical city and undrinkable with no option to buy bottled water..
Lunch was pre ordered and very basic menu ( burgers salad pizza). Sadly several lunches were served 25 mins after everyone else..
Mini bus was mini! If you’ve got a bit of a girth ( I have!) it was quite tight to pass up and down the aisle.
Bus driver was very good though and she drove us very nicely.
All in all the day was ok but quite expensive for a river trip with burger and chips or pizza. I think the gourmet meal at sandlefords winery would have been much better but we didn’t get that opportunity.

Thanks so much for providing us with detailed feedback on your recent tour with us. Gladly we see that you found lots of good points from your day out, but we are sorry to hear about the taste of the water on the boat. We will follow this up immediately. We are also sorry with the delay in your lunch, that'd not good at all, and must have been a little frustrating for you. Hopefully we get the opportunity to maybe welcome you back another time in the future, for ideally an experience at Sandalford. Kind regards, Kat from Captain Cook Cruises

Small bus through Gilford to Swan Valley by a very informative driver named Keith. Had a fabulous day with lunch, cheese, chocolates, afternoon tea & drinks along the Swan River on the way back to Perth. Staff on board the vessel were entertaining & just fabulous, they made a verry happy, joyous atmosphere.

I booked this cruise for a group of 12 lively ladies to celebrate my milestone birthday. From booking the cruise to boarding the boat, everything was really easy and communication great. The cruise is excellent value, considering all the inclusions you get. The cakes on arrival were fabulous, followed by generous cheese boards and then onto wine tasting.
The boat couldn’t sail all the way up to Guildford as planned due to a high tide, however this was no problem and we were kept informed along the way. We sailed to Marylands instead and a bus then took us up the Swan Valley. Fabulous lunch at the Mandoon Estate ( yet more food), then onto the always wonderful Lancaster Winery. Lots of wine tasting! And yet more cheese boards. Then onto the Margaret River Chocolate Factory- chocolate platters… we are very full up now! Back on the boat for the bar opening, more cake and some fantastic entertainment with Lauren singing. The boat had a real party mode on the way back with many groups having celebrations and it was so much fun.
Thank you to all the crew on the boat who worked so hard, especially Lauren ( fabulous voice too) and the lovely Emilie from Belgium. And thanks Kim, our tour guide who played some cracking 80’s tunes on our minibus.
I’d highly recommend this cruise, especially if you are celebrating something, I had a fantastic day!

Hi Salfordred_9, Its always our pleasure to welcome groups on board our tours, and the team at Lancaster Wines really do a magnificent cheese board and tastings. My personal favorite is the chocolate samples at the Margaret River Chocolate Factory - delicious! We appreciate all your positive feedback and will let the team at Mandoon Estate know, as well as our excellent crew, to keep up the good work. Kind regards, Travis

Great day. Mixture of boat and bus depending on the tides. Food and wines galore. The commentary going there was mixed. Lots of people talking while the captain was talking. Maybe give an option for those who want to listen….give headsets to listen and to also drown out the idle chatter.
Choice of wineries were nice but I didn’t find a wine I could rave about.
    Meet some lovely people.
The staff singing on the way back was not my cup of tea.
Good day though. More positives than negatives.

What a great day in the Swan River, wine, cheese, tastings and death by chocolate to finish off with. Very generous with the tastings on board, and unlimited wine on the way back - lots of people falling asleep though! The lunch at Homestead was superb as well. Never had chocolate liqueur either which was a novel experience. All in all a great day out.

It sounds like you had a splendid day up at the Swan Valley and on our Taste of the Swan Valley - one of my favorite cruises and tours we operate! We went to Perth for a two-week holiday in June and booked this cruise several weeks ahead of our departure. While we were in Perth, the company rang to advise that the date we had booked had been cancelled, so we changed to the following day. Then they rang to advise that this cruise had also been cancelled, so we claimed a refund.

This was very disappointing because we only had limited options and it was something we were looking forward to as part of our Perth visit.

So, I have no idea what the cruise was like! And pretty poor that such a renowned cruise company can't manage their bookings.

Good afternoon, Thank you so much for providing feedback and please accept our sincere apologies for both cruise cancellations, we are very sorry for this disappointing outcome. Somtimes we do need to cancel for operational reasons but we agree, that cancelling once and then again for the next day is certainly not ideal, and a situation that we avoid as much as we can. This is a rare occurrence, fortunately. Hopefully we will have the opportunity to welcome you back on board with us another time in the future. Kind regards, Kat

I was one of a group of 8 people celebrating a birthday. We started at Elizabeth Quay and hopped on a bus then hit a few vineyards. Absolutely worthwhile. Got wasted. Cheese was fabulous. After the 3rd vineyard, we hopped on the cruiser and had a very nice, slow journey back to Elizabeth Quay. Entertained by the crew, Jess and Lauren, both of whom can sing exceptionally well. Food was good, followed by more wine...talk about getting sloshed! Wine, women and song in the one place. I HIGHLY recommend Captain Cook Cruisers. Fabulous day.

From stepping on board the boat and greeted with coffee/tea & muffins all the way through to a delicious lunch at Homestead Brewery, wine tasting at Lancaster winery and visit to the Margaret River Chocolate factory, everything was very well organised by the super friendly crew. It was a lovely day on Swan River complete with a detailed commentary and opportunity to meet other tourists in a relaxed setting. Plenty of wines & cheeses to sample all day.

We had a lovely day on this river cruise down the swan river and into the swan valley! The crew on board, Lauren, Rod and Andrew, were extremely friendly, and the entertainment from Lauren on the trip home was excellent! The wine, cheese, morning tea, afternoon tea and coffee provided on board was well worth the money spent! I would highly recommended this experience 😊
