      Historic Spooky
Very informative with lots of historic information presented by Andrew who added to the atmosphere. The Mayne crypt was a bit spooky. There is quite a bit of walking with one up hill section but once at the top there is a fantastic view of the city lights. A blend of Brisbane history and tales of people long gone. The two hours just flew by!

      Amazing ghost tour
My partner and I were visiting from Perth and we wanted to learn some history about Brisbane. Our tour leader was Natalie on the Haunted Brisbane CBD tour. She was absolutely amazing and had us captivated the whole tour. We learnt so much about the city’s bloody history. We cannot speak highly enough of Nat and the tour. Recommend it for tourists and Brisbane locals. Thank you!

      Amazing experience
Joined our intimate group on a Tuesday night with Andrew as our guide. He was very welcoming when we arrived at our meeting point and I found him to be very knowledgeable on each of the sites he took us to. I highly recommend Ghost Tours Australia and Andrew as your guide. The Haunted Brisbane CBD Ghost Tour was well worth the money and the time. If you are a believer of the paranormal…..you will feel the presence of the spirits at each of the locations.

Fun times discovering the shady history of Brisbane CBD
Nat was a great guide. Told the stories with such enthusiasm. History fact and urban legend mixed together to give a most informative and entertaining presentation. Will now book for the crime tour. Loved all the tidbits of history of CBD Brisbane . I will never look at it the same way again. Superb fun congrats on a great walking tour

Ghost Tour No-Show, My Word vs. Theirs, 0/5 Stars + a Festive Surprise.
My experience with this ghost tour and Viator (TripAdvisor) as a third-party booking site was incredibly disappointing. The tour company claimed to be at the meeting spot, but after searching for an hour, I found no one. This included running into another tour (that started from the same meeting point at the same time), and the guide from that tour confirmed they didn't see anyone from the ghost tour company around. The frustration escalated when I requested a refund, and Viator conducted their investigation in less than 24 hours, siding with the provider and deeming it my fault, insisting they had been present. Contrary to their report, I received no call from the provider, who claimed to be waiting for me for 45 minutes. It's baffling how an experienced tour company wouldn't recognize someone searching for an hour. The lack of accountability and transparency in this situation is deeply concerning. I trusted Viator to ensure a reliable and enjoyable experience, but it is my opinion that they failed. Potential customers should be cautious when relying on Viator for bookings, as their dispute resolution process appears to favour providers over customers. I give this experience a 0 out of 5 stars to caution others about the unreliability of both the ghost tour provider and Viator (TripAdvisor).

      Ghostly reflection
Our guide/story-teller, Andrew, did a great job bringing the ghosts of times past alive for us . The chorus of bats, cicadas & frogs added to the atmosphere with their spooky sound effects .

2 hours of standing for a history lesson
The tour was good but it was more of a history lesson then a scary ghost tour. More stories regarding how people died than ghost experiences had in the cemetery. Be prepared to stand in the one spot for long periods of time as the hosts speak extremely slow ( for dramatic effect ) By the end of the 2 hours people were just sitting on the road, gutter or dirt.

A must experience, historic and well presented tour.
The two young men, our guides, were exceptional in their presentation, knowledge, and care in keeping the company together and ensuring safety from marauding ghosts and walking on broken graves. Both young men spoke internationally accepted standard English and were adept at character acting when speaking as though they were characters long since buried. I consider this tour in the hands of such hosts to be a highlight of the Brisbane night.

Ghostly experiences, touches, goose bumps with figures lurking
The tour was exceptional, our host was fantastic. My husband and I have a big interest in history of old Cementery, especially Toowong as my great grand parents are buried there, and I get weird feelings when visiting cleaning their grave. Andrew our host was great put a lot of information into the tour, things we don't know which are interesting. Lots of walking, and uphill so make sure you can keep up, but once at the top..WOW what a view, that's if you haven't already been shaken up by a mystery hair pull, or something touching your arm. Best tour ever so enjoy it, we did. Thank you Andrew, and The Ghost tour crew.

10/10 experience - professional guide and enthralling story telling
I had an excellent experience on this tour! King George Square was pretty crowded with a Christmas show the evening that I attended, and our tour started a little late because the tour guide was waiting on the other customer that booked in who he could not find. I didn’t mind waiting because it was so packed in King George Square that i almost couldn’t find the guide myself! In the end, he couldn’t get a hold of the other customer and I ended up having an unexpected private tour experience! The guide was great at his job, full of charisma and fascinating facts about the haunted history of Brisbane. the pancake manor was pretty spooky, we knocked on the door of the bell tower (the key was lost decades ago - no one can get in) and i swear i could hear something behind it - and i’m no big believer in ghosts! overall, i had a great time and am looking forward to doing more ghost tours with this company - i appreciate the seamless merging of history with ghostly themes & i found that the guide was caring, professional and very personable.

      Brilliant spooky history tour
This tour was so great. Our tour guides were brilliant and so knowledgeable. They also spent the time after the tour to chat to us about our experience and other tours around the city. I could have spoken to Harley and Jean for hours! Can't recommend this tour and this company enough!

Take in a unique perspective of Brisbane at the Toowong Cemetery.
Take in a unique perspective of Brisbane at the Toowong Cemetery. Be engaged with the unique stories told within the grounds about the lives of infamous and notable characters who shaped Brisbane & Queensland from Governor Blackall to a possible Jack the Ripper identity! This tour was something fun to do year around but especially Halloween when the spirit activity and ethereal atmosphere is buzzing!

      Ghostly And Ghoulish
This was my third and final ghost tour during my visit to Australia. Not to demean the others, but it was the best! Packed with details, some true and some possibly urban legends, Nat kept us enthralled for the entire two hours. I won’t spoil the ending but it was the cherry on top of the cake for me! A great night out whether you’re a sceptic, a believer or on the fence.

I liked getting to see inside the Gaol and getting to explore. Overall it was spooky due to the location, especially as we would walk to a spot and all turn off our torches while a story was told in the darkness. However I was a bit disappointed by the story telling. It felt a bit more like a historical tour rather than a ghost tour.
Also there were times it seemed that the tour guide was either forgetting the story mid sentence or just didn't seem like she wanted to be there. Telling us the punchline of a story then telling us all the tedious details, it just seemed all backwards.

We overheard the next tour group's Guide, cackling in one of the cell blocks while telling a story, that was more exciting and suspenseful than our whole tour. Our group was jealous.

This tour could be elevated SO much more, with a fantastic story teller, even perhaps a bit theatrical to make it worth the ticket price.

The tour was ok but the tour guide just kept waffling on with the stories so I lost interest and we stood around in one spot for at least 20mins listening to the stories.

Felt very rushed when it came to being able to explore and to take photos. Especially when it came to seeing the jail cells, I only was able to take 2 photos before being told it was time to move on :(

P.S. Did not encounter any paranormal experiences which was very disappointing

For my friends and i we found this tour dissapointibg.
Way too much talking before and during, not a lot to see or experience just walking around in the dark with a torch - guide a little bossy at times - plus he gave a full description of what previous people's "ghosts" were like! So the excitement of what we could have seen was gone. Expensive for a short boggo road history lesson with a book at the end which to us what it was.

Gaol is interesting but not at all spooky, found the walk around the Gaol peaceful and it didn't feel haunted. Jokes were cheesy and unfunny. The items on display were lame. I think a history tour would be more entertaining that way you have the daylight to enjoy the architecture of the buildings. I think a focus on the history would've been more scary rather than the ghost stories she told. You get a book at the end of the tour but I would have loved to have bought something from the gift shop instead - pity the gift shop isn't open for the ghost tour. Carpark area outside the Goal was pretty. South Brisbane Cemetery was spooky, and it was free, my friend and I went there before this tour.

Thanks for your opinion. It genuinely sounds like our day time tours are more what you're looking for. We have created different tours - each of which explores different aspects of the Gaol's history. You attended the Ghost & Gallows Tour - which talks about the ghosts of the prison - and we share real ghost stories from former officers and prisoners. The Ghosts & Gallows tour is filled with historical content that is specifically related to the ghost stories told. The History Tour is focused on the day to day operation of the prison, prisoners who served time, officers roles and duties, riots, protests etc and covers 116 years of history and gives you time to explore the gaol and it's architecture. The History Tour 7 days a week at 11am and you can book onto that experience via the Boggo Road Gaol website. If the Gaol didn't feel "haunted" on the evening you were there we can only apologise as we cannot control the ghosts. Some nights it just doesn't feel haunted and everyone's experience varies. We have not fabricated the folklore, there is nothing staged or done to create a false impression. It really is haunted, as attested by countless employees, inmates and tour guests. The objects on display in our Executions exhibition are the gallows beam from which 39 people were hanged; a piece of the trapdoor on which people stood before they died, and a piece of the infamous "Black Hole" punishment cell. Lame is not a word we would use to describe them, but are always welcoming of suggestions for improvement and fresh ideas. Our Gaol Shop is currently closed due to Covid restrictions and this is stated on the tour. We would like to have it open also to our night time guests and hope the government restrictions ease and allow us to do so shortly. South Brisbane Cemetery is definitely worth a visit, but of course is closed to the public each evening. Historic Australia operates a ghost tour of South Brisbane Cemetery as well and hope to see you along some time.

Loved being able to walk about at night to build on the atmosphere. There’s times when you can feel the despair and anger created by the confinement in those tiny cells for so many years. The guide was great, fantastic knowledge and storytelling ability. I really enjoyed it, so did my son. I Did the tour 20 odd years ago and again oct 2020, I enjoyed it then, and recommend still recommend it now. It’s part of Brisbanes history, and so much has already been lost, it’s good to see it’s now being restored.

Recently went on my first ghost tour in qld and honestly felt like I was on a school excursion with a grumpy teacher.

The tour guide seemed to be in a bad mood. Told not to take photos while he was talking, which was majority of the time and a few other comments (which I won’t go into) made him sound grumpy.

The tour group was too big and really took the fun out of experiencing any paranormal activity, this did not feel like a ghost tour and I couldn’t wait for it to be over.

Do the tour if you enjoy hearing about the history of our country and Queensland.

Hi AndrewN1861. Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback. We are always looking for ways to improve our experience and service for our future customers, and appreciate your honesty. We have spoken with the guide for the night, who has taken your comments seriously and will definitely be incorporating a different approach in the future. Unfortunately sometimes the groups we have come on tour do not take the safety guidelines seriously, which can have a large impact on our guides general performance and attitude. This will also have an impact on the overall experience for our customers, who are there for a more spooky experience. Thank you again for joining us on tour, and for giving us the opportunity to improve for the future!

We also bought Jack Sim's book ( History of Boggo Road Gaol - 1883 - 199 ) great read! We are now going to book the Night tour... thanks for an awesome informative and fun morning... The tour was informative and interesting, the use of torches added to the atmosphere. Heather was warm and welcoming, even lending us her umbrella as it began to rain, when we waited outside cell block E due to no wheelchair access. Wheelchair access to all cell blocks would definitely improve the experience.

Myself and a few friends did the boggo road gaol ghost tour. Was semi interesting given the sites history, however it wasn’t spooky like we wanted, and focused more on the history of the site. If I wanted a history tour I would have gone during the day so I could see properly. Tour guide didn’t wear a costume like they normally do. Not what I hoped for, after the more ghost/spook centred cemetery tours I’ve been on with the company. A few stories of ghosts but weren’t scary stories at all, just historical stuff. Not really worth the $45 if you want a ghost tour. Should be called boggo road gaol history tour, not ghost and gallows. Toowong cemetery tour is better if you want spooky stories and ghosts
