John who lead the walk was really good and I felt I got a lot out of it with him pointing out things that we had already walked passed and not seen. I like the details he gave us of the history of Darwin. My deaf friend Faye really appreciated the notes that John brought for her to read so she felt really part of it. I recommend it to any tourist going to Darwin.
Unfortunately my photos are on my mobile phone and I cannot put them over to the computer I may be able to get one over to your facebook group. Will try.

This was a great way to get to know about Darwin. Yvonne was very knowledgeable and excellent guide. The tour started at 8.30 so as to avoid the heat of the day. There are a couple of opportunities to sit down if you get tired of standing. Overall very enjoyable and good mix of history as well as general knowledge and street art.

Our guide John was fantastic. He shared his extensive knowledge and passion for Darwin history in an interesting manner. He has a great sense of humour too. The information and history in the small block we walked is really incredible. I really recommend this tour. It also gave some ideas of other places along the way that I would like to return to to explore further, like the mosaic in the Supreme Court, the library in Parliament House or the memorials along the Esplanade and park there.

Thank you for reviewing Walk Darwin, helenka99 and leaving this glowing recommendation! We'll definitely share your kind words with your tour guide, John. We hope you enjoyed discovering those other places that John pointed out to explore further and look forward to your next visit to Darwin and perhaps showing you more of our town.

The guide really makes the experience on tours such as these. Regretfully our guide, Brian, was inclined to talk more about his life and his experiences than move on with the tour. We were kept standing in one spot for the first 30 minutes of the tour while he spoke about his Cyclone Tracy and work experience, which was initially interesting however, we were keen to get on with the tour.
He has obviously led an interesting life in Darwin but a walking tour is what we had signed up for.
Another half an hour got us to visit two sites in the mall and then with some coaching we moved on with the walk, but with insufficient time to really see the subsequent sites.
Overall, we were disappointed with the tour. Brian had some aids to show but at times they were hard to see and often they faced him, rather than the group.
From previous review of the walk, it sounds like John is the tour guide to request.

On behalf of Walk Darwin, I apologise for the experience you had and thank you for providing this feedback highlighting that one of our guides has not met your expectation of a Walk Darwin tour. We take pride in providing local guides who are passionate about Darwin, it's history and lifestyle, and delivering an entertaining walk. They are human though and there is always a chance they will have an off day. It appears that this day it happened. We would love to clone John, but not sure that he is keen on the idea. Thank you once again for this feedback which will help us to support our guide to improve.

I did the Heritage Tour with Yvonne this morning, 26 June 22 @08:30-10:30, it was one of the most informative and enjoyable tours I've ever had. The pace, information and the route as to the whole experience was just superb. It is a MUST in Darwin and a great way to learn about the city and get your bearing. I highly recommend it to everyone!

A nice early start in the mall to beat the heat. John had plenty of knowledge and historical information to share. A few local Darwin secrets explored on an easy walk around town.

If you're interested in history, this is a great introduction to Darwin. Our guide, John, is the subject matter expert-he really brought the topic to life. I only wish I'd taken his tour the first day of our stay in Darwin and that we'd stayed longer. There's lots to do and 3 days was not enough!

Thank you for this 5-star review and your recommendation. It's great to hear you enjoyed the leisurely walk through the city and, as you've experienced, it's worth walking with someone who lives here as you do get to see and learn so much more about the town. John sure is a font of knowledge!

We found the Darwin Walking Tour run by John Hart (Mobile: 0428183444) to be very interesting and informative. It took 2 hours (08:30 to 10:30) in the cool of the morning. John was full of 'extra' information and pointed places within the city area that we would otherwise missed. He brought the history of Darwin to life for us! This tour is definitely well worth doing when you visit.

Providing you get off the ship at 0800 SHARP you can make it, BUT you will HAVE TO KNOW exactly where you are going to make it, BUT if you let the tour guide/company know you may be a little late I am sure you will find they will wait for you!!!!
*Likely to sell out: Based on Viator’s booking data and information from the provider from the past 30 days, it seems likely this experience will sell out through Viator, a Tripadvisor company.
