Not really a tour, more like a drive with new friends to have lunch.

This tour was amazing. I can start by saying my husband and I did a similar tour with another company the day before and then we did this one and this one was way superior. Value for money is an understatement. You get free wine tastings at two wineries (which are normally $15 pp each winery and a beautiful lunch at a lovely winery. We also got taken to a lookout over Barossa Valley, chocolate factory Maggie Beer farm shop which we really enjoyed and is a must on the tour and the wonderful Hahndorf where we spent an hour. This is a full day tour and even though we had some rain, definitely did not dampen the experience at all. We had the best tour driver Bob, who was knowledgeable, happy and could not do enough for all on board. If you want to do a winery tour in Adelaide this is the one you should do and if you can try booking directly with Paul the owner of Bums on Seats as other tour companies take a large cut and the company doing the tour are definitely short changed (as we found out). Thank you Paul and Bob. Don and Char Western Australia

The tour was great value for money and the wines we tried were incredible. Perfect timing with the tour down under as well, sipping on wine watching the race go past will never forget. Can’t forget to mention Bob what a beautiful man and very knowledgeable.

We had great communication from Paul from the start, being a smaller group meant they could cater more to people's wants and the flexibility is great. Peter was prompt with our pickup and you can tell he is a passionate local which makes you appreciate the area even more. Stopping off at Mt Lofty and Hahndorf was a nice way to start the day. We visited a nice selection of wineries including lunch at Kie's which was delectable. I also recommend getting the platter if you have someone to share with or even by yourself. I'd been on another wine tour in Barossa a few years back but much preferred this one.

Not sure it was worth the money to be honest.
Picked up at 8:40, first drop of wine at 12:10pm.

I do not recommend adding the coffee and cake as you then miss out on walking around Hahndorf.

Of the expected 4-5 wineries - We went to 3, kersbrook, kies and twin valley estate. We also didn’t get to go to Maggie Beers as if we went we would have only gone to two wineries.
Afterwards, after mentioning we had only had 3 wineries, we got offered the seppisfield and penfolds winery, at our own cost. We decided against as it was 5pm by then.

No one was late, we were there early. I can’t see why this was so unorganised. The driver kept forgetting that certain places were closed so we would rock up and then leave.

The driver (Bob) stopped to tell a story at one point and waited for a person to get off the phone. Like just continue on.

Paul called me multiple times when he couldn’t get a hold of Bob.
Bob was friendly but would recommend for an older group rather than 30year olds.

I have been on previous trips with Bums On Seats and had been so excited to do it again with different visitors to Adelaide. However this was not like our previous tour.
Like Bob would constantly remind us - things used to be better here.

Hello Anna Thanks for your one star review :) Anna you forgot to tell everybody that YOU booked the wrong tour ?? As the brochure clearly says : Hahndorf/Barossa 1 hour in Hahndorf Coffee & Cake optional? 2-3 wineries So you were offered another winery instead of Maggie’s ?? You owe us ?? The fact that you got offered another winery at your cost would have been a bonus and on Bob’s time I rang you once with an important message for bob as I new he was driving and oops sorry rang you twice by mistake while trying to reach other customers.. you forgot to tell everyone how long you were at lunch ?? I think for those who require more alcohol please choose: Barossa Food & wine 4-5 & lunch & Maggie’s Ps I think you were a little hard on bob and I’m not showing this to him because it would break his heart Paul BumsOnSeatsTours

Unorganised pick up’s with the driver arriving late and around the city for an hour to pick up people before the tour even started. I understand that there was traffic and wet weather but they should have requested for people to meet at a central place instead of going to 8 different hotels. This caused us to rush the last few items on the tour and missing out on going to the Maggie Beer farm.

We were left standing in front of our hotel for over 40 minutes to finally have a call from our driver asking where we were? He was at the Stamford Plaza Adelaide and we were at the Stamford Grand Adelaide, Glenelg as selected on the original drop box when booking and confirmed the previous night when the text is sent confirming the hotel pick up times. The driver apologised but he can only go by the information in front of him, the person sending the text and organizing the pick up schedule should be double checking the hotels especially if there are 2 with similar names. The company sent an Uber and we met the rest of the tour in Hahndorf but it felt rushed and were not able to enjoy the morning. There ended up being 13 people in the bus, so much for the 10 maximum number. The commentary was hard to hear as the microphone wasn't loud. The 3 wineries were good and lunch was delicious. We did have a good day but just make sure if you are booking from the Stamford Grand Adelaide in Glenelg you double check that its understood as the concierge at the hotel said that that's happened before with this company.

The tour was excellent, positively fantastic in every way! I enjoyed every minute of it!

I was very blessed to have experienced this tour with such a wonderfully fun group of people, including our tour guide, Deep, who was knowledgeable and extremely entertaining. Deep, and the team at Bums on Seats Day Tours were also very helpful and accommodating with my pick up at the airport and drop off in the Barossa Valley!

The tour consisted of visiting Hahndorf, a quaint little village; picturesque with its sweet gums on either side of the main street, and a highlight for me was our scenic drive through Barossa Valley and to each of the wineries, and sampling a huge variety of red and white wines.

Overall a very enjoyable, fun, organised, and worthwhile tour and would highly recommend to anyone!

We got off to a good start. The bus was full so they picked us up in a very comfortable hybrid Toyota Camry. There was only three of us plus the guide. We got personal service and got to ask lots of questions. This wine tasting tour is highly recommended and Bums no Seats tour company has lots of experience and general knowledge. I particularly enjoyed the German Chateau visit

Didn't do Maggie Beers farm but had been informed of this beforehand and given an option to change dates or cancel. Picked up on time and visited 3 different wineries, the highlight being Kies with Sam who was very entertaining. Great lunch. My only bit of constructive criticism is that it is a little frustrating that passengers were asked to be quiet while Paul took personal and business calls while driving (handsfree of course!) and if this was my business I would try to get around this with voicemail or even redirecting the calls but being an owner/operator is a tough gig. Paul kept us entertained with his stories and jokes and was a great host for the day. If you are very easily offended this may not be the tour for you but if you want a great day out, a bit of fun and great value for money, book with these guys and you won't regret it.

Tour guide Paul was ignorant and rude. He was racist and sexist and bored everyone on the tour with his climate change opinions and other various conspiracy theories. His behaviour was a disgrace. The most enjoyable time of the trip was when he left the tour group to sit in his van and write his petty replies to all his 1 star Google reviews. Thankfully this kept him very busy and out of our way.
If you are considering booking with “Bums on seats” take the time to read the many appalling Google reviews, wish we had!
