Overview
Enjoy a small-group full-day tour that combines native wildlife with wine tasting in Victoria’s internationally acclaimed Yarra Valley wine region. Set out from Melbourne for a visit to Healesville Sanctuary, founded in order to preserve and protect endangered animal species, and spend the morning observing koalas, kangaroos, emus and other iconic native animals. Then, head to Yering Station Vineyard for a delicious a la carte main course lunch and wine tasting before finishing the day with cheese and wine at the De Bortoli Winery.
Highlights
  • Savor two guided wine tastings and lunch at wineries in the Yarra Valley
  • Enjoy native wildlife and prepaid, fast entry at the Healesville Sanctuary
  • Learn about Australian winemaking and varietals on guided winery visits
  • Includes convenient pickup and drop-off at Melbourne hotels
What to Expect
After pickup from your Melbourne hotel, set out on the 1-hour drive to the Healesville Sanctuary, a nonprofit conservation center home to over 200 animal species. Your prepaid tickets get you straight inside, so you can spend the entire morning exploring the wildlife sanctuary and spotting native Australian animals such as kangaroos, koalas, emus, wombats, and platypuses.
Continue to the Yarra Valley, where the first stop is Yering Station. After a lovely lunch at the restaurant looking out over the vineyards, take a tour of the historic winery and sample their fine wines.
Your second wine tasting is at De Bortoli Winery, the valley’s largest wine producer. Enjoy a guided tasting and sample a selection of red, white, sparkling, and dessert wines paired with a selection of regional cheeses.
Return to Melbourne via the scenic towns of Steels Creek and Christmas Hills. Your tour ends back at your hotel.

I see no problem if you have a jacket. Vinetrakker is a very good tour company. They take you to some pretty high-end wineries.

The vehicle was a passenger van, seating approximately 12. There was only 10 in our group and it was a really nice size. I would highly recommend this tour and ask for Rob as your guide.
