- edweia0 contributionsSydney’s Food GemsAnother seamlessly easy, fabulous food feast with Peter. I do not know how he finds these gustatory treasures, because they’re not on the tourist radar, thankfully. First up was Turkish sweets highlighted with dark and white chocolate, cherries, Nutella and fruits. Then it was back to the city for a wonderfully fresh, authentic Gado Gado (really delicious), followed by a delicate Asian chicken dish in the leafy residential suburbs of Sydney and an aromatic Persian feast featuring smoky, melt-in-your-mouth barbecued meat balanced with rice, vegetables and the most amazingly delicious tangy lemon drink I’ve ever had. All accompanied by Peter’s extensive knowledge of Sydney. He clearly plans your trip to ensure it exceeds your expectations and has thought of everything to make your trip an unforgettable and delicious introduction or continuing journey to the jewels in Sydney’s food crown.Written August 12, 2024
- Curious520776571300 contributionsThe food I suspected Sydney has, but didn't know where to look.Surprising locations for multicultural foods. Peter knows where it all is, just name which you want to try - or take his pick. Have never had baklava like that before! Nor the delicately smoked chicken. Each dish was new to me. Hard to pick out a favourite, all good. Thoroughly enjoyable and hassle-free day.Written July 29, 2024
- lindavX8970TL0 contributionsWonderful and flexible guidePeter was a wonderful guide - he was very flexible in adjusting the planned excursions to accommodate the weather (rain and mist) and our interests in both nature and culture. This was our third time in Sydney so we had already done the most obvious sights. On the two day trips we booked with him, Peter went out of his way to guide us through other parts of Sydney and surroundings, and gave us some wonderful tips for the rest of our stay. Through our pleasant conversations we now have a better understanding of life in Sydney and in Australia in general. Looking forward to our next visit and exploring more of Sydney with Peter!Written June 10, 2024
- wheretonextmaam0 contributionsWe loved our tour!!Peter is, quite simply, amazing. He's personable, knowledgeable, and expertly guided us through a busy National Park in such a way that we almost felt like we had the place to ourselves. He's made these great booklets of information about Australia and NSW that you can peruse as you drive out of the city and into nature, plus we were free to ask any and all questions we had. I would sign up for any tour with Peter. If you're thinking about it, just do it. He clearly loves what he does and where he lives. He gives great advice, can help you plan your other days, and knows what to do and where to go. We're so thankful for our day in the Blue Mountains and would go back in an instant if we could. Stunning doesn't do it justice. As a human not known for their hiking skills, know that the walks and stairs were just challenging enough. Do it. On all counts. You won't regret a moment.Written May 28, 2024

We went on beautiful walks that, as a tourist, we wouldn’t have known existed and the views were spectacular! We would highly recommend Peter Bailey’s services! Lynna C.Written April 17, 2024

He drove us all over Sydney showing us fabulous views, engaging in very informative conversations and showing us where to walk from Bondi Beach to Tamarama Beach. - Curious520776571300 contributionsThe Sydney Melting Pot in a nutshell. Authentic cuisines, knowledgeable host and guide.Fabulous food, and it’s all made so easy. This is a unique tour, showcasing the best of a carefully curated selection of cuisines, available all over Sydney. Peter is such a knowledgeable host, there is nothing formulaic, none of that repetitious “And we’re walking” or reading from a script. Not the herding or waiting that you expect in big groups - which means it packs more locations in, yet it feels relaxed and unhurried. And along the way, we saw some scenic parts that aren’t in the usual tours - driving over Madonna’s Bra (the ANZAC Bridge), the Parramatta ferry trip (our choice). So many memorable aromas and flavours. Mmmm… Oh, and bring a container to save some snacks for later. Well worth fasting for!Written January 28, 2024

- 794gemmah0 contributionsperfect way to discover SydneyOne of the best tours I've been on. The tour was very personal and adapted to our needs and interests. Peter Bailey was very knowledgeable and provided interesting and humourous commentary while still allowing us to make our own discoveries. Highly recommend.Written December 17, 2023
- Melissa H0 contributionsBest tour I've ever taken! Our family wanted to tour the Blue Mountains while we were in Sydney, but were daunted by the logistics for our group of five that included two young kids (4 and 7-years-old) and 3 adults (including one retiree with a disability that limits mobility). We thought the group tours seemed either too slapdash (stopping for mere minutes before dashing off) or too miniscule (only a couple of stops before heading home). The train seemed simple enough, except for figuring out the logistics of getting around the area once we arrived (and needing to cut out a stop to Featherdale that my kids really wanted). We considered just renting a car, but driving on the left side of the road was intimidating, and it was hard to really assess what we wanted to do once we arrived, and what would be too much for our group to handle. Ultimately, we arranged for a private tour, and it ended up being an absolute highlight of our trip. Peter was really communicative about logistics leading up to the tour, and an excellent conversationalist and guide during the tour. He also gave us recommendations based on things we wanted to do for the remainder of our time back in Sydney. He planned a fantastic itinerary that allowed us to see the beauty of the Blue Mountains from several lookouts, visit Scenicworld, and Featherdale. When the kids got hungry he recommended a delicious little pie shop in the mountains, and everyone enjoyed their offerings. We were never rushed, and the plan was seamlessly adjusted as we went based on our wants and needs. It was such a delight to see this beautiful natural wonder with an experienced guide who knew how to avoid crowds, and manage a group with a lot of different wants and needs. As a bonus, Peter was easy to talk to, well-traveled, well-informed, funny, and kind to our entire party. I know we were on the fence about whether or not to go to the Blue Mountains, and whether we really needed a private guide. I can tell you wholeheartedly that you should go, and that you will definitely be glad you hired Peter to take you. I cannot overstate the fact that our entire group had a GREAT day - no small feat! Highly, highly recommend his tour services!Written November 27, 2023
- AMW393870 contributionsExcellent tour! This tourguide is highly recommend, Peter was excellent. He was friendly and knowledgeable and gave advice for us to get best out of tour and where to go to see things and take photos. We saw Sydney and The Blue Mountains both in a day tour. Long days but well worth doing it and making memories.Written November 2, 2023

We had an amazing tour all around Sydney with Peter Bailey. He was very flexible with catering the tour to our needs and was an expert on all of the places we went. He had some secret places for some great pictures of Sydney harbor and the bridge. It was also a pleasure to ride the ferry back from Manly afterwards. Peter was also able to make recommendations for my dietary needs. I would highly recommend Peter Bailey and would definitely try out some of his other tours if I return to Sydney in the future.

Hands down the best prepared, informative, knowledgable guide I have ever met. Sydney tour was effortless. Explanations, jokes, sarcasm at times, ease of communication and, above all, data books about australia’s global place prepared meticulously made this memorable and one of a kind experience.
Highly recommended.

Sydney is such an amazing city. So many different spots and nice places.
And Peter knows them all...
Peter has an incredible knowledge about Sydney - and Australia in general. During the day, we discussed many different topics. And Peter's positive and calm attitude made everything easy.
If you're travelling to Sydney, you should definitely book Peter as your guide. You won't get disappointed.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the tour given by Peter. He gave us a day of special sights and key attractions. He also accommodated our special requests and seamlessly incorporated into our tour. His knowledge of Sydney was special and you can tell he loves his hometown. It was a real pleasure to to have his company and we couldn't have packed more into a day on our own.

After researching on TripAdvisor, we [two adults and two teens] took two all day tours with Peter on a trip to Sydney in March 2018: the "Regular Attractions Tour" of Sydney and the "Blue Mountains & Featherdale Wildlife Park" tour. We took the Sydney Tour first followed by the Blue Mountains tour two days later. Peter had a well established plan, was right on time and had some surprises in story.
The Sydney Tour consisted of two loops - a southern loop and a northern loop - tied together with a walk across the harbor bridge. Each loop included a good walk where Peter got us started, drove to the other end and then walked back to meet us. This plan worked well. Trip ended up with Peter dropping us at Manly Beach for a swim and a Ferry ride back to the hotel. While there were a number of highlights, maybe the best part was the surprise bird feeding in the botanical gardens near the beginning of the day. We had birds eating out of our hands and sitting on our heads.
The Blue Mountains tour was also memorable. We started early so that we could be at the Featherdale Wildlife Park by 8 am {tours get in early]. A huge number of animals to see and feed. We had never witnessed koalas running around on the ground before [they were hungry]. I highly recommend Featherdale. We then headed to the Scenic Railway and the Blue Mountains. Peter had a plan to ride all of the rides at the Railway and worked in a downhill hike for us [much better than an uphill hike]. Please note that everything on the tour was customizable and at our own pace.
In addition to the Tours, Peter is quite a nice guy and very interesting. I enjoyed our discussions on many different topics and learned a lot about Australia and Sydney. I would highly recommend Bailey's Sydney Tours.

We had done tours of Sydney in the past and enjoyed our visit to Featherdale Wildlife Park. Peter drove us through many Sydney neighborhoods, but was very argumentative and disparaging of the US. He didn’t seem to know a lot of Sydney’s history and argued that my husband was wrong when he tried to point out interesting bits. We won’t use him again.

Your husband spent the day, persistently and belligerently, interrupting me with "interesting bits" that were, almost without exception, wrong. I largely ignored his comments, but corrected him where I felt it was important to do so. Towards the end of the tour, you admitted that his memory was failing in his old age. You even volunteered several pieces of information about yourselves that he’d gotten wrong throughout the day
As for my depth of knowledge of Sydney's history, I had only limited opportunities to share it since 99% of the commentary on the tour was provided by your husband

Peter was a very knowledgable and helpful guide, we could not have chosen better.
I have mobility issues for which Peter made every allowance and he managed to get us to the best places to take photos and take in the scenery.
His knowledge of Sydney and its history was almost encyclopaedic, a thoroughly enjoyable morning.
(Sorry it's almost a year since our tour, still catching up!)

Peter's tour promised to show us the undiscovered parts of Sydney and certainly lived up to expectations. He was very professional and friendly throughout and catered the tour to our wishes, as we'd already explored certain areas on foot. It was great to see all the different areas of Sydney and get a feel for how it all fit together around the water. We went on a few short hikes, Bondi to Coogee being the best, and Peter always met us at the other end. We stopped at a great place for lunch and also took the Manly ferry back to Circular Quay, before Peter dropped us at the airport. Just having someone who has lived in Sydney all his life and knew everything without reciting it all by rote was great, and it was the only way to do these short walks without the nightmare of taxis or public transport. Not only did we feel we learnt a lot about ordinary Sydney people's lives, but we had a great day out full of wonderful views. An excellent tour.

We will be arriving in Sydney, Australia on Oct 25th, 2019. Our Pacific cruise (Princess Cruises) ends at the cruise port in the early morning.
We will have about 4 hours to kill before our flight from Sydney Airport takes us to Hawaii.
There will be 2 of us, with 2 suitcases EACH, and a carry on or 2.
- Would you be able to accommodate us - pick us up at the cruise port at around roughly 8:00AM, take us for an area tour, and then get us to the airport by roughly 12:00 PM? Usually, we are off a cruise ship by 7-8:00 - but stuff happens.
- Can we fit in a snack stop ... just something simple? And potentially a couple of toilet breaks?
- Are the vehicles non-smoking?
- If the weather is too rainy to enjoy the tour, can we cancel on the day of. We will be coming off a cruise ship that AM, so it may be hard to contact you until that morning. Hopefully this does not happen ... we really don't want to spend 8 hours at the airport.
- what is the cost for 2 Adults and payments options
Just want to make sure that this is suitable before we book something.
Thanks! ... John K.
