The experienced team will advise you on the optimum time for viewing and photographing the the magnificent aqua blue and opal like colors of the Great Barrier Reef. Flights organised between 9:30am and 2:30pm will always be premium times to fly due to the sun being at the best angle overhead the reef. I went with my husband ad 12yo and 6yo daughters. The views and commentary were good and the pilot (Cam) made sure he flew over popular spots from both sides so each side of the plane was able to see. The flight goes out S far as Green Island so not right out in to the reef but the affordable price reflects this. We were really happy to be able to enjoy this experience and recommend to others.

We did a 40 min scenic flight over the Great Barrier Reef on 1st September 2022. Unfortunately we had bad weather for most of our stay in Cairns, but Daintree Air Services were happy to do their best to make sure we got to do our Scenic Flight by moving our flight to a different day when the weather was a bit better, and keeping us informed on it, they were really helpful about it.
The place was easy to find, and has toilets, water, and inside seating area to wait in. They require passengers to carry a folded up life vest that they provide. The staff were all very friendly and professional.
On the plane you wear headphones so you can hear the pilot talking, and a seatbelt. The plane had 7 passenger seats and the Pilot, each person gets their own window which has excellent visibility. It's tight quarters inside but my 6'4 tall husband managed fine and had enough head room and was comfortable enough.
The Pilot was very reassuring, knowledgeable and friendly, and very professional and seemed experienced. Safety seemed to be highly prioritised and everything looked well maintained and in clean condition.
Even though we had some clouds in the sky, the visibility was surprising good, and we were able to see really well. The colours were amazing and we went over certain spots twice so each side of the plane could see it well. The Pilot gave a great commentary about what we were viewing. Even though the weather was a little overcast, it wasn't too bumpy - little planes feel the bumps a bit more I think, but overall it was pretty good.
It was a major highlight of our trip and I would highly recommend doing this with Daintree Air Services!! Thank you!

Booked this flight last minute as my full day cruise to the reef was cancelled and I'm SO glad I did. The views were just amazing, total once in a lifetime experience that I'll never forget. Chris, our pilot, gave great commentary and made sure each side of the plane (where everyone has a window seat) got a view of everything below. The check in process was seamless and the crew were hilarious. Thanks so much.

This is a must do for anyone wanting to see the Great Barrier Reef. The pilot was fantastic, giving a great guided commentary and making sure everyone on the plane got to see every piece of stunning scenery. It was an absolutely fantastic experience that, quite frankly, is the best value of any of the trips you can do. Get booked in as early as possible as you don’t want to miss doing this.

Really well organised and professional tour - we felt we were 100% in experienced hands, from start to finish. Excellent customer service, with great introductory briefing beforehand to explain the safety side of things; this is a really wonderful way to see the coastline and reef near Cairns. Highly recommend this unforgettable experience - if you add it to your itinerary, you won’t regret it!

We were given this experience as a gift and it was amazing. It wasn't something we would have chosen ourselves but so glad we did it. The scenery was beautiful, the flight was smooth and the pilot was knowledgeable with commentary. We found all staff friendly and having a shuttle service back to town was a great added bonus for a small fee. I highly recommend this experience!

Wow! What an amazing experience. This would have to be one of the best things I have done in my life. The views are incredible and a once in a life time experience. The pilot was great, very informative about the reef and islands we passed over, while also having a great sense of humour. I Would recommend this to anyone visiting cairns in a heart beat.

Welcomed by friendly staff who were professional and extremely knowledgeable. The flight ran on time and Cam the pilot was entertaining and full of interesting facts and stories about the Great Barrier Reef, surrounding townships and Cairns. A highly recommended and unforgettable experience.

This has got to be one of THE things to do when you are in Cairns. Can’t rate these guys higher, people were great, and the flight, as short as it was (45 mins or so) showed us some pretty spectacular and memorable views. Plot was friendly and informative and the whole outfit came over as very professional. Thanks again.

We had a wonderful time on our flight this morning and it was the perfect ending to a great trip to Cairns. We arrived at the airport to find a wonderful
Lady behind the counter to get us all checked in. Once we were set, a short 5 minute wait was all that was between us and our amazing adventure. I won’t lie, I was a little scared waiting. “Is this even safe, what am I doing right now” is all I could think. However, the crew reassured me that everything has been maintained to the highest standards. The airplane was comfy and clean and seemed to be in tip top shape. Our pilot Chris was incredibly kind and answered all our questions before the flight, and kept us updated as to all the happenings we could hear over the radio as he talked to the tower. Once in the air he showed us all the best of the reef and made sure everyone on the left and the right got incredible views from their vantage. Once we were at the end of our time Chris took us back safely to the airport and took what is easily the best photo to date of my partner and I.
My only regret was that I didn’t book the longer tour! A truly unique and exhilarating experience I won’t be forgetting anytime soon. Highly recommend to all! Make this a priority on your trip!

I cannot be 100% sure but the aircraft my wife and I flew on was an eight seater, including the pilot. Give them a call - they are very friendly and happy to please - good luck.
