Mornington Peninsula Wine Tour-Departing Melbourne The Mornington Peninsula Wine Region

Departing from Melbourne we visit the beautiful Mornington Peninsula Wine Region, just an hour outside of Melbourne City Centre. Mornington Peninsula is unique as one of Australia’s only true maritime wine regions. Surrounded by Bass Strait, Western Port and Port Phillip Bays it presents an exciting wine region for winemakers to produce wines to match the beauty and diversity of the landscape. The wineries we choose to visit on your Mornington Peninsula wine tour embody the great tastes and character of this beautiful location.

“AS SEEN IN BEST OF THE MORNINGTON PENINSULA” Epicurean Food and Wine Tours continue their tradition of visiting family owned and operated wineries in all Victorian wine regions. As our guest, you will be able to fully appreciate the hard work, dedication and passion that is involved in producing great wine as well as the love on the Mornington Peninsula for local produce. The area is considered to be a foodie mecca. Join us on the ultimate Mornington Peninsula Food and Wine Tour. Transfers from Melbourne City and most Mornington Peninsula accommodation locations.

Mornington Peninsula Wineries

Yabby Lake Vineyard is the perfect first stop on your wine trail. Here you will taste wines that capture the spirit of this beautiful winery, young and fresh and with great attention to detail in their very small production. The Red Claw label is crafted from fruit on the estate and is available for tasting at their cellar door.

Quealy Wines offers the widest range of wines on the Peninsula. Quealy are experienced, educated, curious and some would think outrageous winemakers. They defy the status quo but are steeped in tradition. You will be greeted by friendly and knowledgeable hosts.  You will taste several of the vineyard expressions of Pinot Gris and Pinot Noir sourced from some of the oldest and finest sites on the Peninsula.

Next stop is Stonier Wines, established in 1978 by Brian Stonier starting with planting a chardonnay vineyard in Merricks on the south side of the Mornington Peninsula. Stonier’s now source grapes from several sites on the Mornington Peninsula. The cellar door opened in 1991 and presents striking architecture designed by well know architect Daryl Jackson whose work includes the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground.

Lunch options include the Merrick's General Store, Merricks Creek or RareHare at Jackalope Hotel . (depending on the day of tour and availability). All offer high quality, local produce for a delicious dining experience, paired with a glass of wine.

Your last winery stop fro the day is the local favourite and one of the oldest wineries in the region, Hickinbotham where you can also taste their craft ale and relax with live music before the return trip to Melbourne City

Yarra Valley Wine Tour

I had the best day and our tour guide was terrific. Very friendly and fun. Nothing was too much to ask. Really appreciated her generosity. We visited 4 wineries that were all very different to each other. Enjoyed the cheese tasting also.
