Our driver and guide, Bob, was very personable, knowledgeable and truly aimed to please all persons on the tour. I have a mobility issue, walk with a cane and can only do so much. He was encouraging and helpful, accommodating me when he was able by dropping off as near to spots as he could and picking us up again as near as he could. He even packed up tea, coffee, hot chocolate and some cakes for all of us to enjoy for a mid-morning break along the way. - Sameer A0 contributionsNoah’s Great Ocean TourThe tour started on time. Our tour guide announced his name as Noah, so our expectation was high from the young man. His bus would be our ship for the day. And he did live up to our expectation. From breakfast to dinner a perfect way to spend the day. The explanation for the helicopter ride was great. And the experience was nice. Though the helicopter ride was to be 16 minutes. But we were in the air for exactly 10 minutes. Still the sight was spectacular. All in all a great first day in Melbourne. Cheers Noah ! Hopefully many more of you will enjoy his company as guide.Written October 12, 2024

It was superb! Thanks to our tourguide Leonie we had an unforgatteble experience in the Grampians. The weather was perfect, we did see all animals in wildlife and even close, Wallabies, Roos, even a Dear, all kind of bird. Leonie made the ride shortwhile with her interesting stories and nice music she specially sampled for the tour. Thank you again!

Leonie was our tour guide and she was the best tour guide we ever had. She was very nice and warm with all of us. She told us lots of cool information about the places and the animals that we saw during the tour, including really cool stories of creation from the indigenous people. She was super patient, very knowledgeable, and answered all my questions too. I could tell she’s very passionate about her work and she loves what she does, which is really refreshing to see. All the lookout points and landmarks we stopped at were absolutely stunning! And Leonie kept us all together and she wouldn’t leave anyone behind, which is very nice as well. She also gave us plenty of time at each site. And she made sure we were all fed, properly hydrated, and she gave us all plenty of opportunities to use the facilities too. We had a great time with Leonie and I believe that you will too. We love you, Leonie :D

I‘ve done this tour couple of days ago and I highly recommend this tour to anyone who is traveling by himself and wants to have some company and without worrying about anything. Our tour guide, Leonie was really friendly and outgoing. She knows all the great lookout spots and places where emus and kangaroos hangout. Pick up on time, drop off on time as well which isn’t often with tour companies in general! You can be sure you’ll end the end with amazing memories and pictures!

This was an amazing adventurous trip in Melbourne.
Our tour guide Raquel was super energetic and is a wonderful person.
On the whole day, she was entertaining us with music and telling us about the history of Melbourne and the beautiful walking trails towards the waterfalls.
We are a family of 4 and my aged parents were also able to walk the trail halfway until the short waterfall. She was so patient that she never rushed us to teach any point or comeback.
At the end of the day while returning she was so kind in helping everyone, she asked all of us the place to drop off and she dropped us to our desired location (not the pick up the points)
We would highly recommend #gowesttours and Raquel for such a memorable tour.

I would highly recommend this tour for anyone looking for a day tour of the Grampians. Our guide, Felix, was fantastic!! We went on a particularly hot day and he made the proper adjustments to the trip to ensure that the people who wanted to be out and about could do so, while giving the option to rest for those who wanted to stay out of the heat. Everything was well organized and, of course, the Grampians are beautiful!

Mum and her partner had the best tour experience with Leonie @GoWest Tours. She was extremely professional, friendly, educated & fun. Her ability to communicate in several languages was a big plus! As a local in Melbourne, I'm personally grateful to her for showing mum the beauty of Australia and make her feel welcome.

The scenery is breathtaking up in the mountains, and I think I still haven't recovered from the scale and majesty of the view at Reed Lookout. Don't hesitate to go in winter, MacKenzie Falls is spectacular and full this time of year, and the kangaroos don't seem to mind the cold so you'll definitely be able to get up close and personal (respectfully!)
Literally from the moment Rachael picked us up in the morning, I knew we were going to have an absolute blast. She was so kind, so funny and made everyone feel welcome. We learned so much about the history of all the little towns along the way along with the special connection that Aboriginal people have with the Grampians, and even learned about geology and wildlife!
We had varying ages and fitness levels in our group but Rachael was incredibly accommodating and made sure that everyone got the full experience, and felt looked after. She even passed around some hand painted watercolor guides to Melbourne that she'd made in lockdown for everyone to see! You can tell she genuinely loves her job and I can't thank her enough for making this trip so memorable and perfect!
All to say, if you're going to book a Grampians tour, make it this one!

Be sure to take a camera. The scenery was incredible; we saw kangeroos and lots of birds. The hike through the park was very rocky, so ensure you wear good footwear. I wore walking runners and was fine. Before we started the hike, our guide made sure everyone understood the hiking conditions. Sarah was a great tour guide; she was knowledgeable, attentive, safety conscious and very organized. Sarah liked keeping the group together, referring to us often as family - she even wanted us all to cross the road together. Sarah also made great arrangements for lunch and dinner.

Our tour guide Jacqui was incredible, so much fun....provided a lot of history/knowledge, told jokes, and even sang. The bus was very comfortable (in terms of size, seat cushions, and temperature). Reasonable size group. It was a well thought-out itinerary to limit prolonged periods of driving (since the Grampians are 3 hr from Melbourne). They did a great job keeping the group's itinerary on time. The best parts of the tour in my opinion were the short hike in the "Grand Canyon" section of Hall's Pike and seeing Kangaroos in the wild. I thought the Grampians and waterfalls we saw were a little underwhelming, granted I have seen many impressive mountains and waterfalls elsewhere, so I am a bit biased. All that said, if you want to do some easy hiking in the outdoors in a beautiful area of Australia and see kangaroos, this is the tour for you. I very highly recommend Go West tour company...one of the best tour companies I have taken a tour with.

I did this tour on the 14th of March and had an incredible time! Katherine picked me up in the morning and was full of amazing energy from the very start. She told us stories about the area and kept us well entertained throughout the day. Turns out she is also an actor and if she is half as good at acting as she is at being a tour guide then she's destined for big things. She prepared morning tea for us in a place called Eureka which was a very interesting stop that I was not expecting. Then we went to Hall's Gap for a quick hike, some lunch, and then more exploring. We then headed to the magnificent MacKenzie Falls and then finished at Baroka Lookout which was breathtaking. This tour takes all of the hassle out of exploring what is quite a remote area. You hit all of the highlights without having to worry about a thing and can be back in the city in time to grab a late dinner. If you are thinking about exploring the Grampians then I highly recommend taking this tour!

hi, i would be 7 months pregnant! do you think the hike and trip would be suitable for me?
Written May 11, 2019
Sorry I just saw your question now. It could be a bit hard because while most of the climb was fairly easy, there were some parts that could be a bit of a strain for someone who is 7 months pregnant. You probably wouldn’t want to risk even a small tumble while being pregnant. (You probably gave birth already so congrats to your family too!)

hi, how long would we have to walk for? Does it include uphill walking or include stairs a lot? I'm just wondering if this is suitable for a couple in their late 60s.
Written November 14, 2018
There is one walk that is quite steep and takes about 30 minutes. Do have the option not do it. All others are not difficult. Choose what you want to do.

Hi, I’ll be staying at Mercure Caroline Springs. As it is quite faraway from the city, will you be able to pick me and drop me off at my hotel?

Hi Sherrine84,
You will have to check with the receptionist or online as to where the bus pick up/drop off locations are. Hope this helps.

hi
if we leave for Grampians at 7 am, can we return at 5pm comfortably covering most of the sights?
Written July 24, 2018
Hi, Jeetendra,
The Grampians Tour is a whole day long tour, from as early as 7am pick up to 9pm drop off, and it is a real long drive as well, so it seems almost impossible to come back to town at 5pm. But I thought it definitely worth a whole day since the scenic sights are amazing.
