Join us for a fun and action-packed day out on the Tasman Peninsula. Explore, discover and learn with our guides as we enjoy a variety of activities, walks, sightseeing, history, chocolate tasting and much more! Today is action packed and fast paced, so we make an early start from Hobart and drive directly to the stunning Tasman Peninsula. This area has amazing history, fascinating stories and spectacular scenery. It is also home to Australia’s highest sea cliffs. We enjoy the panoramic views of the area from Pirates Bay Lookout which provides a great vantage here of the surrounding area. Passing through Eaglehawk Neck and “The Dogline” our Tour Guides will share with you some truly amazing history and stories of the area. Then we begin one of Tasmania’s “Great Short Walks”. We follow a spectacular track, of around 2 km’s along the Waterfall Bay cliff top. The walk takes around 45-60 minutes, is undulating, but categorised as an easy walk. The track concludes at the remarkable rock formations of Tasman Arch and Devil’s Kitchen. Next stop is the Tasmanian Devil Unzoo. We arrive here for all the action of a Tasmanian Devil Feeding. Watch the snarling, fighting and bone crushing in a spectacle of devilish behaviour during the feeding. Hand feed the wallabies and walk amongst the local fauna and flora in the charming “Unzoo” setting, all activities are supervised by the Unzoo staff with the animals free to approach you as they please! Continuing our journey, we arrive at the Port Arthur Historic Site. As we enter the Port Arthur Historic Site, there is a wealth of information and history to take in and you will have time to explore with around 2.5 hours on site. Your entry includes a complimentary Harbour Cruise around the Isle of the Dead and a guided walking tour with one of the Site’s expert guides. Discover the grim and violent history of the early Australian Penal system and get a sense of the isolation experienced by the convicts in this “inescapable prison”. On our return to Hobart, we make a stop at Federation Chocolate Factory, a small family run boutique chocolate stop, with a variety of chocolate flavours to sample. Further along we arrive in the late afternoon into historic Richmond Village. Meander the streets, stop for a coffee, visit the Lolly Shop and walk across Australia’s oldest bridge still in use – a convict built sand-stone bridge, reported to be haunted! Finally, before we re-enter Hobart we stop for a fabulous view across Hobart from a local lookout. A picturesque way to return to the city. We drop you back to your Hobart City accommodation around 6.00pm. (Airport Drop Offs around 5.00–5.30pm – available only with arrangement at time of booking)

Great destinations but a pretty ordinary tour
We did the Port Arthur and Tassie Devils Day Tour from Hobart. The Tassie Devils were great and well worth the visit. Port Arthur was also well worth it and the walking tour was enthralling and poignant. However our tour guide on the bus from Hobart was unfortunately underwhelming. The tour included a Port Arthur Harbour cruise. Our guide, Jeremy, talked us out of doing the Cruise, (on the grounds it would use up too much of our time) and then appeared surprised when we got back on the bus and nobody had gone on the cruise. He also told us about some of the attractions of Richmond (which we stopped at on the way back to Hobart) after we got got back on the bus. It would have been more helpful to tell us the attractions beforehand, so we could visit them. In summary, the destinations were worthwhile but the overall experience was pretty ordinary.

Amazing tour! Hotel pick up was ontime and despite the rain and hail throughout the day it was a great day and the tour guide for our trip had plenty of stories to cover the long drive patches.

I did this tour as part of the 'Big Three' three-day tour from Hobart to Launceston. The weather on the day of the tour was not ideal, lightly raining nearly the entire day, but I still had a lot of fun. The day started early picking everyone up from their hotels before making a quick stop shortly outside on Hobart for anyone wanting to grab a quick coffee/snack and use the restroom before getting on with the day. We made our way to the Waterfall Bay Cliff Top Walk and seeing the Tasman National Park highlights including the Devil's Kitchen and Tasman Arch. The walk itself was pretty easy. From there, we made our way to the Unzoo where we got to feed kangaroos and see a Tasmanian Devil being fed. We then went to the Port Arthur Historic Site which had two small cafes to purchase lunch from and much to see. You are free to roam about and explore as you want. The tour also included a short cruise through the bay. I personally enjoyed a glass of wine and snacks while listening to the commentary from the guide. After leaving Port Arthur, we made a stop at the Federation Chocolate Factory where we tried unique flavors of chocolates. Last stop on the trip was Richmond where we were able to walk around and explore the various shops on our own. The day was long with so much to see and do, but it was very enjoyable, even with the rain, and I learned a lot from the guides.

Sydney and Tasmania tour.
Great tour but quite a long day. Good to see the Tasmanian devil along with the other wildlife. Also enjoyed Port Arthur where all the UK convicts were jailed.

I did this tour when I was visiting Tassie and it was absolutely amazing. I had Andrew as my tour guide, and he was very informative and took the time to get to know you. He was super friendly, and made sure that the group was having a good time. The Tasman peninsula was really breathtaking, and Andrew let us explore on our own. He was super flexible and I never felt rushed taking in the beauty. The Tassie Devil experience was fun, for an extra $10 it was worth it. The zoo isn't big, so I was able to see everything in the hour that was given. I expected a feeding frenzy for the devils, but there was only one devil there, so don't get your hopes up for that. Port Arthur was definitely the highlight. You can choose to do the introductory tour, but I opted out of it to explore on my own. You only get 3-4 hours at the site, which includes the river cruise. This was the only part I felt rushed at, but otherwise I was still able to walk through the entire park and make it in time for the river cruise.
