About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- 610galw0 contributionsAmazing day trip, truly Australian experienceAmazing experience! Great views and exceptional guidance, highly recommended! Uluru is a truly magnificent place and I was very happy with my choice, only thing I’d recommend is to consider combining the Kata Tjutas as well, which we only saw from the road. Sunset BBQ was a great way to finish the day with amazing outback sceneries and naturally the rock itself. Be prepared for long rides to and from Alice Springs, approximately 5 hours each directionWritten November 6, 2024
- 490KarenC0 contributionsA perfect day in UluruWe had a wonderful day! For my first experience of Uluru up close, it was perfect! Yad, our tour guide was so knowledge and he could answer any questions the small group had. We visited two easier access sites which made it a very inclusive tour too. Emu Run tours are lucky to have Yad on their team! We were also lucky as there were very few flies! I would definitely check out other Emu Run Tours next trip. Thank you Yad, we appreciated your knowledge and support on the day. Karen & ChiaraWritten November 3, 2024
- ntraas0 contributionsUluru was impressiveNice outdoors tour to see the famous Uluru. It's a long drive from Alice Springs (5h) with multiple rest stops on the way. Uluru itself was impressive. The BBQ contained steaks, (vega) sausages, vegtables and multiple choices of drinks. Expect to be back in Alice Springs at 00:30. Pickup was on time. Friendly guide (Yad)Written November 2, 2024

- planestrainsevery0 contributionsTHE BEST WAY TO EXPERIENCE ULURU FROM ALICE SPINGS IN ONE DAY.You go to Uluru to visit a geological marvel, however since ownership changed to indiginous locals, there's much more focus on indiginous intepretation of the features. I get it, but most visit the rock because it's a rock. The significance to the indiginous population is of a lesser importance to visitors. Watching our group, after 10 minutes of dreamtime stories, boredom was starting to show. The BBQ and drivers/guides were fine.Written October 27, 2024
- geromedawn0 contributionsFIRST TIME EXPERIENCEWe found this trip to be an awesome experience. The accommodation was a wonderful experience at Kings Creek Station and our guide Yad at Yulara was very friendly, helpful and very informative. We will be coming back for sure.Written October 23, 2024
- 290AnaA2900 contributionsGreat tour and experience at sunset in UluruWe did the tour to Uluru with Barbecue with guide Yad. It was a great experience, with very interesting stories and explanations. At the barbecue with help of Matteo , Yad did the cooking beautifully prepared and served. Good wines and meat.Written October 16, 2024
- 177deeb0 contributionsWell worth the moneyBe aware you will be picked up before 7am and will be back about midnight as it’s 500km each way. There is a barrel full of iced water under the bus and it’s important as you will need it. There is a break for coffee and facilities about half way on way there (and a pit stop on way back) tho our bus had a toilet on board. Our driver was Scott and he gave us lots of info about areas we passed through. We had a short stop at Mt Connor viewpoint (faux Uluru). Amazing how little traffic there is on the highways… Got to Uluru and had about a half hour break just enough time to grab a Sandwich and drink and takeaway with quick look round the shops. We then changed driver to Yad who was also the guide. Went walks both sides of Uluru while he told us the fables that the first tribes use to explain the marks. Both walks were level so not difficult but it was very hot so some folks missed the 2nd side by staying on the bus. The visitor centre was next with its cafe and shop. Some interesting stuff. Last thing before our journey home was the plentiful bbq (including wine, beer or juice - would have been nice to have sprite as an alternate) and the chance to see Uluru at sunset. Very tired but happy when I got back to hotel.Written October 10, 2024

We didn't know urine was on the bus and our belongings got wet plus we became sick after breathing in urine flumes for the 6.5 hour journeyWritten October 2, 2024

- X2257SGmonikab0 contributionsWonderful day at Uluru with BBQ in the sunsetVisiting Australia from Europe, my childhood dream of seeing Uluru with my own eyes came true, thank you Emu Run Experience! The whole day was organised very well, from pick up in the morning to drop of at night. I would like to mention the coach driver (on 25th Sep 2024, apologies, forgot your name) who has been nothing but outstanding, from driving us from Alice Springs to Yulara and returning us safely home after a 5-6 hour night drive in the Outback, to entertaining us with local historical facts. Yaz also did a good job showing us around the National Park. The highlight of the day was without a doubt the BBQ dinner at sunset. I will forever cherish this day.Written September 26, 2024

Pick up was 7am at our Motel - out at 6.55am waited till 7.25 - Driver said he came at 6.45. Showed our paper for 7am. Then bus wasn't running properly. and no heating. Dave our driver talked ALL the way to Hermansburg. We went there first so they could change the bus. Interesting historic precinct. Really enjoyed seeing some of the aboriginal art for sale etc. and old buildings. We then set off for Palm Valley Really enjoyed seeing the old Cycads and the Palms only found in this area. Great crossing the Fincke River. Dave gave good information about the area but oh dear he never stopped talking and then it became personal and all about his wife and his trips.into the area.Very hard to take videos with him talking incessantly about things not even congruous with the scenery. Not the only one to find him hard to listen to. A young Aussie said she was sure he could still talk underwater with his mouth full of marbles. I suppose to be honest his non stop talk spoilt the complete enjoyment of the day.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We're pleased to hear you enjoyed the historic precinct of Hermannsburg and the unique sights of Palm Valley. We apologize for the pick-up misunderstanding and the bus issues. Regarding Dave, we appreciate his enthusiasm, but we'll remind him about the importance of allowing guests to enjoy moments of quiet reflection. Your insights are invaluable in helping us improve. The geography, geology and fauna so interesting. The tour guide, Dave, was unfortunately unable to stick to the information we were all there to discover. 40% was what we all wanted to hear, the remaining 60% about him. From what his "missus" is doing, his eating habits, his past drinking habits to rudely interrupting when I'd quietly asked another traveller about her shoes to telling us all about his. No quiet contemplation, as one traveller commented "he never takes a breath'.

Hi Helen,
Thanks for your feedback and sorry to hear that Dave overshared on the information on tour. He is very passionate about Central Australia and loves telling a good yarn and wants everyone to have a great time visiting here, sorry it didn't come across that way. I will have a chat with him about a little bit of quite time on the trips moving forward.
Just an FYI that we are the only company offering Palm Valley this season. It is a really tough track on the vehicles going in and out through the river bed and over the rocks. Hence why other companies no longer offer the tour.

Unforgettable adventure in the uniquely beautiful Palm Valley. Highlights were the 1-hour walk around the valley (not too hard, not too easy) and the exciting 4WD ride to get there. Bluey the guide was meticulous about safety and keeping everyone healthy in the heat, while also keeping the vibe relaxed and telling some great stories. The scenery was magnificent all through the Valley with red cliffs and an oasis of green. Lunch was DIY wraps - not fancy but fresh and tasty. The visit to Hermansburg was also interesting and it's sad that this site is closing soon - hope it reopens once the season picks up. A great tour for adventurers of any age.

'Bluey' was our guide. Great driver & so much local knowledge, having lived in Alice 47 yrs & tour guiding 35yrs. Bluey passed on much interesting history about the West McDonnell Ranges, also the vegetation, important explorers and figures that have made a huge positive impact on Alice Springs and surrounds.
Our 4x4 trip was an adventure; the 4x4 seating was comfortable.
Bluey had us laughing and smiling throughout the day. The all day 4x4 tour was fabulous and absolutely beautiful scenery - ever changing high orange/red rock formations, palm trees and ancient cycads.
Thank you Bluey for an incredible day!

We went on the tour in the 4WD bus with 15 people. Bluey had a vast knowledge of the places and history and we could feel his enthusiasm/passion of his local area in his voice. The places we visited were beautiful. We went through some rough and wet roads and he was so cool. The lunch was health and delicious. I would recommend 100% for this tour. Thanks Bluey!

A fascinating trip out to Palm Valley with Bluey as our Driver. Bluey knew the history of the area and this was interesting to listen to as we travelled to Palm Valley. I am interested in plants and he was also very knowledgeable about these. Areas in the Finke river were very sandy after the heavy rainfall and some 4WD's were bogged. Bluey was a very experienced driver and we had not problems. Well worth a visit to Palm Valley the plants and landscape were amazing.

Bluey was our guide for the day, a wealth of knowledge with a great sense of humour. We visited Hermannsburg (who do delicious strudel) then set out off the main road, four wheel driving was great fun through the Finke River bed and beyond over rock, sand and big sheets of stone. Their purpose built vehicle was comfortable across the terrain. Palm Valley and Cycad Gorge were very impressive, opportunity provided for walks and photo stops. Make your own wrap for lunch with fresh salads and meat provided. This tour was top notch, it was a fun day exploring a spectacular part of Australia with a wonderful guide.

We had the best guide, Johno. He was so generous with his time and knowledge. So helpful on the walk. Drove that 2 wheel drive bus on a 4 wheel drive track like a pro. Nothing fazed him, even when we got bogged without a shovel. Another guest said it was the best guide and trip she had ever been on.

Hi Janw,
Thanks for your positive feedback, it really is appreciated.
I just wanted to let you know that all vehicle that are used in Palm Vehicle and for offroad terrain. The vehicle used on the day you travelled was a high lift vehicle with detroit rear wheel diff lockers which is for off raod sandy terrain. We would not sent a vehicle into Palm Valley that was not fit for purpose.
Again, Thanks for your feedback.

This is an excellent one day tour. It's a full day, and definitely worth the price. Hermannsburg an interesting precinct to visit, and spectacular scenery in Palm Valley. The 4WD aspect of the drive into and out of Palm Valley great fun - who needs roller coasters. An exceptional guide in Bluey, who is an absolute fountain of knowledge about the area - history, geology, flora and fauna - and an amazing storyteller who brings things to life.

My tour was booked with Discover Australia Holidays. Tour began in an old 4WD bus. Extremely rough terrain, bounced around a lot, noisy, no aircon. Bus driver stated he was not a tour guide so didn't offer any history on the area or the plant life.
2x Walks were included in this tour, regardless whether you do them or not.
Steep walks/climb over rocks and up hills. No mention from my tour company that the walks were moderate to strenuous fitness level. If you are a senior or someone with any type of physical or medical condition I'd advise against this tour OR ask a lot of questions.
