    Wholesome Tasmanian wine experience
Beautiful wineries and knowledgeable and passionate owners who created an intimate experience for us. Ben was an awesome driver/host who provided lots of knowledge about wines and Tasmania culture and was great just to chat to. Would recommend to do this as a way to experience some of the more smaller and boutique wineries.

    Amazing all round
We had the most amazing day visiting some the best wine, cider, beer and whiskey craftspeople in Tasmania. From the amazing tastings to the incredible sharing of knowledge and experience it was everything we could have asked for. The perfectly timed delicious lunch, the wonderful company of those who joined us on the tour and the wealth of knowledge from our tour organiser meant the day was everything and more than we expected. Tasmania delivers again - we absolutely loved the day.

    Fabulous day wine tasting
Fantastic day out, tasting wine. Small group definitely the way to go. We were 7 but can be up to 11. Tim our guide was fantastic, very knowledgeable about the vineyards we were visiting. Started the day all having coffee and introducing ourselves which really set the scene for the day. Great start at Derwent estate Vineyard where we tried 11 different wines, cheese and crackers were provided, the girl serving the wine was really friendly, letting us take our time and savouring the moment. Lovely sitting by the fire. Then it was on to a small boutique winery Merryworth, where the owner Mark hosted the wine tasting. It was lovely to hear his story and his passion for his wine. This was our favourite of the day and the best Pinot of the day. Lunch was at the Wattle bank cafe. Wonderful food, the salt and pepper squid fantastic. Pooley wines was the third vineyard and disappointing. We were really looking forward to Pooley as it had been recommended by a friend. We got to taste 4 wines, the guy serving seemed to be just going through the motions, felt more commercial, less of the personal touch. The last stop at Craigow was amazing. Barry the owner joined us in the wine tasting, very passionate about what he grows and what he likes. The sparkling Merlot is amazing. Absolutely fantastic trip well worth the money.

    11/10 - worth every cent
We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and recommend it to anyone who wants to get to know the Tasmanian wine scene. Our host/driver (Tim) was very helpful and informative. The vehicle was roomy and comfortable. We met interesting people on our tour and there was never a lull in the conversation.

Support local- you won’t regret this tour or tasting Tassie gin!
We bought this tour for a friends milestone birthday and it was perfect in every way! Ian was a brilliant tour leader sharing so much knowledge with us. After some hiccups with rescheduling Drinks Tasmania went out of their way to make the tour happen for us. There were plenty of sampling of gin and whiskey during the 3 distillery visits and generous tastings at their shop in Richmond. As Tasmanians we learnt so much and are proud to support this local industry.

    Excellent!
Spent an amazing day with friends and made two new friends as we were driven to and from four fantastic wineries. The wine was superb with more than generous different samples, the company was terrific and our guide/driver Gino was interesting and top notch who safely navigated us back and forth. Well worth it.

The personal attention from Peter and the relaxed format is just the beginning of the experience. We visited 3 exceptional distilleries, whereby the generous time spent with the distillers provided a greater insight to the industry. Both Killara and Hobart Distilleries were highlights with such passion and conviction from Kristy an d JJ (cant wait to get my hands on the July release). Lunch was a sensational tasting experience too at Frogmore Creek Winery with local wines and produce provided. Yum! Final stop at Lark was OK, with only one tasting provided, however upon request further tastings were provided (maybe we let our hair down there too much!!!). Ripper day, thanks Peter and see you in your shop next time!!!

What a fun day this was, mate! Thank you for the positive feedback. I really do love my job and what we're doing here at Drink Tasmania. You certainly did 'let your hair down', you crazy lads! I hope you kicked-on into the evening and enjoyed your time on the 'South Island of Australia'. You can come and wear wigs on tour any time you like! HA HA! Warm regards, Peter.

I booked this tour for my husband’s birthday, and we came from the Gold Coast with our good friends... we were not disappointed!
As a non-drinker, I still thoroughly enjoyed myself, Peter was quite the character who kept us all entertained. He tried very hard to find a drink I liked (bless his heart lol) and I think he was pleased with himself when he presented something that I found “palatable” (albeit mixed with tonic - sorry!)
He truly knows the best places to visit... Hobart Whisky, Old Kempton and who could forget Lady Lark herself at Killara Distillery.
Lunch was at Wattlebanks, and we all agreed it was the best meal we’d had since arriving in Hobart 2 days before!
Most importantly, my husband didn’t wipe the smile off his face the entire day and declared this was by far his “best birthday ever”.

We had an amazing experience with Drink Tasmania. We learnt a lot about whiskey and gin, the staff were extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Seeing the countryside and the historic setting of the distilleries was a fantastic way of exploring the area and experiencing some of the best produce the island has to offer made the full day tour extremely good value for money.

This half day tour showcased a brewery, distillery, a tonic creator, and finished at a very high end distillery. Emma, our tour guide was warm, witty and made us feel very welcome, as well as being highly experienced in the drinks industry, and everything Tasmania.

As a highly experienced whiskey drinker, I was expecting the tour of a tonic factory to be a waste of time. How wrong I was! The passion, energy and communication of Tasmanian Tonic owner was very special, and I'm going to have to up my gin game to compete with my new collection (and knowledge) of tonics! It shows the value of experience in the guide and a quality programme when you are presented with a unique offering like this, that I would never have though of discovering by ourselves.

The brewery and distillery were equally hands on - you could really understand each process, why they matter and how to create the drinks. So much better than a boring wine tour when you're just being talked at the whole time.

My only suggestion is for the company to up its bus game - it was fine but a bit old, and it was so cold that some blankets would have been very welcome.

Thanks for a marvellous experience - highly recommend.

We're thrilled to hear you enjoyed your tour with us Katie! Thank you so much for this feedback, Emma is indeed a warm and witty guide and we are actually in the process of upgrading our bus fleet at the moment! Tasmanian Tonic are a truly unique experience and we're happy to hear they won over an experienced whisky drinker such as yourself. Hope you enjoyed your time in Tasmania and that we see you again next time you're in town! Best wishes, Kate

Our tour was a private tour for 3 of us. We had an amazingly friendly tour guide Emma, who kept us in great spirits and engaged throughout the whole day. She even bought us breakfast as we had come off a big night and she didn't want us having a bad day! Each of the distilleries we went to were varied and overall i couldn't recommend this tour highly enough, great value for money!

Today I was fortunate enough to do a tour that consisted of going to home Hill winery, pagan cider, Willie Smith's apple shed, lark cellar door, Spring bay distillery, shambles brewery and Hobart brewing company.

Tim was our guide and he was excellent, had a great knowledge of local Tasmanian brewers/distillers etc and was keen to answer any questions.

Pagan and Spring bay were my favourites because of the taste and the way the staff interacted with us.

I would recommend drink Tasmania to anyone and I will definitely use your service again whenever I am back in Hobart.

Cheers
Dean

I loved Sullivan’s Cove whiskey. It tasted superb. A magnificent whiskey. I was disappointed that none was for sale but since their new batch was sold out within an hour of release, I understand why. I will go on-line and be ready to purchase some next year.

Learnt heaps about distilling whiskey and grew to appreciate it more.

I'm glad you had a good experience on tour with us, mate. Sorry the one i brough for you to taste in the morning that you loved was sold out. The Tasmanian whisky scene is small and limited releases sell out quickly! A good problem for the producers to have, I suppose. Looking forward to having you back on tour with us another day. Warm regards, Peter.

Initially disappointed as I’d booked for the gin distillery tour which wasn’t able to proceed, this day was a total joy for me and my adult son to share together.
Gino our tour guide was engaging and skilful at connecting the group with each other and a very enthusiastic guide.
I learned so much about whisky and the distillery processes as well as enjoying the tastings and meeting the distillery creatives.
Gino was also keen to ensure we also experienced some
Gin tastings as part of the day given out earlier disappointment.
Our lunch and wine pairings was also special and a lovely pause in the middle of the day.
We were so fortunate to have a wonderful group of participants to share the day with.

Thank you Kate for offering this alternative. I can’t recommend it highly enough.

A perfect day out for Whisky lovers. The tour was very well structured and had a great pace. Our guide Peter was very passionate and informative about the Whisky craft and history. He was also very accommodating and had a great rapport with all the distilleries we visited. The lunch was stop was really good and the number of Whisky samples throughout the day just kept on coming. If you love Whisky than this is a must do when in Tassie!

We thoroughly enjoyed our whisky tour. My husband is a whisky enthusiast, I just went along for the ride but I was pleasantly surprised. Firstly, the guide was very engaging, knowledgeable and passionate. Secondly, the Hobart landscape that we covered was just lovely. Thirdly, the locations we visited were exceptional, welcoming and interesting. As a non-drinker, I now have developed a new appreciation for whisky, the history of, the making of and the tasting of. We were spoilt with samples straight from the barrel and new upcoming unreleased tastings. There were also opportunities to try gin and liquours. We were blessed with a great group who all seemed to be the same age. We all concluded that Hobart Distillery was the favourite of the tour. The tour itself and the whisky. The Hobart Whisky Liquour was my personal favourite. Lunch was also fabulous in Richmond! I would highly recommend this tour.
