We started from Melbourne fairly early, enjoying the great scenery amidst a lazy drowsiness that lingered in the van. Our tour guide, Fred, someone who was our companion for two consecutive tours, Philip Island the previous day and the Great ocean road tour, pumped us up with enthusiastic energy that he radiates with engaging stories and legends about the spots and places we passed by. From keen hunting with eyes to spot a koala amidst thick and dense thickets in the rainforest to the beautiful stretch of the sea and the easy drive up and down the hills, the day was jam packed with beautiful sights unique to Australia. Under Fred’s able supervision, we set off on a road to hope and spy for a koala when nature called it a lucky day for us by getting a cute koala crossing the road right when our van was passing by. We stopped the van to notice that our little friend had hurt himself and so Fred helped the little buddy cross the road and climb up a tree, ensuring that any cars approaching stopped to give the koala space and time to move, sans any injuries. We visited Melba Gully with Fred for a brief walk to Anna’s Cascade, enjoying the pathways amid the dense rainforests. Following this, we visited the Twelve Apostles and the Lock Ard Gorge mesmerised with the legend of Tom and Eva as narrated by Fred during the drive through Melbourne, Geelong, and Lorne, enraptured more by the beautiful, aesthetically soothing natural sights that spoke heights about miracles and unparalleled beauty. The tour in all was one of the most amazing ones my family and I have ever been on. Spotting rainbows all along the tour as we made our way by the bay added vibrancy to our day.
We would totally recommend this tour for everyone who wishes to make the most of every moment exploring the beautiful country called Australia and all the treasures that are sheltered here in the state of Victoria. Thank you Fred for all the amazing memories that you ensured we made during the day. We rarely come across personalities as jovial and beautiful and well-meaning as you, and to have had you as your guide and companion during the trip made us really happy. More so, we were glad to have experienced two tours, Philip Island and The Great Ocean Road with you and with Oceania Tours and Travels. For anyone considering going on this tour, don’t hesitate, you’ll enjoy every minute of it without regrets. With love and best wishes :)

First off, our guide Fred, should run for PM of Australia. He never ran out of stories during the entire day and his enthusiasm was contagious. The highlight of the day was our visit to Great Ocean Ecolodge and our first hand, up close, kangaroo experience. We saw large numbers of them in a field and then walked the bush and saw many, many more. The videos I took look like something out of National Geographic. All the while, Fred was telling stories and allowing each guest to experience this incredible visit in their own way. At the tour's end, Fred took us to the center of Brisbane where we met and fed some tree possums. Magical, just magical! When people ask me my favorite thing about our five week trek, the Great Ocean Road tour and our guide, Fred, immediately comes to mind. I see they're suspending tours until May. I strongly suggest you book an early May tour with Fred. He rocks.

Thank you for your fabulous review Paula, but to be honest, we don't want Fred to run for Prime Minister because we would find him hard to replace on our tours.😊 I should also point out that although Fred goes all out to make our tours memorable, he actually took you to a park in Melbourne for his unique possum experience as Brisbane is app a 24 hour drive from here 😊 But we certainly are so glad to read that both our tour and Fred created such fabulous memories for you. Again, thank you so much for your recommendation.

The best part of this trip was saving a koala from the middle of the road, the Apostles, and our guide Fred. He was not only knowledgeable of every aspect, his light-hearted humor kept this group interested non-stop! Of course, the scenery and animals can't be beat but I would definitely recommend doing it with Fred. It was truly a magical day!!

I had booked a full day great ocean road trip on the 03rd of July with Oceania tours at Melbourne and am really happy that I did that . Not only was the experience quite personalised but Fred and Mel from Oceania who accompanied me and another tourists that day were the best tour guides we could have had.

Not only did Fred who was a veteran at this tour give us the correct guidance on the tour but also filled us on a lot of trivia about different locations in Melbourne and every other town located on the Great Ocean Road. You could request Fred to just about stop anywhere there was a photo opportunity and he would readily do so with his ever smiling face. Mel was a great addition too with her trivia about a lot of stuff related to the trip.

All in all…a great day well spent with great hosts. Thank you again Fred and Mel and Thank you Oceania for a great team and well designed tour.

This tour was great! What made it extraordinary was my tour guide Fred. He is very friendly, very knowledgable, and also funny! I travel quite often and go on tours, and there's no one as good as him from my experience. He has stories to tell from him doing these tours for days! I couldn't get enough of them. Besides his overall personality, he will always ask if the group needs any toilet, food, or picture taking breaks. The tour itself left me in awe. All of the places my tour group saw were so much better to see and experience in person rather than in pictures! If you book this tour, I hope you get Fred as your tour guide! -"Christian" (my name is actually Christopher, but I've been called various names of Chris___ that I'm very used to it.) Cheers!

Thank you so much for such an amazing review Chris. As a seasoned traveler, I'm certain Fred will be even more pleased to read your glowing comments of him as a guide. Fred did mention what a fun time he had with this group and how ALL of you managed to stay awake the entire 12 hours of the tour. We, and I'm sure Fred, would love to see you on another of our tours when you next visit down under

Our tour was excellent but our guide Fred made this tour phenomenal for us.
You can read 50 books of Melbourne but Fred will tell you stories and show you places you have never heard of.
With his help we saw Koalas and beautiful birds on our tour.
The highlight should be the Apostels but Fred gave us a whole day full of highlights.

Best wishes from Germany

We had the pleasure of touring the Great Ocean Road with Fred. Although the weather wasn’t the best, Fred made our day very enjoyable with his interesting stories and experiences. Fred knows the route and all the best viewing spots. He was able to find kangaroos in the bush as well as koalas in the trees. We look forward to our trip to Phillips Island today with Fred. We’re sure it will be equally enjoyable.

Fred made the day enjoyable with his endless supply of anecdotes and willingness to answer all our questions. I particularly enjoyed the walk in the bush where we saw kangaroos in the wild as well as the wonderful coastal scenery. Fred obviously knows a lot about the areas we visited and was keen to share his enthusiasm with the group.
It is a long day but there are several stops along the way and Fred stressed that this was our trip so if we wanted to stop and look at something he’d try to accommodate it.

Thanks again for yet another positive review of one of our tours. It IS a long day but guests are constantly amazed at how quickly the hours fly by. We are particularly pleased that you enjoyed the encounter with the kangaroos at the Ecology centre as this is something exclusive to Oceania Tours and Safaris.

Our group had 3 busses and We were fortunate to get the smallest bus with a thoughtful and knowledgeable driver Ricarda. The day with Ricarda felt like a private tour, and she pointed out all the important things not to miss, with a story about each new view. We saw loads of Koala, and Kangaroo, and parrots. The twelve apostles, and the gorge right up the road were beyond description for their power and splendor, It was a very good day. I highly recommend requesting Ricarda as your guide.

Thank you for taking the time to post a review on our Great Ocean Road tour. We certainly agree it is quite spectacular and FYI, (if you go to YouTube and search for Florida Georgia Line 'Holy',) you will see an amazing bird's eye view of the area you visited. Safe travels and we hope to see you back here soon.
