Really enjoyed the tour. Very relaxed atmosphere the whole way through. Tour guide was excellent and was in control the whole time without making anything stressful even though we were caught in some winds. Highly recommend to anyone wanting to see Melbourne from a different angle

This was an absolute highlight. We were only in Melbourne for a longish weekend and we had a great time on the Sunday morning. Our guide Paul was excellent. Started with very clear instructions with great tips on effective paddling. My wife never paddles and thanks to him she developed great technique right from the start and had a great time and she’s not at all the sporting type! The kayaks were honestly the best kayaks I have ever been in. Very comfortable and easy to control with the foot pedals. Great back support as well, using brilliant foot rests.
Full thanks to Paul for a great time. I should especially thank him for checking the personal flotation device afterwards and finding the unit keys and sending it back to the owner on his own initiative.
Will fly to Melbourne and next time try the night tour which also includes delicious fish and chips on the way.

Great morning out on the water and a really different way to see Melbourne. Paul and Rick gave the perfect amount of instructions so that you felt confident in the kayaks. They guys were knowledgeable and made the morning really fun.

Thanks to our tour guide our experience of Kayaking down the Yarra River in beautiful Melbourne was fun and really interesting. We felt safe and stable in our Sea Kayaks and viewing the city from water level was stunning...A great experience.

It was a really nice experience and the guides were very friendly.
Only issue was is that half of the group were ahead, and there was us and one other couple who were behind; instead of the guide encouraging to go further with the groups ahead of us, we stopped just a bit more than half way and were told to turn back. Found that unfair as we paid the same amount as all other couples, yet didnt get to do the same distance - not because we had an issue with the kayak but because the other couple were slowing us down a bit. We returned back and had to wait about 15 mins for the other couples to arrive back.
Just a tip for future - if the guides could make sure the groups all do the same distance that were paid for.
Overall still a really nice experience to see Melb from the river point of view.

Tour guides friendly and capable. Two-person kayaks in a large group that moved at the pace of the slowest person. What I really needed was four one-person kayaks for a couple hours....no need for baggage or guides or 2 people per boat.

Brilliant couple of hours on the river. Good equipment, good equipment and good pace for young ‘uns. Got to thank the guest who co-kayaked with my, very talkative, 11 yr old. The weather did a typical Melbourne but still great fun.

A great way to spend a sunny Saturday Afternoon. We thoroughly enjoyed the kayak experience and it was great to see Melbourne from a different perspective. the kayak guides were really friendly and knowledgeable and made the river trip very worthwhile. It is a bit harder work than you might think so be prepared for aching shoulders the next day. Overall an excellent outdoor Melbourne experience. Highly recommend this trip to locals and visitors alike.

A really special experience to see the city from a new angle! The tour leaders were friendly and helpful and made everyone feel at ease. The kayaks were very easy to paddle as they have a rudder. I did feel a little strange at the prospect of eating with my hands having been splashed by the Yarra but the tour leaders had antibac and that was fine. The tour isn't overly informative and wouldn't work if it was, as we get spread from each other and it'd be hard to hear - instead it's a fun, contemplative new perspective on Melbourne with key buildings pointed out and space for a few fun facts and stories and chats. Really enjoyable, really glad I did it, hope I will do it again some day!

Yes it would be perfect for your husband and 8year old son. On the tour we did other young children were on it with their parents. The organisers take all the precautions to make it safe and enjoyable
