Kakadu Full-Day Tour from Darwin Including Ubirr, Guluyambi, and Arnhem Land
From $189.89
Overview
Explore Kakadu National Park and learn about Australia’s Aboriginal heritage on a full-day tour from Darwin. You'll see the highlights of the UNESCO World Heritage-listed park, including ancient rock art of Ubirr Rock and views from the Nadab lookout. Then take a Guluyambi cultural cruise along the East Alligator River, traveling with an indigenous guide who stops along the way to show you the dramatic landscapes of Arnhem Land. Includes lunch, snacks, guide, transportation, and hotel pickup and drop-off.
What to Expect
Meet your guide at your centrally located Darwin hotel (out of town and private residence pick ups can be arranged).
Pick ups can also be arranged form the Croc Hotel and South Alligator Resorts.
Then we travel towards the World Heritage National Park, with stops along the way at points of interest.

Upon arriving at the World Heritage National Park, make your way towards Ubirr Rock. Here you'll visit an incredible ancient rock art gallery home to some of the oldest artworks in the world. Your guide will take you through the gallery, pointing out some of the iconic artworks as well as giving you an insiders perspective and historical background on the Cultural stories behind the artworks.

As you walk through the gallery, you'll slowly make your way towards the Nadab lookout. Here you will see incredible views out over the top of Ubirr Rock and across the Nadab floodplains towards the iconic Arnhem Land.  For the less active, there is still plenty of art to view at ground level, but for those who make it to the top, the view is worth the climb.  (The climb is not difficult but can be steep in places.)

Afterwards, head towards the East Alligator River for your Gulyuambi cultural cruise. An experience you won't want to miss, your Indigenous guide will give you a historical and cultural perspective of the area through the eyes of a local. You are invited to stop midway through the cruise and take a walk out into Arnhem Land. Here you will be given a short Cultural demonstration. It's unique terrain makes it a picture perfect experience.

Your professional driver guide will drop you back at your accommodation early evening.

The whole day is approximately 12 hours return.

Excellent Day Tour

From the moment we were picked up from our accommodation we were warmly greeted by our guide Norm. He was informative, friendly. It is well worth the climb to the lookout at Ubirr for an amazing view.

No, unfortunately it does not. This tour reaches the top of the rock about the middle of the day, and there is the opportunity to see the wonderful wetlands in the daylight
