    Just another tourist tour
We did learn some interesting facts but the guide want very engaging. I felt like he was just a bit bored by the whole tour.

A bit of a let down
With many fine OLD pubs in Hobart you'd think this would be a screamer. We saw abou 8 or 10 pubs. Stopped in the first for a drink (pay for your own), wandered past many. Stopped inside another for a look. Pastb a few more and finished inside a last. No drinks. Maybe I was judging by food walking tours I've done elsewhere, you geta taste and some info. Certainly Tassie has plenty of breweries so you could easily do some sampling. Not a schooner each time, but you can get tasting glasses at verious places.

An interesting walk around historic Hobart
I am so glad we did this walk, our guide was informative and had interesting anecdotes. We were shown buildings that we wouldn't have been able to see on our own.

Nice and easy work team activity.
We loved our end of year work tour. Easy to book, and great customer service. Our guide was fun and very knowledgeable. The walking was broken up into easy sections and followed a nice easy walking route. Would definitely recommend for visitors and locals alike.

Knowledge guide and great introduction to Hobart
Diane was outstanding. Her knowledge of the architecture and the history of the city was amazing. It was our first day in Tasmania and the education we received on the tour helped to set the scene for the rest of our visit to this beautiful island.

Fantastic tour with an amazing guide
We did the Old Hobart Pub Tour, and our guide Maggie was absolutely fabulous. My friend and I were lucky enough to have Maggie all to ourselves, and as we walked and talked, she kept pointing out pubs and bars and cafes that she thought would peak our interest for us to come back to. You could tell she really knew her history and was passionate about the city as well. She kept sharing fun and interesting stories and kept us engaged the whole time. A good tour guide can make or break your experience, and Maggie definitely made this for us. This is a definite 10/10

Glimpse of early Hobart history with a good storyteller.
Our guide Diane was a spritely and entertaining character who told the story of Hobart in an interesting way. The stories are an excellent introduction for first time visitors to Hobart. We did the 1 1/2 hour tour that took us from the wharf area, past the older buildings in the CBD and finished in Salamanca Place. We loved viewing the lovely sandstone facades of the buildings and would have enjoyed seeing inside some of them. Would recommend doing.

    Pub walk
It was very informative but at times hard to hear what was being said. A little bit more about the pubs we were in would have been interesting.

    First time to Hobart
We participated in the walk as part of a APT tour group. The guide, Deb, was excellent. She was well informed, had great stories with lots of detailed information. The pace catered for our group as it was rather warm.

    History and beers
A great way to spend a couple of hours learning about the history of Hobart and experiencing a couple of pubs. Brendon was a great storyteller and very engaging.

    History and beer!
Really fun way to see the city and enjoy some terrific pubs we wouldn’t have otherwise visited. Maggie was our guide and she was so knowledgeable and entertained us with her storytelling. Great way to spend a couple of hours!

Not a pub tour: more an historic tour with a pub at the start and end.
Sebastian recognised the former owners of the land then started the tour by stating that prior to the English arriving Tasmania was uninhabited! This is not really a pub tour. If you’ve done the historic Hobart tour it’s the same tour, with a pub to start and a pub to finish. Some of the dates given were slightly out but unless you’re a historian it’s no big deal. Finishing at Irish Murphy’s worked for me as they keep their Guinness well and have a great food menu.

    Delightful Tour
This was a most pleasant tour of historic Hobart, in a small group, with a couple of significant pubs thrown in. Our Tour Guide, Sebastian, was extremely enthusiastic, amusing and knowledgeable. He was a thoroughly nice chap, who was happy to answer all our questions. He was particularly informative about the early development of Hobart, using good visual guides, pointing out things we’d never have noticed. We would recommend.

This was a great tour, we did this a few days after being in Hobart and didnt realise the history we were walking past. John was our tour guide, very knowledgeable about the history of Hobart. Showed us some very interesting parts hidden in the Salamanca area, Battery Point walk opened our eyes to a historic part of town. Would highly recommend and would suggest at the start of your visit so you can go back and explore across your visit.

This was a very informative tour. Jennifer was a very pleasant and knowledgeable guide. Many of the places she took us we could not have found or experienced on our own.

(We backed this tour up with their 1.5 hour historic pub tour with vivacious Maggie. It was lots of walking too albeit it with stops for drinks at the start and end but the effort was well worth it.)

A couple of days after this tour, we visited Old Hobart Town in Richmond (a miniature replica of Hobart as it was in the 1820's) and it was the knowledge gained from both Hobart Walking Tours that allowed us to comprehend what we saw there.

Be warned, the Grand Hobart Walking Tour is 3 hours of standing, walking and climbing steps but if are up to it and Hobart history interests you...don't pass this tour by. If you join the tour well prepared for rain, wind, sun and cold and have comfortable walking shoes, the knowledge you acquire about Hobart will be extensive and enjoyably attained.

We did the 3 hour tour with Dianne who is very engaging and knowledgeable, she really added a lot of flavour to the tour. This walk is great for those who want to learn more about the history of Hobart, we stop off at (and go into) many places you wouldn't normally spot yourself. It was a tour that gave us many insights to Hobart we didn't actually know much about including the often brutal and harsh environment for those who came to the area as convicts, officers and families.

What a fantastic experience this was. Di was our tour guide and she was so much fun and a wealth of knowledge.
We had access to some magnificent homes that the public would not be able to access. My wife and i thoroughly enjoyed this tour. It gave us a real appreciation of the city of Hobart. Thanks again!

I chose this trip because I knew nothing about Hobart or its history. This was the perfect tour to do. Our guide John was very knowledgeable and had a great love for Hobart.

The highlight was Battery Point a very interesting and beautiful area of Hobart filled with old seafarers cottages.

I learnt things from John on the tour I would have never discovered wandering around on my own.

Highly Recommended.

I had a wonderful tour with Gemma as my guide. She was thorough and informative. Gemma knew all the hidden treasures that I would have missed had I walked around the area myself. Definitely worthwhile doing this tour early on when you first visit Hobart.

We really enjoyed spending an afternoon learning about the history of Hobart. Our guide was well-informed and enthusiastic, and showed us places we could never have found on our own, like a widow's walk overlooking the harbour entrance, and the eerily immaculate streets of Battery Point.
