What to expect
Start out your adventurous day with convenient pickup at your Ayers Rock Resort accommodation, which means you don't have to worry about navigating or directions on the way into the Red Centre. Spend the ride relaxing and snapping photos of the rugged scenery before reaching Kings Canyon for your trek. Stop for breakfast at the cattle station, a family-run operation that offers camel rides (own expense), so you can see how the early Australian settlers experienced the Outback for the first time. Continue to Watarrka National Park, where your guide will fill you in on the history and geology of the sandstone gorge, as well as its sacred meaning to the Lilla and Ulpinyali people. Choose between two walk options in the canyon: the 3.5-mile (6-kilometer) strenuous Rim Walk or the more leisurely Creek Bed Walk, which runs 1 mile (2 kilometers) along the valley floor. Refuel with lunch (own expense) and a swim at Kings Canyon Resort before returning to Ayers Rock.

Embarrassing customer service
May 2021
Worst service ever! Happy to take your money but good luck getting any help.
Had an issue with the date on our tour for Uluru, couldnt get through to anyone to reconfirm as the lines were all closed over the weekends and there are no emergency after hours numbers. The staff at Sails in the desert called their number on our behalf and I was told to email Monday as per the local rep. I then emailed twice over a month and was ignored. I ended up calling to find out what was going on, I then resent my email and it was forwarded to the customer relations team. The service got even worse. I was given information and recommendations that I could have done that were completely irrelevant to my scenario and no help at all. When I questioned the terrible customer service, she then told me she didnt see the problem with it even though we had been in Uluru 5 weeks earlier and I had emailed while I was still at the hotel. Im sure the tour guides are fantastic in location but if you have a problem dont hold your breath for any help or a timely reply.

Hi there, We’re also disappointed you ended up missing your tour. As you advised via email to our Day Tour Reservations and also to our Customer Service team that you had made an error and waited for your tour pickup the day after your booked tour departed, per our terms and conditions, a no show or cancellation within 24 hours of a tour has a 100% cancellation fee. Thank you, AAT Kings.

Appalling costumer service - take your money and ignore your emails.
Terrible costumer service and customer care. I booked a canyon tour with AAT kings in Uluru this May 2021. On arrival we tried to confirm the departure date and time for the tour however, none of the phone numbers were available for two days straight. We ended up missing the bus pick up at 5am, although no one from AAT contacted us all weekend to make sure we were in the bus. I've been trying to follow up for 2 months now with AAT as phone operators don't answer the phone and emails get a reply after 2 months, by the costumer relation manager, with no resolution. I've payed over $500 for a tour I've never partaken in and the customer service has been appalling. Would not recommend this company. In these unprecedented times I would have expect more from a tour operator but all they do is take your money with no after care when things go south.

500 stairs to an amazing experience
Jun 2021 • Friends
This is a must do day tour when visiting Uluru!

The breakfast stop at Kings creek station was delicious and a great way to warm up on a cold morning. The hospitality of the staff there was appreciated.

Even though the first 500 steps of the hike nearly got the best of me, the views from the top were amazing. Once on top, the walk definitely becomes easier. You’ll need to make sure you can keep up with the rest of the group as you are on a schedule. If you can do it, I would recommend it to anyone!

We had Jacob as our bus driver and Moises as our rim hike guide. Both of them were great- Jacob was friendly, knowledgeable and very funny. And Moises was very efficient and responsible.

Wow! A challenging experience not to be missed
What an amazing walk. Spectacular scenery. Day went smoothly with an interesting range of stops. Our AAT Kings driver Jacob was a wealth of knowledge sharing stories about the Station families. A deep respect for the Indigenous groups of the area was shown. Loved the walk. A highlite of our stay. Would do it again in a heart beat.

The whole day was professionally run. Our driver Jacob and guide Jess were engaging and positive throughout the tour and extremely helpful. The hike is difficult in parts but Jess patiently supported everyone resulting in everyone achieving success. The hike is awe inspiring and well worth the investment of time, energy and money.

Beautiful canyon top and bottom
Apr 2021
We elected to do the easier walk viewing the canyon from the bottom rather than the arduous rim walk. This was predominantly due to the heat that day which was 30 something degrees. The walk was relaxing with beautiful scenery. It is a spectacular place to visit. Our driver/guides Dylan and Jakob, were professional, knowledgeable and friendly. It was a pleasant drive to and from even though it was a very early start. Breakfast was well organised and ok. If you are a coffee person like me, the barista coffee that I had to pay extra for at Kings Street Station was pretty ordinary. It tasted like hot milk. Just stick with the instant that is included in the price of breakfast. The coffee at Kings Canyon Resort was much better.

I feel somewhat disappointed that I didn’t do the rim walk. I think it would be great to do in the cooler months.

Great day at Kings Canyon!!
Excellent crew and beautiful scenery on this day trip. Many interesting stops and great info from our driver Dylan. His love for the area shone through his commentary, with stories of locals who experienced many hardships. Dylan's insights and local knowledge were delivered in a very captivating way, connecting us with the history and locals in a way that made us feel proud to be Australian.
