Fantastic time! A great day trip to see Kata Tjuta, get up and close with Uluru, and then enjoy a great BBQ dinner at sunset at a very affordable rate. Entertaining tour guides (shout-out to Britt who was awesome). The sunset viewing spot was not very crowded when we went and had a great view. The food was well cooked. Ample alcoholic drinks on offer. There are lots of flies - but that's Australia for you. Purchase a fly net for the day trip.

First class all the way. What an amazing day, beautiful scenery. From the moment of pick up this was a great day. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable and really good, they explain a lot throughout the day. From breakfast to dinner and all the snacks the food was excellent and the BBQ dinner with breathtaking views as the sun sets, so glad we did this tour as I think we would have missed quite a bit going in on our own. Great value for money. You definitely won't be disappointed.

Karen, our guide and driver for the Uluru and Kata Tjuta was excellent. She had a great knowledge of the Aboriginal stories and geological knowledge of the area. We had enough toilet stops etc.
The Sunset while having the BBQ was a highlight! The food cooked and salads were delicious and the free champagne, beer, orange juice was generous!

Our guide Tony was a very personable, friendly and informative. The two attractions, Ayers Rock and The Olgas were amazing to see close up. Tony and his colleagues were very personable and accommodating.

But while the attractions and staff were great there were some drawbacks to this tour.
(1) at the Olgas we were given only 40 minutes for the walk to the Walpa Gorge. The path to the Gorge is generally ok and not that steep a gradient, but unless your under 40 and fit there is no way you can reach the Gorge and get back to the bus in the allotted time. Most of the touring party didn't make it.
(2) the Mala walk at the base of Ayers Rock is supposed to be guided. But our guide Tony dropped us off and pointed to a cave area to see, then instructed us to walk along the path till we reached a carpark while he moved the bus there. That is not a guided walk
(3) we did this tour on 20/3/20. At this time and for a couple of months prior the air has been thick with flies, so much so that all the tourists everywhere were wearing fly nets over their heads even indoors. So you would think that a BBQ dinner in the open air would not be a good idea. We were taken to the Uluru Sunset viewing carpark for the BBQ. The BBQ meat and salads looked scrumptios but people were eating food laden with flies and sometimes inhaling some in the process. The irony was next to the carpark was a gazebo type structure with only a thatched roof. Knowing the problem with the flies, surely someone at Emu Run coukd have thought of putting netting on the sides so people could eat in convenience. My wife and I waited till we got back to Ayers Rock Resort and dined in the restaurant.

What a bad experience. Our tour company contracted Emu O Run Experience to provide the tours members with a sunset experience and a BBQ meal. Not only we had a very poor BBQ meal under a scorching sun and heat but we had to compete/share our meal with thousands of flies. The meat was thin and tasteless, the drinks were room temperature due to lack of ice, and the glasses, well you better hold to your glass for ALL of your drinks since there were very limited. The worse meal experience in our 8 days in Australia.

Very rushed from beginning to end. Not relaxing , was expecting lunch as advertised , told none available as came from the camp ground not Alice springs.
Not enough time to enjoy the different places especially Kata Junta and Cultural centre.Had to buy lunch as was hungry, no time to look at things.
Uninspiring tour guide, seemed stressed and rushing all the time. Bbq only good thing about the tour. Even then rush to leave when the sky is changing colours and you want to take more pics. Shut in the bus while tour guide doing something else. Not recommended at all. Make sure you are not in the toilet when the bus pulls away, not a good experience infact traumatic. This was supposed to have been a special day but it was far from that.

Just the most amazing day! Very long trip from Alice Springs, and very hot; but our tour guides (Michael and Eddie) were excellent and very knowledgeable. This was a day to remember for all time, so glad we did it.
All our needs were catered for (toilet stops, loads of water on board and lots of food and snacks all day) and we have learned so much about Uluru and the area; cultural, geographical and historical.
Eddie gave us such an insight into the land and its people, he is a very interesting speaker.
And Michael did the driving there and back, with lots of information about the areas we were travelling through. He was welcoming and friendly.
We also had a great bbq with lots of food and drink.
They worked very hard all day to make this a great experience; thank you both!

This was a long day leaving at 6am from Alice Springs and returning approx 1am, but totally worth it.

The bus was new and clean. Food was plentiful and delicious throughout the day. And the guides were amazing.

Would highly recommend! In fact if I only had 1 day at Uluru I would be satisfied with just this experience. There were only another 2 people on our tour which meant flexibility with timings. Our guide Britt was really knowledgeable and so capable..our bus driver, tour guide and chef! Please pass on our thanks. There was ample time at each destination and BBQ dinner was great. Really happy, thank you!

This experience was amazing. A huge day but filled with wonder!
Gav and Eddie were so well informed about the local communities etc.
The bus was comfortable and cool, the meals and snacks were plentiful and very good. They thought of everything.
At the end of the day, sunset BBQ and a glass of bubbly.
Gave and Eddie are clearly caring about the community and are well respected.
I could not have asked for anything more on the day, they made it comfortable, educational and memorable. Thank you 🙏🏽
