We both just got back from a 7 day kayak trip with Roaring 40's of the South West Wilderness. The trip was life changing. It is a magical place in Tasmania. Tim and Allie were great guides with excellent food,equipment and stable double kayaks. We have both experienced many types of holidays from 6 star to camping, but it would be difficult to find a better holiday than this experience. Great Birthday present. Loved seeing the seals and lunch. I learnt a lot of new things about native animals and the area in general. Tim and Francie were great guides and made it fun.

We did the 8-day Port Davey paddle from Melaleuca out to the sea and back. We both have bushwalked and rafted in SW Tasmania before, but this trip provides a very different and extremely enjoyable way of seeing and experiencing the SW wilderness. We had some beautiful warm days with blue skies and calm seas (fortunately including while crossing the open port) and some that were cold and windy with rougher waters. We expected this from past trips -- and you haven't truly experienced and can't properly understand SW Tassie, if you don't encounter bad weather. But we always felt we were in safe hands, the guides were experienced and always ahead of the weather, the gear was all good, the wilderness camps comfortable even while raining and the food excellent. We've paddled a lot in inland waters in single sea kayaks. By comparison, Roaring Forties' double kayaks are incredibly stable and just right for this trip. The only bit of advice is to make sure you take all the layers you think you'll need to keep warm, both wet and dry -- and don't leave any behind at Cambridge Airport if you're having trouble fitting it into the supplied dry bag.

This was such a great trip. Even four months later I still think back on the freedom and fun of a week away in World Heritage listed Tasmania by kayak. We camped, Tom was a great and knowledgable tour leader, Jonah was a great cook. Camping, kayaking. cavorting in the wilderness. With no internet or phone it felt like a month not a week.Wish I was out paddling those Breaksea Islands now!

Our family group of five participated in this 8 day trip. What can I say? - it was terrific! My 20+ year old young people - complete novices to paddling - got a taste of what it’s like to be paddling in remote wilderness under the expert guidance of our two guides Jonah and Josh. The guides adjusted the itinerary to cater for swell, wind and weather. The equipment was great! The food was tasty - they catered for my vegan son and pescatarian partner. Highly recommended!

Fabulous immersive trip to Tasmania’s SW wilderness. Well run and thought out itinerary with continental fine tuning as we went due to changing conditions. Guides where brilliant- Kev and Mad’s did a super job of at times herding cats (that would be us- there metaphorical clients:). There culinary skills not to shabby either with a seemingly endless supply of quality calories to partially offset our daily physical exploits. Was a privilege to be able to immerse myself into such a beautiful and relatively untouched remote part of the world. Clearly all of the above glued seamlessly together with the unseen back office. Would recommend to anyone with a sense of adventure and happy to get wet feet.

We were able to enjoy 5 days kayaking in different locations around the island, and see its superb scenery from the water. My 7th trip with Roaring 40s, and the guides have always been great - knowledgeable, helpful, good company and have looked after us so well. Our fellow kayakers have also all been lovely. Highly recommended for those seeking an active yet comfortable holiday.

We did the multi day trip based in beautiful accommodation right on the beach at Pirates Bay, Tory & Grace, safely guided us to see amazing sea caves & cliffs, seals, birds and stunning landscapes North & South of the peninsula and then also cooked amazing meals for us for the whole week. Great experience & paddling adventure, with time to relax with a wine on the deck looking at the ocean at the end of each day and planning the next days paddle. Tory & Grace’s knowledge, enthusiasm & paddling skills provided a very interesting and enjoyable holiday, well done Roaring 40s. Looking forward to our next trip with you guys.

We did the 4 day Tasman Peninsula kayak with Arron and Jonah. We had great weather and the guides gave us sufficient challenge to make it quite exciting( the best bit was paddling thru the gap between Cape Huay and the first Lantern). Food both on the trips and at the beautiful house we stayed in was yummy and it was nice not have to prepare it after a days kayaking. Spa at the house was a real treat.

Absolutely wonderful 4 day trip into southwest Tasmania. Two wonderful guides- Jona and Grace. Blessed with the weather as well. Remote and wonderful wilderness explored in a way which had minimum impact on the environment. Saw quolls, Sea eagles 🦅 and a potaru although the wombats remained elusive! Well fed & comfy beds, great kayaks

This was our third trip with Roaring 40s. This one was the 7-day SW Tassie tour and was every bit as good as our previous 4-day SW and 7-day Gordon River trips. As always the scenery was fantastic and the food excellent. We hope to do a Flinders Island trip with them at some future time. Thoroughly recommended!

I did the 7-day Gordon River trip and loved it! I went on my own, but it didn't matter. Everyone was friendly. Our guides - Kevin and Tim were professional but friendly and approachable. Nothing was too much trouble. We had plenty of good food, wine and nibbles. It is such a beautiful place and so good to get off grid. Looking forward to booking my next trip.

What an amazing trip. Exceeded all expectations. Damo was a fantastic guide and went above and beyond to give us a unique experience while at the same time ensuring everyone's safety. Kayaking under the sea cliffs of cape hauy and past the candle stick will live long in the memory.
