    Back in the day
I love Battery Point and it's old beautiful homes which take you back to days long gone.Delightful historic homes which are lovenly looked after with roses a plenty in the mostly tiny gardens. Some of the bigger homes have the most amazing views .

    Lovely historical tour
Writing this review having just attended the tour on 14 Feb. Lisa was a stellar guide - warm, energetic and very knowledgeable. Appreciate how she was able to answer the many questions we had and was flexible with our needs. We gained a much deeper appreciation for Hobart after attending the tour. Many thanks again to Lisa for showing us around the area!

A must do when visiting Hobart
I would highly recommend anyone visiting Hobart does the Hobart History, People & Places walking tour. Lisa was fabulous in her 2 hour commentary of Hobart’s history and I discovered so much that wouldn’t have been possible exploring on my own.

    Battery Point Unveiled.
We were recommended to take a walking tour with Lisa from Hobart Walking Tours. Lisa was outstanding!! We loved the accompanying photo folder. This tour was one of the best historic tours I have ever been on. We were fortunate to be the only couple. It was informative and engaging. We would recommend this tour to anyone, both tourists and residents of Tasmania.

    Intriguing
Hobart's Dark Past Walking Tour was intriguing. Our guide and owner Lisa was very informative and had an obvious passion for Hobart and it's past. The tour gave me a insight to Hobart that is the hidden and untold. This tour open the door for me to learn more.

    Excellent Walk Battery Point
We enjoyed walking through Historic Battery Point. The houses were amazing making History come alive. Many had plaques on them giving you history of the house. We had a delicious morning tea at Jackman & McRoss Bakery , including coffee and a wonderful Scallop pie. We visited historic Narryna House (Merchants House). This was beautifully preserved. Spend a few hours walking through Battery Point. Brings Hobart's history to life- Highly recommended.

Take a walk among historic homes
We were pleasantly surprised that our hotel, Lenna (which is really nice!), is located at Battery Point. The neighborhood is very cute, with old houses built around the 1840s all very well cared for. There are cafes, restaurants and shops mixed in among the houses. We felt very safe. Take a walk and enjoy the sights as we did… you’ll be happy you did!

    Well paced, interesting walking tour
This was a wonderful experience. Our tour guide (and business owner) Lisa shared her enthusiasm and knowledge in a well paced tour. We have been to Hobart a few times, and learnt so much from this tour. We wish we had done it years ago! Thank you Lisa.

    What a Great History Walk
A walk through this area allowed appreciation of wonderful houses that have been beautifully maintained and allowed the ability to see the 1800’s date on each of the entry ways. Whilst some are retained as houses, some are now quaint shops. Hotels and a church on the border of a fabulous park overlooking the Derwent River provides a wonderful backdrop for a delightful stroll. Accessed by Kelly’s Steps in Salamanca Place. A great walk to enjoy on a sunny day.

    Highly recommended walking tour experience
My husband, two adults kids and I spent 2 hours with our guide Debbie on the Historic Battery Point tour yesterday. It was absolutely great. Its the most beautiful area with incredible history and Debbie knew everything that anyone would need to know to bring this history to life for us. It made a huge difference to our exploration of the area. She was waiting for us at the meeting point and did not rush us through any part of the tour. A delightful, educated and interested person and a great storyteller. This is clearly a very professional and experienced tour operation. Highly recommended and very reasonably priced.

The fascinating story behind Hobart buildings and houses
We did the 3 hour back to back tour. It was marvellous. Our guide Diane was so well informed giving the entertaining stories behind the history of Hobart. The tour was well paced wandering up and down the streets.

We enjoyed spending 2 hours with Lisa on the tour around old Hobart. Very informative and friendly. Lisa knew her stuff as she was able to answer various questions along the way. It covers the time since European settlement and highlights buildings, events and several interesting characters. She gave directions for further wandering which we did. Recommended.

This was a very informative and enjoyable tour of Hobart taken on a Saturday morning. Lisa was extremely friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about Hobart and its history. The tour ended at the Salamanca market. Many highlights - but of great interest was the collection behind the newly built Supreme Court. I would highly recommend this walking tour and will definitely be booking some of the other tours offered by Hobart Walking Tours.

We met our guide outside the Henry Jones Art Hotel, a former jam factory, by the waterside in Hobart. Over the next two hours as we slowly meandered from the harbour into the old part of town and parks we learnt so much of Hobart's past from convicts and prisoners to city benefactors. A thoroughly pleasant way to spend an afternoon with a friendly and knowledgeable guide.

Our two hour tour with Deb provided a wealth of information about Hobart and Australia’s early history. Also good knowledge of indigenous matters which cleared up some popular misconceptions.

Well spent time, thanks Deb.

I am so happy that I booked 2 tours with Hobart walking tours. The first was a morning tour “
Hobart History, People & Places - Hobart History” and the second was an evening tour “
Hobart's Dark Past”. Both tours were excellent. Lisa was an awesome tour guide. She showed us around Hobart center and pointed out facts and fiction about history of Hobart. Her voice is clear, she has a wealth of knowledge, and many interesting stories to tell. She is a wonderful storyteller and is a very friendly and lovely young woman. I learned a lot and had a great time. Highly recommended!
