What to expect
• After your complimentary city accommodation pick up journey east and a historical wonderland awaits, through the townships of historical Guildford, Midland, and the picturesque regions of Mundaring and Sawyers Valley, soaking up spectacular views of the Darling mountain Ranges along the way on your drive to York • Arrive in the historic Town of York, characterized by dainty cottages and colorful rose gardens and enjoy a walk along the majestic Avon River and the famous swinging bridge. • Drive past the large farms and huge machinery used in this wheat belt area, for which our country is so famous for. • Visit the wheat belt town of Corrigin with its unique Dog Cemetery, dedicated to man’s best friend. Dogs play a vital and important role with farmers in the rural regions of Australia. • Arrive in Hyden to marvel at the iconic Wave Rock, a huge granite block resembling the shape of an Ocean wave – in the middle of the desert which has colorful etchings believed to be 2.63 billion years old. The Wave rock according to geologists was at one time under the ocean and over centuries the receding waters left marks on the rock, which can be seen even today. Please note presently the closest ocean waters are almost 250 km’s away at the closest point. • Enjoy a light lunch in Hyden and an Eco-Walk up the Wave Rock to soak up the natural landscape and the wonderment of the surrounding countryside area. • Explore Hippo’s Yawn Cave – a rock resembling a yawning African hippopotamus, that stands at over 12 meters tall. • Pass through picturesque fruit orchards on the leisurely journey back to Perth. • Enjoy the seasonal wildflowers of the area, in season from mid-July to October. • After a wonderful day out travel back to Perth through fruit orchards & other local towns. This tour concludes either at your accommodation or you can choose to be dropped off at another location within Perth CBD. Well worth a visit but a long drive
Mar 2020 • Friends
My brother and I did this tour on 6th March 2020. It was worth the very long drive as on the way there, it was broken up by visiting Historic York, the Dog Cemetery and the failed rabbit fencing, all really interesting. Lunch was average at best. Think I would have preferred to pay less and take my own being honest. We also saw Hippo Rock which I loved before getting to the wave. Our guide was helpful but there was only 4 of us. The other couple were not really talkative so it made for awkward silences. Anyway, it was worth the 8 hours spent travelling.

Gday Maria - Thanks a lot for your comments here, and we appreciate your frank opinion. Yes sadly it is far away from Perth venue, but as you mention it is definitely worth the long drive as it is a one of a kind natural phenomenon on the planet. Hope to see you all here again some time

Safe ride and pick up service from campsite
Jan 2020 • Couples
We stayed in a suburb campsite near Perth and they picked us up from there (and back) for the 12 hours wave-rock-tour. Newer minibus, excellent driver, not one uncomfortable situation during the hole day. Long ride - recommendable.

Mind blowing
Dec 2019 • Family
The tour guide was very engaging and shared interesting facts about the tour. We absolutely loved the countryside. It was refreshing and relaxing. The wave rock and the yawn hippo cave were the main highlights of the tour. I have never seen anything like wave rock before. It is very unique.

Really not worth the ride
Sep 2019
Though the Wave rock is interesting. The ride there is LONG and BORING!
As for stopping in Historic York, it is only for a bathroom break, I did not even have time to take out my camera.
Why we stopped at a dog cemetary is beyond me! It was devastating!!! I am a pet lover and I could not stop crying reading each stone, I almost had a full breakdown on the bus.
The tour guide said there was nothing to reaaly say about all the famrmland, do he didn't say a thing.
On a good note, he did make sure to get me a lunch to accomidate my food allergies, which the cafe made special just for me.
When we got to wave rock, he just left us to get petrol, did not explain the phenonenom, told us we could read it on the boards, but then he gave us a time limit to get back to the bus, to couldn't really read it at all.
In hindsight, I would have saved this day and spent 2 days in Freemantle, which is a more interesting place to visit.

Gday Meryl - Thanks for your review for Wave rock. Yes sadly the Rock is a bit far to travel, but we cannot do anything about it.It is a unique natures phenomenon which people travel from across the world to view. The brochure & website informs everyone time of departing city & return times etc. The Dog cemetery being an emotional thing for you is noted. Sadly every persons different and we do empathize with your emotions. Being a long trip we do have to maintain the times. Hope you Have a great day

Wave Rock tour
To finally see Wave Rock was amazing and another item ticked off my bucket list. Be prepared for a very long day however. A few of us on the tour said we could’ve foregone the dog cemetery visit as it took time away from Wave Rock and was not that interesting. It would’ve been nice to have that extra half hour at the Rock to walk to the top, read all the info and check out the view and perhaps walk to Hippos Yawn from there to stretch our legs. It was very rushed I felt. Also book on-line. If you walk in off the street they charge some extra fee which I could not quite understand why as I used an eftpos card not a credit card! I was not told of this extra fee until after he’d processed my card at the back of the office where I couldn’t see him do it otherwise I would’ve walked across the street to the eftpos machine and given him cash. Nobody else on my trip paid the extra but, they’d booked on line. Aside from that though well worth a day out and I’m glad I went as I met some lovely people.

Wonderful birthday experience
I have booked 2 tours with Aussie Perth Tours. The wave rock tour has pushed through but the Pinnacles tour didn't reach the minimum capacity of people for it to happen. However, the company has coordinated with me and I was booked to another company. I am pleased with the service I have received. It is unfair to give bad reviews to this company because I received the best service. Graham is our tour guide. He is very informative, kind and professional. The city of York is interesting, Graham has pointed out a lovely Vietnamese store with great tasting pies. The wave rock is stunning on its own right. It's my first time to see a dog cemetery. Overall it was a wonderful to spend as it is my birthday. I recommened Aussie perth tours!

Great tour!
May 2019 • Solo
I hooked a tour to Wave Rock with Aussie Perth tours, unfortunately the company did not reach the minimum amount of participants to run the tour, however they assisted me very kindly and professionally and booked a tour for the same day with another company, I had to pay only a small amount to cover the upper price of the other company.

The tour itself was great, very informative and with perfect timing given to every activity scheduled.

Thank you!!

Western Australia
We took 2 tours with Aussie Perth Tours, Full day Wave Rock & Historic York, and Overnight Tour to Margaret River & Augusta.
Both tours were excellent. Our Guide and Driver Mark made the long drives very interesting by updating us with details of the areas we were driving thru. He organized a small sing-along on the coach which was fun. Could not have asked for a better tour guide.

A great all day tour with an outstanding and informative tour guide
Nov 2018 • Couples
If you would like to discover the beautiful out back of Australia, hop on this full day tour. The highlight is at the furtherest point , Wave rock. It is well worth the drive.
We were lucky to have the wonderful guide Mark .Along with recent historical facts about the towns etc, he willingly shared his personal knowledge of the aboriginal people who were the first people to arrive in Australia .Because we were only a small group he was able to stop and point out interesting pop ups, such as a blue tongue sunbathing on the roadside. We highly recommend this tour.
