      Wine extravagance day
What an amazing day with Peter our tour guide . The weather was incredible and we loved the variation of wine farms we visited . Lunch in Richmond was really good too. We visited 4 wineries in total for the day and arrived back in Hobart with a good varied collection of wine to take home

Brilliant bespoke tour with fantastic guide
Fantastic wine tour across the coal river valley. We visited Derwent Estate, Pressing Matters, Caledon (relatively new) and Craigdow vineyards. All vineyards were distinctively different - great in their own ways. Peter was fantastic - very informative and honest when planning to book the trip and extremely helpful (thank you for including Pressing Matters) and a fantastic guide for the day. Peter was relaxed, welcoming, great fun and informative and done everything to ensure we had a great day. Going solo and taking a tour as opposed to driving is not how I normally tour Tassie vineyards so I was a little anxious about the group mix and how that would go - I had a fantastic time with a great group small group of people. Peter was excellent at facilitating a warm friendly and relaxed environment. Tour exceeded expectations I highly recommended this tour. Thank you Peter for such an incredible day!

Lovely outing that I’d happily recommend!
We had a wonderful time on the wine and cider half-day tour! Pete, our guide, was friendly and thoughtful, even stopping for coffee and letting me grab some fresh cherries along the way. We visited one winery and two cider spots, each unique, family-owned, and full of charm. Pete shared some fun and interesting stories, adding a personal touch to the trip. While the food at the last stop was a bit disappointing—likely due to how busy they were—it didn’t detract from the overall experience. A lovely outing that I’d happily recommend!

      Good Tour great day
Timwas excellent, the day was great(1 hiccup with winery but made up for it!) I preferred starting g at 10, as not too early to start tasting coffee 1st was also a good idea. Tim was interesting, knowledgeable and made the trip. The last stop was amazing, a perfect ending. I liked choosing my own lunch too. Thankyou

      Christmas Eve wine tour
We had a great time with Tim on our wine tour on Christmas Eve. There were plenty of wines included and the wineries chosen were mostly good. The first two were lovely, the lunch was good (pay yourself for this), the third winery was really not great but they have said they won’t go back there on another tour after our feedback. The last winery, Craigow, was the highlight of the whole day. The owner was absolutely brilliant and the wines were fantastic. Thanks Tim and all for a lovely day!!

      A day to remember
We visited five wineries, enjoying every minute of our experience. Our host, Tim, was friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful without being intrusive. The variety in the cheese platter and its matched wines at our first stop was an excellent start to the day. The carefully curated tour presented us with a range of highlights during the day. These included the variety of tastes experienced in the winery/distillery we visited and the winery which cleverly paired house made chocolates and their wines. A special mention goes to our final stop, Craigow, whose Pinot Noir finally helped my husband understand why this wine is a Tassie speciality and a new fit in our wine cellar.

Our Tour guide Ben was incredible. Very knowledgeable and interactive with all in our small intimate tour. Took us to experience incredible wines, ciders, gins, vodkas, whiskeys and beer/stouts all in one fantastic day! Lunch was separate and incredible at Willie Smith Apples but absolutely delicious!

      Delicious drinks and lovely venues
A wonderful day spent in and around Hobart with Drink Tasmania Premium Tours. This tour is absolutely perfect for anyone looking for more variety than just a winery tour or a brewery tour. Why choose just wine or beer, when you can have wine, cider, vodka, gin, whiskey and beer!! And it is an absolute must that you get the applie pie at Willie Smith's! Our tour guide, Tim, started the day with an acknowledgement of country, and this is my first experience of a tour guide doing this. Thank you, Tim. I hope to see more tour guides doing this. Tim was welcoming, knowledgeable, and had a great sense of humour :) Each venue we visited was lovely and provided delicious drinks to taste (and purchase!), and each host really added to the overall experience. If you fancy a drink, this tour is for you!!

A great tour of some of the local alcohol drinks you can find in Tasmania
Pete was great! His selection of wine, cider, whiskey tour places all have that family friendly vibe and he gave us an insight on what it is to live in Tasmania. It was a very memorable experience and one we will always remember. Thank you Pete!

WOW, couldn’t have asked for a better day. We booked this tour 2 years ago but with travel plans thrown out the window with state lockdowns and restrictions we rescheduled. Kate in the office was so easy to deal with and ensured our booking was seem less.
Ben, our guide, greeted us warmly and was an awesome host who’s knowledge of the whiskey industry and local areas was outstanding. We travelled in an air conditioned mini bus, our group was small and very personal.
The distilleries visited showcased the Tasmanian skill in producing their own signature liquid gold and our tasting paddles were certainly generous. Stand out was Old Kempton and Adam certainly entertained us with his knowledge.
Lunch was at Wattlebanks Cafe and Provodore in Richmond - simple food done so well.
Missed out on the Shene and Killara Distilleries but we will be back.
    Definitely great value for money.
Welcome coffee and lunch included with the option of 16 tastings.

Firstly, having been on the whisky tour about 6 years ago, I was very keen to undertake it again when visiting Hobart. I booked myself and 8 friends on the tour. The booking process was seamless. Sadly, a friend contracted Covid the day before and could not attend, but I was pleasantly surprised that we were offered a full refund (minus a small admin charge).

The tour itself was again fantastic. Ben's knowledgeable approach to the region's history, and likely future, was very insightful and he was more than happy to share his own stories. The tour bus was very comfortable, so it was super easy to relax and enjoy the adventure.

We visited 3 distilleries on the day as well as the DT tasting house. The experience at each distillery was pleasingly varied in their processes, whilst all sharing similarities. The styles of whiskies (and gins) reflected that. All distillery staff were excellent and made the group feel very welcome.

Personally, my only small negative was I felt that one of the distilleries was slightly lacking in terms of their product quality (and thus I wouldn't consider them "Premium"), but in saying that, others in the group disagreed and enjoyed it immensely - and that's the great thing about being able to sample local spirits - everyone finishes the tour with different opinions and experiences to share.

I'd be eager to do another DT tour (whisky or otherwise) on my next visit to Hobart. They really make for a great day out!

Our tour was a private tour for 3 of us. We had an amazingly friendly tour guide Emma, who kept us in great spirits and engaged throughout the whole day. She even bought us breakfast as we had come off a big night and she didn't want us having a bad day! Each of the distilleries we went to were varied and overall i couldn't recommend this tour highly enough, great value for money!

This half day tour showcased a brewery, distillery, a tonic creator, and finished at a very high end distillery. Emma, our tour guide was warm, witty and made us feel very welcome, as well as being highly experienced in the drinks industry, and everything Tasmania.

As a highly experienced whiskey drinker, I was expecting the tour of a tonic factory to be a waste of time. How wrong I was! The passion, energy and communication of Tasmanian Tonic owner was very special, and I'm going to have to up my gin game to compete with my new collection (and knowledge) of tonics! It shows the value of experience in the guide and a quality programme when you are presented with a unique offering like this, that I would never have though of discovering by ourselves.

The brewery and distillery were equally hands on - you could really understand each process, why they matter and how to create the drinks. So much better than a boring wine tour when you're just being talked at the whole time.

My only suggestion is for the company to up its bus game - it was fine but a bit old, and it was so cold that some blankets would have been very welcome.

Thanks for a marvellous experience - highly recommend.

We're thrilled to hear you enjoyed your tour with us Katie! Thank you so much for this feedback, Emma is indeed a warm and witty guide and we are actually in the process of upgrading our bus fleet at the moment! Tasmanian Tonic are a truly unique experience and we're happy to hear they won over an experienced whisky drinker such as yourself. Hope you enjoyed your time in Tasmania and that we see you again next time you're in town! Best wishes, Kate

Old Kempton Distillery booked a tour with Drink Tasmania as an educational fun day out for our full time staff.
Peter, our guide, helped us plan the itinerary to ensure we got the most out of our day which included visits to places that dealt with each stage of the distilling process.
Our trip took us to Last Rites Brewery where we enjoyed a generous selection of beer and cider tastings and a tour of the brewery. The experience was both educational and fun for all involved. Next we moved on to Devil's Distillery. John Jarvis is very passionate about what he is doing there and gave a great tour and tasting session. We enjoyed an amazing lunch at St Albi's (GET THE BURGER & Berry cocktail!!) and then went to our last stop of the day, Shene Distillery.
The history and magic of Shene distillery was only improved by the tour we enjoyed with David. You can clearly tell David loves what he does every day and the location is beyond a dream.
Peter/Drink Tasmania made sure we were comfortable, happy and having a great time the entire day - he even let us take over the playlist in the car so that we could do a bit of carpool karaoke on the drive back to Kempton.
I/We can highly recommend you take a tour with this amazing company, they are local, passionate and willing to work with you to ensure you get the best out of your day. Get on it!

What an incredible experience! I was not originally a whisky lover, but Ben's tour of three fantastic Tasmanian distilleries truly opened my eyes to the amazing flavours of whisky. His passion for the craft was infectious, and each distillery showcased unique offerings, providing valuable insights into the production process and the local industry. The lunch served was delicious, and Ben's friendly and generous demeanor made the day even more enjoyable. I highly recommend this tour to anyone, whether you're a whisky enthusiast or just curious to learn more! A huge thank you to Drink Tasmania for a delightful and unforgettable day.

A perfect day out for Whisky lovers. The tour was very well structured and had a great pace. Our guide Peter was very passionate and informative about the Whisky craft and history. He was also very accommodating and had a great rapport with all the distilleries we visited. The lunch was stop was really good and the number of Whisky samples throughout the day just kept on coming. If you love Whisky than this is a must do when in Tassie!

I did 2 tours with drink Tasmania on a recent quick break to Hobart. Both were excellent.
Whiskey tour - Learnt a heap about Whiskey making from 4 distillers from relatively large scale to completely boutique small run distillers. The passion these folk have for their art (product) is amazing. Tastings were very generous and Peter (our guide) made the day alot of fun and was extremely knowledgeable about Tassie and the history of the place and where we were venturing to.
Signature tour - This one gives a great overview of what is made in Tassie. Winery, cideries, distillery and brewery all in one day.
Again, our host Tim was alot of fun as well as very knowledgeable about where and what we were seeing and more importantly tasting. Tastings were again very generous and the the staff very knowledgeable about their products and happy to talk about what they do.
Its worth noting that at no point was there pressure to make purchases on either of the tours I took, although I did dent the card at a couple of places with no regrets :)
Both tours were punctual and well organised as well as being a relaxed day through some beautiful countryside.

The personal attention from Peter and the relaxed format is just the beginning of the experience. We visited 3 exceptional distilleries, whereby the generous time spent with the distillers provided a greater insight to the industry. Both Killara and Hobart Distilleries were highlights with such passion and conviction from Kristy an d JJ (cant wait to get my hands on the July release). Lunch was a sensational tasting experience too at Frogmore Creek Winery with local wines and produce provided. Yum! Final stop at Lark was OK, with only one tasting provided, however upon request further tastings were provided (maybe we let our hair down there too much!!!). Ripper day, thanks Peter and see you in your shop next time!!!

I booked this tour for my husband’s birthday, and we came from the Gold Coast with our good friends... we were not disappointed!
As a non-drinker, I still thoroughly enjoyed myself, Peter was quite the character who kept us all entertained. He tried very hard to find a drink I liked (bless his heart lol) and I think he was pleased with himself when he presented something that I found “palatable” (albeit mixed with tonic - sorry!)
He truly knows the best places to visit... Hobart Whisky, Old Kempton and who could forget Lady Lark herself at Killara Distillery.
Lunch was at Wattlebanks, and we all agreed it was the best meal we’d had since arriving in Hobart 2 days before!
Most importantly, my husband didn’t wipe the smile off his face the entire day and declared this was by far his “best birthday ever”.
