Overview

Experience an exhilarating half-day whitewater rafting trip on the Tully River while in Cairns or Mission Beach. See some of the oldest rain forests in the world as you take on class 2 and 3 rapids in your own sports raft, accompanied by a knowledgeable guide. Includes hotel pickup and drop-off from either Mission Beach or Cairns.

What to Expect

After morning or afternoon pickup from your accommodation in Cairns or Mission Beach, relax during the 45-minute drive to the Tully River.

Your van follows the winding Tully Gorge Road into Tully Gorge National Park, which is part of the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Wet Tropics. At the launch site on the river, your guide provides equipment and instruction for your rafting trip.

Start in a calm section of the gorge, then test out your skills on a set of small rapids with your guide there to assist at every step. As you go along, the rapids get bigger, with stretches of calm water separate each group of rapids.

You might see Ulysses butterflies, rainbow bee eaters, and birds of prey as you float through rain forests that have been around for several hundred million years. At the end of your rafting trip, your vehicle returns you to your accommodation.

Full Day Rafting a MUST DO - GO EXTREME

A great day of rafting lead by friendly and fantastic guides. No experience needed - loved every minute of it! The opportunity to flow down the river (out of the boat) and cliff jumps added to the adrenalin filled day.

Booked this tour as part of our honeymoon. Booked a full day tour the day before we was due to go. Unfortunately part of the road up towards the Tully river had collapsed due to flooding so the full river wasn't avaible to raft on....More
