My kids and I traveled in Australia for 3 weeks and this was their favorite trip. Mac is fun and informative. Blankets were thoughtfully provided. It's a very exciting trip, highly recommended.

Discover the charms of the Phillip Island penguins. Enjoy a comfortable 2-hour drive from Melbourne and walk around The Nobbies looking for swamp wallabies and Cape Barren geese. Visit the Penguin Parade Visitor Information Centre and stop at the café before having a seat near the water to watch the main event. Take in the unforgettable sight of streams of penguins emerging from the ocean after fishing in Bass Strait.
This renowned small group Phillip Island Penguin Parade Tour from Melbourne is a friendly and personal way to enjoy the unique spectacle of the island’s famous little penguins returning home at dusk after a day of fishing in Bass Strait.
Setting off from Melbourne in the afternoon with a maximum of eleven guests, you’ll enjoy the wonderfully scenic drive southeast to Phillip Island. The journey takes around two hours (depending on the traffic) and your knowledgeable local guide will point out places of interest along the way. You’ll also learn interesting historical facts about the small rural towns you pass through.
On arrival at Phillip Island, there should be enough time for a scenic drive and a short stop at The Nobbies for a walk around the headland. Local residents you are likely to meet include swamp wallabies and Cape Barren geese.
The next stop on this Phillip Island Penguin Parade Tour from Melbourne is the Penguin Parade Visitor Information Centre for the main event. When it comes time for the stars of the show to make their appearance (around dusk), you’ll take your seats in the premium Penguins Plus viewing area, which is much smaller than the General Viewing area and set in a different section of the beach. Typically these premium seats allow guests to see more penguins at closer range.
Once the parade concludes, you’ll see many more penguins as you make your way back up the boardwalk to the Visitor Centre.
Bring your camera to take photos of Phillip Island but please note that no photography of the penguins is permitted.
At the end of the allowed penguin viewing time, about one hour, you’ll make your way back to the bus for the return trip to Melbourne. If you are staying in a CBD, Southbank or Docklands hotel you’ll be dropped off at your door.
Enjoy this superb Phillip Island Penguin Parade Tour from Melbourne to one of Victoria’s iconic attractions.
