A great taste of the history of Cairns and its buildings.Peter was very knowledgeable and answered any of our questions. I would recommend this 90minute walking tour at the beginning of your stay in Cairns as it gives you a good feel for the city.

Peter gave us rollicking yarns, revealed the intrigue and a window into the history of Cairns, much more than we could ever have researched without spending a lot of time online or in libraries.
It illuminated our understanding of both the city and restoration projects on the reef.

I thoroughly enjoyed my guided walk around the historic centre of Cairns. Peter's commentary of early adventurers and settlers, life in town and on the bay, old buildings of significance, the war years, made Cairns' past come alive. A great way to learn about this fascinating town's history.

Peters knowledge of the history of Cairns was fantastic. His enthusiasm kept us engaged all tour. The tour has given us a real appreciation for the history of the area and has enriched our holiday. The walk is easy and wheelchair friendly, anyone can do this tour and it’s well worth it.

This was a fantastic way to learn the history behind Cairns, our guide was informative and told the history in a way that was easy to follow and remember.
I would highly recommend this tour to family and friends. When I am back in Cairns I will be doing the other two tours our guide offers.

Fabulous 90 minute easy walk around the main streets of Cairns.
Great insight into the history legends and the modern day Cairns.
I have visited Cairns a few times ...Peter's enthusiasm and knowledge brings the history alive and enthusiastic to explore further.

We really enjoyed the history walking tour around Cairns. Our guide was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic, pointing out lots of interesting buildings and sites, in addition to recounting interesting stories about the buildings and people from the past. The walk wasn’t rushed at all and the information came at such a pace that we were able to remember lots of interesting details later. I was even able to tell my friend, (a Cairns resident of more than 30 years standing) lots of things she didn’t know! Thoroughly recommended.

Loved the tour we did in mid May. Peter was very knowledgeable, I've been to Cairns before but knew very little about the history. From where the best coffee is available to colonial Cairns, Peter knew it all. Would highly recommend the tour for locals as well as tourists.

We very much enjoyed our walking tour with Peter. It was just the 3 of us so it was great. Peter was a fountain of knowledge about the history and buildings of Cairns city. I looked up further details later about some of the things he mentioned to us. It was a great way to spend an hour or 2 in the city. The walk was not strenuous and probably covered a few kilometers. We would recommend.

If you are interested in at least one of the following: history, art, and architecture in Cairns, you must join this tour. The guide Georgia is very enthusiastic, generous and fun. She is full of knowledge who loves this city. Highly recommended to everyone.

I have a 2 year old. Am i able to bring her. Is she free?
We did the tour a few months ago and I cant see any reason why you could not take your 2 year old in a pram as Cairns city area is very flat and accessible too. Cost? I don't know but unlikely they would charge you for a 2 year old.
