- W431SVbonniea0 contributionsGreat way to start the day.My breakfast was delicious. Mark made me the best Chai Latte ever. He & Pauline were very warm & friendly. Stephanie who did the tour was very knowledgeable, well presented & nicely spoken. The taste testing on the tour was yummy. The free Chai at the conclusion was a bonus. The actual markets were kept so clean & smelt fresh.Written May 3, 2024

- Littletoot10 contributionsHappy in MarketsAs a pair of foodie lovers this was one of the best tours we took while in Adelaide. Breakfast was superb at SiSea inside the market and had the best coffee in all Adelaide. Bridie was our guide, and her knowledge of all the food producers and their products was unsurpassed. If you are in Adelaide don't miss one of these tours.Written February 14, 2024
- inprosh0 contributionsAmazing TourFantastic Tour and delicious lunch. Our tour guide Bronni was amazing. Her knowledge of the markets was incredible and gave us so much information. We had previously done a tour a couple of years ago and it was nothing compared to this one. We learnt so much about not only Adelaide but the markets as well. Can not recommend highly enough this tour.Written December 17, 2023
- 796bens0 contributionsAwesome tour!We had a great time on the tour! Learnt heaps, explored way more than we would if just visiting the markets without a guide. Our guide Bronnie was great. Lots if free samples, and lunch was great!Written July 15, 2023

- Gasp40620 contributionsPoor value for money and disappointing.Disappointing and poor value for money. The tour guide did not provide much more than the names of stall holders and how long they'd been in the market. Samples consisted of tiny portions such as a minute piece of cheese, an apple, a strawberry dipped in chocolate, a tiny bit of honey syrup on a teaspoon, a very small muffin. It would have been good to learn about the providence of the food, how they produce it etc. The market is worth visiting, but much better to make your own way around the market and ask stall holders for a sample of produce. Breakfast provided would cost you around $15 if you weren't part of the tour - and you wouldn't be sitting for an hour waiting for the tour to start. Our experience was sadly not great, and we certainly were not offered an over abundance of food! Definitely not worth $130. Would not recommend.Written March 28, 2023

- bernadettek7410 contributionsA tour not to missFor those who love food and history this tour is fantastic. We had been to the Adelaide Central Market earlier in the day just to find the meeting point and see what was there. In the evening we went back and met Cheryl who took us to select venues and explained not only the food and its origins in detail but also the history of the markets and the collaboration between the different operators there. This was one of the best tours we've done and we had the tour to ourselves so felt very lucky. In fact it was so good we plan on doing it again with our son when next in Adelaide. Thank you so much for such a fantastic evening.Written January 27, 2023
- T9936GKjanets0 contributionsGreat for locals too!We are locals but had not been to the market for ages. This tour reminded us what we were missing! Cheryl was very knowledgeable and made the tour interesting. It’s great to see so many South Australian businesses doing well after tough times.Written January 20, 2023
- 1401Bridie0 contributionsFabulous from start to finishWe all absolutely loved our tour with Cheryl! It was so interesting & really fun trying all the different food & drinks! Cheryl was so informative & her passion for everything to do with the market & the stalls/people inside it really shone through! Great value for money. Will definitely recommend it to everyone! Something that Adelaide should be proud of!Written January 15, 2023
- JaneP61370 contributionsExcellent introduction to a wonderful marketWe thoroughly enjoyed our tour. Cheryl was an excellent guide and made sure that everyone got tastings of a wide range of products. She was very knowledgeable about the market and its history as well as the stall holders and their wonderful produce. We would have loved to be self catering during our stay in Adelaide as we would definitely have bought lots of produce. This is a really important market supporting local producers. I’d thoroughly recommend this tour and the market to anyone staying in Adelaide. You won’t regret it.Written January 11, 2023
- laurapK9206JF0 contributionsAmazing!I cannot recommend this tour, or our guide Cheryl, more highly. She was exceptionally knowledgeable, friendly and fun. - 238gabbyv0 contributionsWhat a wonderful experience. Our host Cheryl was wonderful. We packed so much in a hour going from one stall to another sampling different foods and at the same time listening intently to our host explaining the history of the markets and introduced us to various stall holders who had been there a long time. We finished with a bottle of wine each and a take a way pasta lunch from Lucia's,Written December 22, 2022

We are from Adelaide and decided to look at local experiences as COVID 19 restrictions lifted. The Central Market Discovery Tour hit the nail on the head. It was a small group (only 3 plus Cheryl as the guide). The market is slowly bouncing back with customers but the stall holders are going strong and the produce is great. We learnt a bit about the site , the history and the amazing families that man the stalls and have been a part of the Central Market all their lives. The tasting was well managed and hygenic upholding COVID 19 safety guidelines. The best part is that we ventured in to stalls that we would not normally go in to which has now widened our future shopping experiences at the Central Market. Well done to the Cheryl and to all the friendly stall holders that we met as we toured the Market. A great tour for visitors and locals alike.

The markets were amazing! I had no idea that such an expansive and diverse marketplace is located in a city like Adelaide.
The tour was very informative without being overwhelming and the food that we were able to try was excellent (make sure you don't eat beforehand!). Cheryl did a great job leading the tour and you can tell with her rapport with the vendors that she loves what she does and knows what she's talking about (you don't find that with every guide).
Highly recommend!

This was such a beautiful and educational experience. I’ve lived in Adelaide all my life, visited the market frequently on a Friday night as a kid (40+ years ago). I have not been back in so long and cannot recommended this tour enough, whether you’re discovering the market for the first time, or like me - rediscovering it. I took my 20 year old daughter and we were amazed at the the beautiful eateries and just how much the market supports and showcases amazing South Australian produce. Thanks to Cheryl and Jenny for the insight. We loved indulging in more than a few market treats after the tour & have made a pledge to make it a regular mum-daughter day out

It was great to be reminded of what is in our own city and have a love of the Central Market (and all that represents) reignited!
Cheryl’s knowledge, market relationships and passion for food and science left you wanting to know more, even though she had already been over generous with her time with us. Accommodation of dietary requirements was much appreciated.
We will be back to investigate some of the many experiences we now know are available!

What a wonderful tour this morning with our guide Jenny who was so knowledgeable about the markets! Delicious samples, a variety of history and information about how the markets began to how they’re are today! The stall holders were so thankful to see us arrive at their stalls. The group I was in was very small which meant a far more intimate and personalised tour. Highly recommended for not only tourists but locals too!

I've lived in Adelaide for over 20years. Have never really explored the Adelaide Market. The great state voucher issued by the SA government gave me the opportunity to explore the market on a guided tour. I was glad I did. Easter Saturday was the first market day after Covid-19 mask wearing restrictions were lifted. The market was packed & alive with people. Our guide was fantastic with the history of the market, various stall holders and future development plans. Introduced to a variety of stall holders, lots of tastings and samples to take home. I could go on. In short I recommend this tour for anyone, locals, interstate visitors, folks from overseas.

An AWESOME tour with an even more awesome tour guide. Amazing tasting opportunities curated with culturally rich stories which made the tour all the more enjoyable. We honestly went back to each vendor and bought products after hearing their incredible histories. Highly recommend this tour if you’re a foodie, history buff or want a great introduction to where to eat.

Lovely way to spend a Saturday morning, we were celebrating my husbands birthday and thought it was something different..
$60 per person was unfortunately a bit too expensive for what you actually got… I don’t believe it was value for money. I’m sure a lot of the vendors/stalls would of let you have a taste and tell you something special about their products.
Rachel our tour guide was lovely and had lots of knowledge and was happy to answer any questions.
I wouldn’t do it again, I think once you have experienced it once that is enough. More than happy to venture back and buy more own products.

Rachel has an extensive knowledge and her arrangements with the stall holders made the tour run smoothly with the range of tastings most of which are exclusive to us. Would be lovely to see you back in the mArket supporting stall holders and our wonderful Market.
